Bluntness

I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

The Worst People in the World

Our high today is predicted to be in the low 90s (F) with the sun blasting down from a cloudless sky.  Since I work, I don't really care, but I know there are plenty of sun bunnies out there who will be celebrating.  If the long range forecast is correct, our daily highs for the next 2 weeks will cruising along in the high 80s (F) to low 90s (F).  This is fine with me.  Our transition into summer is almost complete.

Yesterday was another day in which many things were accomplished.  Most importantly, I cut the dead branches out of the river birch tree at the side of my house.  Every time we have a windy day a number of them fall down.  Howie loves this.  He'll run around the yard with a 4 foot stick in his mouth.  I don't want him chewing them up, so now they're gone.  I don't think he'll be very unhappy.  He's a dog.  His retention span is on par with that of a 2 year-old.

As I said, work is on my schedule for this afternoon.  Will it be busy?  I have no idea.  We are heading into vacation weather, so I guess we shall see.

When I go to the movies, it's always at the AMC in Camp Hill.  It's a 12 minute drive.  Occasionally AMC will send me surveys to fill out and, as a token of gratitude, they give me a coupon for free popcorn.  The last time I filled one out there was no coupon.  I was emailed a link for a survey because I went to see Backrooms.  When I clicked on it, I was informed that I'd already filled out that survey.  I guess the cost of popcorn must have, like every other price we're dealing with, gone up.

Since I was busy most of yesterday, did I mention I did finally get my haircut? I didn't have much time for looking at social media.  However, on one of the times I did take a little scroll this popped up in my feed.

As someone said, Orangie needed to make a mandatory appearance to prove that he was still alive and he wasted everybody's time by showing how big the reflecting pool would be if it was stood on end.  Oh, my God, what simpleton would be impressed to find out that the pool, if standing vertically, would be taller than the tallest skyscraper.  Pardon my language, but Holy Shit!  What yaya brain thought this was a good way to get him in front of the cameras?  I listened to a snippet and as many others pointed out, he sounded hoarse and tired.  And as someone else pointed out, he sat through the entire Q&A feeding speculation that he has problems standing.

You have to wonder whether what's going on is actually coming from him, or from the allies he's surrounded himself with, like Stevie Miller, and Todd Blanche?  He has surrounded himself with soulless people who celebrate their own evil.  They are truly the worst people in the world.

Root of all Evil

Well, we got snow.  Not much. An inch, possibly an inch and a quarter of the stuff fell overnight.  Unlike most dogs, Howie was much more interested in finding a stick, or a stone, to bring in the house to trade for a treat.  Our temp is hanging around 25 (F).  We will not be warming up today.  That's our high.  After tomorrow, our temps will be moderate up into the mid 40s (F).  That will be fine.  December has been an expensive month for heating.

I did my morning workout yesterday, and that went well.  Because of the new piece of gym equipment, I've moved the weight bench and the dumbbells into another room where there is more space.  Who'd have thought that my second floor would become a gym? By the way, for those of you who haven't been to Greece, the root word for gym means naked, so a gymnasium is a naked training area.  Unlike those Greeks of long ago, I do wear clothing when I'm working out.  I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Being that yesterday was Saturday, I also worked.  Retail was slow.  While the store did hit our sales plan yesterday, the flooring department didn't.  For the week we are quite a bit below plan.  During a chat with our store manager, he implied that our district was doing much better than most. j This problem is not going away anytime soon.

And, as I said, Howie was more interested in finding a stick, or stone than playing in the snow.  That doesn't mean he didn't get a snow nose.

Orangie was chosen to do the coin toss at yesterday's Army/Navy game.  The idea is to get the coin to flip end on end and he chose to use some sort of floofy launch toss.  There were a lot of comments on social media because he truly did not look as though he knew what he was supposed to do.  This is abnormal.

