Bluntness

I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

Buried Alive

Surprisingly, our morning temp is above freezing.  That's right, so I'll take 34 (F) for the win.  This afternoon we will see temps in the 40s (F).  Of course, beginning Saturday afternoon they're going to crater.  I've looking at a number of forecasts for the upcoming storm and while Central PA is going to be getting snow, apparently the heaviest is going to be falling to the south of us.  We might get a total of 8 inches till the whole thing ends late Sunday night.  The kid inside me wishes that we'd get 18.

Yesterday was productive.  I got a nice workout in.  Cleaned the aquariums.  Worked on my foreign language skills.  Fun stuff.

I finished the Tick, Tock, Pop intermezzo chapter in the book.  That's the last one that deals with the events happening in 1983.  I've got three more chapters to go.  Right now I'm working on a chapter called Lullaby, and for those who've read any of my books, this is the chapter when the dots come together.  That sounds mysterious, but if you know, you know.

My nephew's wife was whining on Facebook yesterday about how much their insurance premiums have suddenly gone up.  She has a Crohn's disease, a pre-existing condition.  When the Republicans let the ACA expire (Obama Care), they eliminated the restriction keeping insurance companies from raising the premiums on individuals with pre-existing conditions.  She's a Republican.  She voted for Trump.  When I read her complaints, I laughed.

Here's a pic of this morning's sunrise.

Yesterday the Supreme Court heard oral argument regarding Orangie's ability to fire Linda Cook from the Fed. They did not seem to impressed with Orangie's attorneys.  This is a good thing.  However, they have still not released their opinion on his ability to set tariffs.  I'm reminded of how much they delayed when it came to releasing their opinion on presidential immunity.  They ended up giving him basically unlimited power.  I have this sinking feeling that they're going to do the same thing with tariffs, not so much because he was in the wrong, but because the country would go through horrendous financial chaos should the government have to pay those tariffs back.  This entire shit show belongs to the Republicans.  They have dug themselves into a terribly deep hole, and they just keep digging.  They know that if they stop digging the walls are going to cave in on them.  Unfortunately, they can only dig so deep before the walls cave in.  Either way, they are going to be buried alive.

  1. I am still hoping the right will start to resist. It won't help them in elections because "too little, too late" but it could help end this regime.

    1. They won't because if they use the 25 amendment, they'd be stuck with JD Vance.

  2. I think the nephew's wife will have tons of whining company when this massive ice storm hits all those southern red states and 47 pays no attention and FEMA is in shambles. So sad…. Thankfully Ohio will just get snow at this point. 🤞Kris on Ohio

    1. Our temps will be in the single digits, so at this point, that is all we're going to be getting, with possible ice.

  3. Oh, you were too nice.
I would have commented exactly what you pointed out here. Making emphasis on the fact that the Dems TRIED to extend it but the MAGA repugs opposed that.
And that cold? It's going to whip those MAGA states. Ted Cruz was fleeing Texas. That tells you everything you need to know.
As for Cankles and his power, SCOTUS -the ones selected by him- will give him free rein. Well, maybe after the DAVOS debacle, they'll think a little?

    XOXO

    1. Actually, I had more fun giving my brother a difficult time than I would have by comment to her. And bring on the cold.

  5. Very jealous of the sunrise as we are stuck in an inversion and have gone without sunshine for about a week now. Nice work on the productive day. A solid workout, clean aquariums and some language practice is a pretty great way to stack small wins.

  6. Davos made the orange turd look even dumber than dumb, the whole world got a laugh. We are in for bad weather till at least the end of January. If this storm hits the red southern states and trump does not send help do you think those voters would keep voting for him? I do as they are even dumber than him. Gigi
