Well, it seems like the cold front that was approaching for days has finally arrived. Our morning temp was 50 (F) and, while that doesn't seem to cold, we will probably not get much warmer as the day goes on. Forecasters are saying we should reach 60 (F), which is only a ten degree increase. They are also claiming our daily highs, at least for the foreseeable future, will be in the 50 (F) range.
Yesterday was Tuesday and unlike so many other Tuesdays, I got things accomplished. A fresh loaf of bread was baked. Laundry was done and hung up to dry in the laundry room. I'm only using the dryer for certain loads, things that would need to be ironed, like pants and shirts, and sheets, which are simply too large for the drying rack.
In the afternoon, I rode for over 11 miles in Canada. There was a big hill, and while I don't relish the workout they give my legs, they are a necessity in getting my heart rate up. My average heart rate for that ride was 124 BPM. This is a good thing for heart health.
Some more words were written. One of the things that seems to be happening as I write this musical mystery is old song lyrics are making their way into the manuscript. Usually, it's not until after I've written them down and spend a few moments reading what's been written that I think, "oh, I remember that." Yesterday, in a bit of dialog regarding whether someone was autistic or not, I put in a bit with Eli wondering "what condition her condition was in." That's from an old acid rock song (that's the LSD kind of acid, in case you're wondering) titled Just Dropped In (to see what condition my condition was in).
I went to see Good Fortune last night. Meh. It's a comedy about a failed wannabe guardian angel messing up people's lives. Keanu Reeves plays the angel, and while he's downright hilarious at times, the rest of the movie is an unsuccessful morality tale. Aziz Ansari wrote and stars in his first attempt at directing. Instead of coming across as being downtrodden, his character was more like "pity me, pity me, pity me." Stream this just to see Keanu being funny. He's good at comedy.
I started watching Boots and wondered Is that how the Marines train the recruits? If it is, it seems rather degrading and cruel. Gigi
ReplyDeleteThe Marine Corp has a history of degrading it's recruits. They believe it makes them more loyal.
DeletePhotos of the demolition literally make me sick. But I think they will help galvanize the movement against OA. Of course that’s exactly what he did in NYC back in the 80s. Intentionally destroyed historic buildings after he’d lied about promising to allow preservationists to save pieces of them. Had the wrecking crews come in during the night, the SOB.
ReplyDeleteYeah, yeah, yeah that’s the condition my condition is in.
He will never change. And that's not the only lyric, which I find amusing.
DeleteBy the time he's done history is going to be completely destroyed. I didn't get much cooler. I'll be heading to Rehoboth Beach tomorrow for 5 days. I heard it's going to be just a smidge warmer than it is here. Looking forward to a little getaway.
ReplyDeleteAccording to the Park Service he's required to rebuild it back. And by smidge, do you mean the temps are going to get above 55?
DeleteThat White House shiz is pissing me off, and Paranoid Pete is gonna explode one day and I hope it's live on TV.
ReplyDeleteAs Maddow said, can you imagine how big No Kings would have been if he'd have started the demolition 2 weeks ago.
DeleteHow I envy your robust health! 10 miles of cycling? I'd probably die with my out of shape ass. Sigh. I want to be active. I'm not sure how or where to start, though, but I'm going to suffer health consequences soon if I don't make some changes.
ReplyDeleteWorking out is not bad once you get into the habit. That's why I went with Trainwell, sometimes I need that little, extra push.
DeleteI think Cankles destroying parts of the White House to build his gilded Denny's is both outrageous and infuriating.
ReplyDeleteUgh. I can't.
Didn't they freak out when Obama put up a tent outside??
And don't get me with the Argentina/Farmers fuckery. Seriously.
And Hegseth cosplaying as Top Gun? These men have the tiniest of the smallest of penises. Really.
And I love Keanu but this is a streamer. Also, didn't Aziz go to the Qatari comedy gig? Having a movie out? He needed the extra money? Really?
XOXO
Trump is on his way to becoming the most hated president in US history, and when he goes, so goes the GOP. And Argentina? I suspect there's something serious with that country.