And there were more shootings, but in Rhode Island and and Australia.  Hate is a seed that needs to be planted before it can grow.  Both religion and politics plant a lot of seeds.  Does this mean they are the root of all evil?  That is something I do not doubt, especially when it comes to religion, and religion is not going to fix itself.  That will need to be done by others.

Separation of Church and State

Well, we've started one of those weekends that everybody is working for...  Of course, that doesn't include everybody that I know, many of whom are retired, or else they work from home and pretty much set their own hours.  Also, I do need to point out that being retired does not mean that you're going to sit back and wait for death to come calling.  I have a very few friends that are waiting for this.  I don't understand what's going through their heads when they tell me "they've worked their entire lives, and they're not going to work anymore."  It just might be a form of laziness.

The weather's going to be fine today.  Temps in the low 40s (F), chilling out overnight.  Tomorrow starts a warming trend, not that we haven't been warm so far this winter, that will take us up into the 60s (F).  By the end of the week we'll be in March.  Spring is in the air, I can smell it.

Another third of the kitchen floor was finished yesterday.  I'm working on it again today.  It's not time consuming, except when it comes to cutting the tiles.  Supposedly, you should be able to cut it by scoring it a few times with a box cutter, and then snapping it.  That, however, doesn't always give you a smooth break, so I'm down in the basement with a hand saw every time I need to cut a tile.

My daffodils are pushing their way up through last years leaves.

And CPAC is happening.  There was a time when this gathering of conservative crazies actually represented something other than... well... a gathering of Christian crazies.  The Orange Anus spoke zombie-speak.  One thing the media picked up on was his racist characterization of black people, the one where he said that black people like him because of his mugshot.

If I'm remembering correctly, it was a CPAC that they rolled out the golden Trump idol.  That's when Christians should have kicked their concern into high gear.  They didn't.  They were too unabashedly delighted that the evil one was going to give them what they wanted.  So happy were they, they told themselves he had to have been sent by God.  Stupid people.  They shriek and moan about all types of sins without understanding how evil actually works.  It gave them what they were praying for, and they helped to spread the evil in return.  Ouch!  This is the reason our founding fathers decreed there was going to be a separation of Church and State.

Let Them Eat Cake

Yesterday was a slow day at work.  Really slow.  Schools open their doors this coming week and those parents who weren't on vacation with their families, were out shopping for school clothes and supplies.  The same thing is going to happen today, possibly even more so since it's Sunday and the weather is supposed to be nice.

Speaking of the weather, it is nice.  The temp this morning was a nice cool 58 (F), which makes for outstanding sleeping.  This afternoon the temps might climb into the high 80s (F), and that to is fine.  For those living in Central PA climate change has not been that bad, not so for the rest of the world.  That doesn't mean we're not going to be getting those long hot summers that everyone around us seems to be getting.

Lily had a great birthday.  Way too many snacks.  Too much vanilla ice cream, as well as chocolate cake.  Everyone says chocolate is bad for dogs, well it is in large amounts.  I researched this a long time ago and it turns out dogs can have 1.5 oz of dark chocolate for every 10 lbs. of body weight, for milk chocolate it's 3.5 oz for ever 10 lbs.  That little half cup of Hershey's cocoa I mixed in Lily's birthday cake was nothing more than tasty for her.  Even the cream cheese lavender icing, while high in fat content, wasn't bad for her.  This is her cake.  Notice the tasty pearl sparkles.

And I saw this story about the problem Evangelicals are having with Donald (the Spawn of Satan) Trump.  The problem is that so many of them were so terribly desperate to make this a socially conservative country they made themselves easy pickings for evil.  What makes this even worse is that these losers can tell you exactly how evil works: it offers you that thing you most desperately want, all you have to do is help it to grow.  So, here comes Donald J, a man known to be a scumbag, offering them what they want and instead of say, "oh, crap, this is how evil works," they searched and searched for some obscure evil person referenced in the Bible who God supposedly worked through and convinced themselves Trump was to be sent by God.  In reality, they were looking at a way to force social conservatism on America and they took it.  Now, Judgement is coming for their cult leader and the church is going to have to deal with a terrible rift, tearing the very fabric of their beliefs apart.  Personally, I think we should all sit back and let them eat the cake they baked.

