Our temps are in the mid 40s (F) and we're not supposed to make it out of the 50s (F). The next thing on our seasonal agenda is our first frost. After that we can have an Indian Summer when for a few days temps will cruise around in the low to mid 70s (F), and some people will turn on their air conditioning. If this year is like the past few, for a week or so in mid December our temps will drop shockingly low and then rebound, at least up here in Central Pa.
And yesterday, being Wednesday, was once again a meh kind of day. I did get my workout in with a few adjustments. I'm now using 20 lb. dumbbells for my presses and my rows. This is a move in the right direction. If my strength continues to increase, I'll have to go out and buy bigger dumbbells.
I also got 2 loads of laundry done yesterday as well as a few other chores, so I'm thinking the day was not as meh as I thought.
I do get to go in to work this afternoon. It will be interesting to see how the store is doing. Last week we missed plan. I suspect that will happen again this week. I have a customer I have to call. He wanted an estimate during our initial conversation, however our software was acting up so I gave him a very rough estimate on the square footage he gave me. Well, that footage was off a bit and there other things needed for the installation than I knew about, so his quote is about $1300 higher than the estimate I gave him. I doubt if they'll go through with the job. That's too much of an increase.
Howie brought a stick into the house. This happens several times a day. He seems to think that he needs to trade a stick for a treat every time he comes in from outside. So, for the time being, he seems to have replaced the stones and rocks with sticks.
Those Republicans who only care about themselves make me ill; do they not have friends, co-workers, family members, being affected by the regime? And if so, and they still don't care, they can kindly fuck all the way off.
ReplyDeleteAnd they won't care until their own lives are upended, and then in November they'll still vote Republican.
DeleteHello Dave,
ReplyDeleteYou touch on a very sensitive area here, that of compassion. We sometimes reflect upon this and do wonder, like you, whether there is an increasing lack of compassion for fellow humans. There are so many people in the world today who are suffering through no fault of their own and yet those governments, fellow humans or neighbours who would be in a position to offer help and support just do not seem to care. Refugees, the homeless, war victims etc.etc. are so dehumanised that thay can be dismissed without a backward glance. So sad.
We do have a small, but loud voting bloc in this country who constantly complain about everything they don't like. They ignore the bad until it drops in their laps, then they loudly demand help. These are people who will never learn.
DeleteOMG Howie!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd those people will NEVER be compassionate or become self-aware, babes. It's a flaw in the Repug gene: they are too selfish and greedy and too prone to grievances to even self-reflect. Let alone be able to think about others.
I pity the fools.
XOXO
The only reflecting they do is in a mirror and then all they dream about is Mar a Lago face.
DeleteConservatives by and large have no empathy, never have. I have had some of them tell me so, along with many admitting to being reactionary in the worst way.

The extra $1,300 on that quote would put me off too, even if it was because of a miscalculation by the customer. Sorry about that. And the picture of pup with the stick is just too gorgeous. I still don't want a pet as it would be too much of a constraint for me but .....!
ReplyDeleteLe proud pup :)
