I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

Face Off

We have a chilly start to the day, that's if you think 67 (F) is chilly.  I don't.  We also have quite a bit of a breeze, the leftovers from a cold front that moved through the area late yesterday afternoon.  We did get rain, heavy torrential rain that fell in sheets across the highway as I was driving home from work.  And this wasn't like one of those quickie thunderstorms that's a flash, bam, thank you mam kind of storms.  We had heavy rain for over half an hour, heavy enough that I had to drive through waves.  What an adventure!  Today our high temp will only rise into the mid 70s (F).  That's fine.

Yesterday work was steady for the first three hours, but  then it died off.  The store did not hit plan last week.  This is going to continue.  I did set up a measure, but other than that the afternoon dragged on and on.  I had planned on stopping off at my neighborhood Giant supermarket on the way home, but by the time I got out of our parking lot the rain had started, and shortly after that drivers were slowing down and putting on their four-way flashers.

I did make Ukrainian Borscht yesterday morning before heading off to work.  One of the big differences between Ukrainian and Russian is that the Ruskies eat their borscht chilled, while the Hungarians eat theirs warm.  The recipe made a lot, so I'll have meals for the next 2 or 3 days.

And, of course, Volodymyr Zelensky is going to be meeting with the Orange Anus sometime today, possibly this morning, maybe this afternoon.  Orangie has already attempted to lay the groundwork, the Ukraine needs to give up Crimea and not join NATO.  Zelensky has already told him to pound sand.  Some things everybody needs to remember are that Orangie is weak and caves under pressure, that's why they call him TACO (Trump Always Chickens Out).  At the same time we need to keep in mind that he's been given order by his idol, Vlad.  His shoe leather heart has been crushed and he's desperate to make things kissy, kissy again.  I don't think that's going to happen.  Vlad never wanted to be kissy, kissy with him in the first place, but Orangie did make a convenient tool for Vlad to use... and abuse.  Like a bad poker player, Vlad has played his hand too soon, probably because he's already lost a million Russian lives in this failed war.  Vlad is a tiny tyrant who wants his tiny feet to fit into much bigger shoes and that's not going to happen.  So, what will happen?  I don't know.  I wouldn't be surprised if Orangie raises the tariffs on Europe to 75% because being the terrible businessman he is, that's the only card he can think of playing.

  1. The White House wants Zelenskyy in a suit. I hope he doesn't.

    1. He wore a military coat, no suit, and mocked MTG's slob of a boyfriend for not changing since the last time he was there.

  2. I'm with Bob I hope he doesn't either. Still don't think zelenski should even waste his time. He should know by now the dump will not deliver on what he says.

And this weather is much too cool for me. For August?

    1. And yes, the weather is cool, and the Orange Anus did make himself into the fool for another time.

  4. Ohhh Borscht! Yum!
And Mango Mussolini will always bow to Vlad cause Vlad knows where the underage girls peed on Cheeto.

Zelensky did wear something different but I think it was in deference to all the real world leaders there. Cheeto of course, is backpedaling on the whole peace talks. Orders from his Russian handler, of course.

    XOXO

  5. The borscht looks good ! :)
Reminds me of borscht served up by an aunt’s Russian grandmother that she would serve with black rye bread grilled with provolone cheese. Borscht is Ukrainian as cabbage soups are Russian and she made both along with a salad of thinly sliced tomatoes, onions and spring greens or a potato salad with sliced hard boiled eggs, black olives and red onions. My aunt’s Grandma Aranda was a robust babushka. She with her family had fled Russia right after the revolution to Denmark and finally the USA. When the Soviet Union was on the verge of collapse they had great faith in Gorbachev and then in Yeltsin. High hopes from the nightmares of the czars, Ww1, the Revolution, Civil War, Ww2, crazed Stalin and the Cold War that the Russian people suffered through would finally be put to an end and laid to rest. High hopes and great promise for Russia now dashed and destroyed due to Putin and his cabal. The grandmother is gone and the rest of the family hopes Putin like the czars and Stalin will one day finally meet his demise. They support Ukraine and Zelenskyy and pray for Russia’s torment under Putin to end.

    1. Putin's days are numbered. With almost a million Russian soldiers dead, his war is not going well for him. He thought his meeting with Trump would bring it to a quick end; he was wrong. His tactics are aging poorly.

  6. Poopy pants made a fool of himself again. Now he has to talk to vlad to see what their next move is. He is a traitor. All this in an effort to get the peace prize, but that should never happen. Gigi

    1. There are reports Orangie had them take a 40 minute break so he could call Vlad. He will not get the Peace Prize. He was nominated and they took his name off of the list.