See how It Gloats

It's Friday.  Will it be a good one or a bad one?  For me it's probably going to be an 'in house' day.  Stay at Home, you know?  Believe me, I have plenty of things to do around here.
I went to my neighborhood Giant yesterday and they had both toilet paper and paper towels in stock, not vast quantities mind you, but there was product on their shelves.  Very shortly, the sales of those two items are going to seriously decline.  Let's be honest here, if you have a freaking closet full of toilet paper you're not going to need to buy it for a long, long, long time.
There are a lot of people out there who feel Wall Street represents the American economy... yesterday shows how wrong those beliefs are.  6.6 million more Americans filed for unemployment last week, they're estimating the actual total of Americans filing for unemployment over the last 3 weeks to be around 18 million... and the Dow Jones went up.  That's right.  States do not have enough money to pay the bill.  They're going to go into debt.  So, why did the markets go up?  The Fed is buying some sort of bonds and those billionaires who own 84% of the American stock market jumped for joy.  The stock market has always been a reflection of greed, rather than the American economy.
Evidently some of the Idiot Jerk's allies wish he'd cut back on his daily briefings, especially since a majority of Americans are beginning to look at how shitty his response was at the beginning.  One anonymous voice said he should stay away from the podium and just let the science guys talk.  Perhaps this is because a number of stations are cutting away before he's finished, or they're only telecasting the bits where Brix and Fauci speak.  My opinion?  Let him continue, every time he opens his mouth he hurts himself more and more.  And I really do think he should continue his stupid Tweets.  Yesterday, he Tweeted an objection to an Op Ed in the Wall Street Journal saying they were ignoring the fact that his ratings were higher than Monday Night Football and the Bachelor's Final Episode.  Try and think about that without laughing.  Really?  There is a pandemic sweeping the globe.  As of yesterday, almost 17,000 Americans have died from it.  And he's pleased his ratings are beating the Bachelors Final Episode.
Finally, since there are some out there who believe this is going to be a good Friday, I  thought I'd post this picture of the Idiot Jerk.  This is what evil looks like.

See how It gloats as It sucks their souls from them, or maybe it's because the woman in pink has her left hand on his ass.

More

Okay, so here it is... Monday, my one day off.  I get to work 5 more days before I have another.  Shit.  I've got a busy day:  laundry, cardio, shoveling snow (oh, right, they're the same thing).
We did get more snow yesterday.  Even though it started falling in early afternoon, the temps were too warm for it to lay.  That didn't happen till around 5 (PM), so all we ended up with was around 3 more inches of the fluffy stuff that hung heavy on the branches.

A woman I've known for about 40 years posted a similar picture on Facebook praising the "Master's artistic handy work," and of course I had to respond.  Knowing she was never a Dr. Who fan, I didn't make a glib comment about him and his most major adversary... The Master.  Rather than that, I reminded her this was the same storm system which killed at least 23 in Alabama.  One of the biggest problems with two of the major religions is their need to make believers personalize their Faith.  Everything is about 'you' which is why their most favorite word has become "my."  She saw the snow on her trees and thought of how beautiful it was on 'her' trees, without even attempting to reconcile that beauty with shattered lives and dead people in Alabama.  To do so would have been more questions about the big picture.  The don't like the big picture, they want the small, personalized picture.
And, what about the Idiot Jerk hugging the flag at CPAC?  Have your every seen a more over-the-top performance.  The only thing this moron is any good at is manipulation, at that he's a Master, especially in the eyes of his followers.  The more overboard he goes, the happier they are.  He is touching their own personalized beliefs.  They hate the big picture since it presents more questions then they can answer.  Their political beliefs are small and personal, like their religious beliefs.  They are about the 'me' and the 'my;' 'you' are more than then can comprehend.
