Bluntness

I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

CPAC is a Russkie Asset

We've had an overnight low of 61 (F).  That's getting close to summertime temps.  Don't worry, there will soon be a chill in the air.  Colder overnight temps will be moving into the area starting Friday.  Sunday's supposed to be a day of rain, rain, go away.  Then we will once again be back to more seasonal temps, but only for a short time.  Summer is barreling at us full blast.

Yesterday was good.  I paid my real estate taxes (ugh) and did some shopping.  Most of my front lawn was mowed.  Most, because I  use and electric lawn mower and the battery ran out.  The mower's probably 6 or 7 years old, and the battery is just as old.  One fact we all know about batteries is that they don't last forever, you can only recharge them so many times before the charge begins to fail.  Sadly, because of the age of the mower, I might not be able to purchase another battery, built in obsolescence, you know?  We are surrounded by it.  Nothing lasts forever.  Being that it's warm again today, I'll be mowing the backyard this afternoon, and also doing more yardwork.

Today is also tax day.  That means I'll be doing my local taxes this afternoon.  I never owe anything.  It's just that they're a pain to do.

And I received a bill in the mail from Dental Associates, the group that extracted my molar.  I evidently owe another $88.  The total expense was $649.  Of that, Met Life paid $90.40 and $307.20 was written off.  Yeah, that's right, $307.20.  In other words, the dentist needed to overcharge Met Life by $307.20 in order to get a $90.40 payment, and I pay the rest.  That's not a good deal.  There is something terribly wrong with health care in this country.

And here's a pic of my first 2 tomato plants.

And you'll never guess which group of billionaires is making a killing off of of Orangie's war: Big Oil.  It's estimated that they're earning $30 million an hour more than before Orangie started this shit show.  Me?  I'm wondering when that's going to start trickling down.  It's a good thing I'm being sarcastic.  And in case you're forgetting, Big Oil got a really nice tax break in Orangie's Big, Beautiful Bill.  Remember, those billionaires don't care how shitty your life is, they're only concerned with growing their bank accounts.

One of the reasons yesterday was such a good day was that I was too busy to sit down and peruse social media.  However, that didn't stop me from learning certain things, perhaps the biggest of which Petyr Magyar, Hungary's new Prime Minister, said the country was no longer going to fund CPAC.  And the money they were giving to CPAC was actually Russian money, no doubt a way for the Russian mafia to do their money laundering.  This means that Charlie Kirk's ambitious endeavor was funded by the Russkies, which makes them a Russian Asset.  You know, it seems as though those damn Russkie oligarchs got their stinky fingers in just about everybody's pie.

Blue Balls

Rain is coming.  Yepper.  The temps wee above freezing this morning.  Things are going to stay warm until this front passes.  That's means we will be getting rain and not snow.  We need the precipitation, so it doesn't matter to me if it's white and wet, or simply wet.  Snow does provide free cardio to hose of you so inclined to take advantage.

Yesterday was things were done, not just as many as I'd wanted.  The aquariums were cleaned.  Laundry was done.  Many words were written.  Still, it does seem as though I slacked off for most of the day.  I don't doubt some of this has to do with the chaos going through our country right now.

Today's my last day off for the week. To be rather frank, I'm not too wild about having 5 days off in a row.  One of the things that quickly became obvious is that I don't think about the days of the week; there's no difference between Tuesday and Wednesday.  I remember talking to a gent at the store and he tole me he loves that, not knowing or caring which day of the week it is.  Well, shit.  I like things better organized.  This is why I maintain a workout schedule, and a laundry schedule.  I have all sorts of little schedules.  On certain days I start writing at 2 in the afternoon, on other days I start writing at 4 PM.  Regularity in one's life is a good thing.

I had a subscription to Nuts.com for dried blueberries.  I canceled it this morning.  They reduced the bag size from 16 oz to 13 oz.  They also reduced the cost, however the per ounce price actually went up.  This is called a price increase.

And here's a pic of Howie with his blue ball.  I posted 2 different pics on social media and called them "blue balls."  It's a joke.

Within a few hours, the Supreme Court is going to release their decision on Orangie's tariffs.  Does he, like the despot he wants to be, have the authority to put them into effect outside of Congress.  Our constitution says that he doesn't.  If the court rules that he doesn't, this is going to be a cluster fuck on the grandest scale this country has ever seen.  How Wall Street will act is anybody's guess.  If the court rules against Orangie, do not expect our prices to go down much.  Corporations have already made adjustments to their fiscal plans to include the extra revenue they're getting by passing these tariffs onto customers.

And as expected, the administration swung into full lie mode regarding the murder of Renee Good in Minneapolis.  The only ones believe Orangie's side of the story are the hard core cultists who would, if directed by Orangie, eat shit sandwiches.

This should come as no surprise, but Big Oil is saying "now wait a minute," on sending their people to Venezuela.  They say the country is an unsafe environment.  But then, what's safety to Orangie, he's not going to work there, and he has no problem sending young Americans to go die there.  And Marcado offering to give Orangie her Peace Prize?  That woman is delusional and has absolutely no idea who she's dealing with.

Bonus Points

A steady, drizzling rain began yesterday afternoon, the sort of thing we call a soaker, and it hasn't really stopped.  Temps dropped.  We're now in the mid 50s (F), and the weather forecasters say this is where we're going to hang for the rest of the day.  Good thing I didn't pack my sweatpants and shirts for the summer.  I'd just sit home and wait it out, but I'm running low on milk and bread, so later I'll be heading out to my local Giant supermarket.

Speaking of Giant, they did not bring back the super bonus point deals. That's a shame.  It means buying gas for the car is going to get pricier.  This is corporate greed.  The bonus points could not only be used to buy gas, but to buy groceries as well.  The few bonus points you provide, the more people have to spend.

Retail was slow yesterday as well, for the most part.  They are really pushing us to get leads and measure, for a lead, you sign up a customer to have someone go to their home and try and sell, them doors, or windows, or sign them up for a hot water heater installation.  Measures are when you sign them up to have a measure tech go to their homes and measure for carpet, or doors, windows.  Measures and leads are seen as guaranteed sales. They push measures and leads all the time, but mostly during the slow months of winter.  Not anymore.  If we make plan for the day, it's usually because some customer has purchased an installation.  People just aren't spending the money they used to spend.

I made an appointment yesterday to have them pick up the dog sofa in 2 weeks.  Waste Management will do it for free, but it does need to be disassembled for them to do so.  This is what it looks like now.  Oh, and I'm also going to be getting rid of those ugly area rugs.  I bought them when they were on clearance, $29 each.

Stormy testified again yesterday.  That woman is nobody's fool.  She has painted so many terrible pictures I don't want to think about, scared they'd stick in my brain for ever, like Donald Trump in silk pajamas, or even worse, in boxer shorts.  I probably shouldn't have written then, because now you'll think about them too, and those images will be stuck in your head for all of eternity.

Of course, people are also talking about the Orange Anus and his meeting with the CEOs of the Big Oil companies... and the promise he made them, to gut the EPA, all for the price of a measly billion dollars.  Reports say he said the money was to be used by his campaign, well, we know that's a lie.  He has legal bills that ought to be paid and he's already using campaign funding for that purpose.  And I say ought to be paid because he has a bad habit of not paying, if fact, I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't offer them bonus points in lieu of payment.
