Our outside temps are a bit warmer than yesterday and humidity has crept heavily back into the picture. Once again the threat of thunderstorms is again on our weather bingo card. They will probably sweep through the area this afternoon bringing little relief from the humidity. The temps? They're not really that hot, upper 80s (F) and sometimes low 90s (F). That's fine. We are in summer after all.
I flipped the cushion on the futon in the living room over yesterday. Way back when Big Seig and Lily were around one of them had discovered a loose thread on one of the seams. Well, a red fox Labrador who shall remain nameless discovered that weak spot and puzzled at it with his paws until the seam ruptured, spilling foam and stuffing out into the world. This unnamed lab thought this was a great toy! He would dig out a piece of foam and then come sit in front of me with an inch or so hanging out of the corner of his mouth. Such a tease. So now that cushion has been flipped, and there's no seam, no foam, and no tease.
While the store wasn't going to make plan yesterday, the flooring department had a steady stream of customers. I sold some flooring but didn't go out of my way to sell any installs. I talked to 2 different customers, answered a lot of questions, but didn't push for them to pay for a measure tech to go out to their houses. I did let both of them know that they could set up measure appointments on line. Online sales are split between the three of us who are sales associates, and that's fine with me.
Yesterday, in the long stretch between those 2 customers, I decided to get in some steps by walking up the the Service Desk to pick up returned merchandise for the department. Halfway there, I saw one of our cashiers approaching me. As I got closer I realized that he had a white snake around his neck. Some people have an aversion to snakes, I have no problem with them. So we chatted a bit about snakes, and frozen rats. He was excited because he'd bought a baby boa earlier in the day. I asked him if I could take his picture and he said yes, so here's Connor (sp) and his white snake.
Oh, he knows fear. That's why he responds with anger and rage.
ReplyDeleteI don't think he does know fear because he believes he's never going to lose, and if things go south it will always be someone else's fault.
DeleteI think it's great they can still dig up water under the bridge about Obama and Hillary all this time later. It's great how bothered he is still by them, because he has no other fish to shoot in his lousy stinky barrel.
ReplyDeleteI don't mind snakes but I also wouldn't want them in my house. It's pretty though, isn't it?
That snake was gorgeous. And they're not digging up dirt, they're making it up.
