Overcast. That's the word for the day here in Central Pa. We've had showers overnight and more are on the way. Our high yesterday was 95 (F). Today the mercury is only supposed to climb up into the low 80s. As an outside working temp, the low to mid 80s are on the spot. Now, let's hope the humidity stays down.
I planted my small garden yesterday. I took out some of the back pavers from the veranda and moved them up front. Underneath the pavers is a layer of pea gravel. While providing great drainage, I didn't know how well it would be for growing so I bought a couple of bags of dirt. Because of the trees around my property, it's difficult to find a spot where there is a lot of sunshine, not that my yard isn't sunny, they just change location as the sun crosses the sky. I'm thinking of having the large maple tree on the hill behind the house topped, that will let in a lot more sunlight.
Two tomatoes, one pepper, and a zucchini |
I saw where that celebrity legal case so many have been paying attention to is now over, at least for the time being. I never paid any attention to it. My sister said it was really about 2 drunks fighting in public. My sister can be very, very smart.
Here here Dave! I sure hope we gain some seats. That would be most helpful. Zucchini!!!!! I love zucchini! I trade you two, for me to come over and dust!!
ReplyDeleteYou know, I think Biggie might find your duster quite interesting.
DeleteTwo attention seeking fame whores suing over whos the biggest attention-seeking famewhore.
ReplyDelete:::yawn:::: more deaths in the United States of Guns.
Be grateful one of the fame whores didn't show up in costume.
DeleteDon’t have your maple tree topped! Very bad for the tree and will lead to its demise!
ReplyDeleteIn the end, I suspect it will boil down to which is safer. Right now, there is the concern that if one of the large branches goes in a storm, I might sustain damage at the back of the house.
DeleteYou definitely don't want damage to the back of the house.
DeleteOh, the weather has been crazy here in Chi. It's been in the nineties and then it goes down to the sixties.
ReplyDeleteLove the little garden. Fresh veggies are a plus, but I'd love to see what Maddie does to your zucchini.
Same sex marriage stopped being a wedge issue, so the Repugs want to just get rid of it. It's not a cash cow anymore. You are right, getting more seats is the way to go. That's why the Repugs are trying by all means to stop Dems from voting...
XOXO
Same sex marriage is an issue only among their loyal base, which is why they will continue to wave their flag of hate.
DeleteI actually went out and picked up to flowers for the pouch. That will be the extent of my planting for the season.
ReplyDeleteThey're not fake flowers, are they? I've a friend who every year decorates with fake flowers.
DeleteI think your sister was spot on about the Depp/Heard case! Two narcs fighting it out in court!
ReplyDeleteMy sister can be rather astute about quite a number of things.
DeleteSusan Collins is about as useful as taste buds on a butthole
ReplyDeleteJust read an interesting article about Susie in the WaPo
DeleteHope the weather continues to play nice for you, Dave R. The garden is off to a good start. I didn't pay much attention to that silly legal case either. About as much attention as the politicians are going to pay to doing something about gun control.
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame that you're right about the politicians.
