Bluntness

I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

Tanks

There's a chilly day in store for Central PA.  Our outside temp is sitting at a moderate 51 (F) and if the forecasters are correct, we will only get around 5 degrees warmer.  Tomorrow, however, we return to summer... in April.  Highs for Friday and Saturday are expected to be in the mid80s (F).  That's too hot for this time of year.  The grass is growing, the trees are budding, and more than daffodils are in bloom.  Late June temps in very early April is not a good indicator for the approaching summer.

Much was done yesterday.  I feel good.  A decent workout was done in the morning and some cleaning.  The biggest accomplishment, or perhaps I should say partial accomplishment, was the the aquariums.  The bad tempered tiger barb has passed, so began the elimination of the large 50 gallon aquarium in the writing room.  All of the fish from the bigger tank have been moved.  The smaller 30 gallon tank got a better light.  About 20 gallons has been removed from the larger tank.  Draining it will take a bit.  I used a hose to fill it, but I will need to empty the water using a pitcher.  Then the gravel will have to be removed.  I'm going to spread that around the back yard.  The tank, itself, is made of  plexiglass; it weighs less than regular gas, but cost much more.  It will be recycled.

Here's what the smaller tank looks like so far.

One the big things that happened yesterday was the launching of the Artemis rocket.  Man is again going into space.  This time farther than we have ever gone before.  I'm truly excited about this!  There is a new space race on.  Will the Chinese land men on the moon before we do?  The only bad thing about it was that it happened under the current administration.  What is almost as amazing as the launch was that Orangie spit out a bunch of lies on TV last night and didn't take credit.  Everyone knows that his mind is slipping.  There was supposed to be some big announcement.  That never happened.  He just stood in front of the camera and lied.  Oh, wait, he did say that because of the war the country can not afford Medicare.  Oh, and I do understand that because of his speech S&P Futures on oil dropped as the cost of Brent Crude oil went up.

I did see an interest note from CNN this morning, that in spite of main stream medias attempt to sane wash the Orange Anus, he is still one of the most despised humans in America.

Finally, the GOP caved on funding DHS, though no money for ICE and the CBP.  Their are dying.

Disapproval Ratings

Can you believe it?  Our outside temp is sitting at 37 (F), which is quite warm when you consider last week we were lucky if our daily high made it out of the teens.  This doesn't mean that our nightly lows are going to be be... well, low.  They are.  The long range forecast has them still dropping down into the 20s (F), but this is a nice beginning to the end of winter.

Much was accomplished yesterday.  Shopping was done.  So was laundry.  I got a very nice 10 mile ride finished.  Editing is proceeding.  Over all, I'm quite satisfied with yesterday, and today began early.  0500 found me working on the edit.  While some might same I'm editing, this is also a period where I rewrite.  Things get moved around.  Some points are enhanced.  Details get added.  Words get dropped off.  The Body in 4:4 Time is in a flux of variations.  Fundamentally, everything stays the same.  This period is actually a lot of fun.

I will be baking bread this afternoon.  Ah, the smell of freshly baked bread.

Today, among other things, I'm going to need to work on the aquariums.  The algae problem seems to be returning.  The fish don't seem to mind.  I'm thinking of replacing the 50 gallon tank in the writing room with a 20 gallon, within the next month or so.  I'd combine the two tanks into one, but the one in the living room as Barbs, and they're not good with other fish.

I needed a pic for this morning, so I just ran upstairs and took one of Howie on the bed.

And the shit show continues.  Airspace around the El Paso, Texas airport has been shut down for the next 10 days because of security reasons.  As someone else pointed out, the last time airspace was shut down was during 9/11.    Back then America knew what was happening.  Is this Orangie just causing chaos for the sake of chaos?  Could this, perhaps, be another attempted distraction from the Epstein files?  Personally, I think that's more likely.  Both Congressmen and Senators are able to review the unredacted files and except for the few wack job, cultists, most are stunned, some visibly.  There's a video of Lauren Boebert leaving the building.  Her comment was that Ghislaine Maxwell deserves more time in jail and in a harsher prison.  Bobo was very upset.  An hour ago Senator John Thune was call for a full release of the unredacted files.  Oh, and did I tell you that the airspace of El Paso has been shut down?

According to NBC, this is where Orangie's approval rating sits.

And his Bureau of Labor Statistics just released the jobs report for January.  Don't believe it.  They're saying that 130,000 jobs have been created.  He needs this lie to back-up the lie that the economy is doing great.  He and his administration are not renowned for either their honesty, or accuracy.

Shall we say "Hello" to the turbulent 60s again?

Three hours until I leave for work.  Wonderful.  Temps today are supposed to match yesterday's, low 90s (F), though today they're calling for thunderstorms.  Tomorrow they will only climb up into the mid 70s (F).  If the long-range forecast is correct, every afternoon should find them hovering there.

I spent a lot of time working on the tall tank, which is the one in the living room housing the 12 barbs: rosy, golden, and spotted, 4 of each.  While I don't have to work on at least one of the tanks daily, they each get their walls cleaned at least 3 times a week to keep the algae down.  I've come to the conclusion that most of this added green growth is the result of the LED lighting; it's so much brighter than the old fluorescent bulbs we had when I was a kid.

My peaches are growing very fast.  And the flowers?  Wowza!

Conservatives trying to foist their agenda onto America are running into all sorts of problems.  This doesn't mean that they care, at least not yet.  They will.  The last time this country embraced social conservatism this badly was back in the 1950s.  Most conservatives today have either forgotten, or are too young to remember, but that decade led to the turbulent 60s, not that those years mean anything to their shortsightedness.  I'm old enough to remember when you started your school day with both prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance.  Today's politicized evangelicals want those days back.  Without their ability to begin grooming students at such a young age, their future is in jeopardy.  What they never counted on, however, is the youth of today; young people who have grown up with gay friends, and brown friends, and black friends.  And these young people are growing angrier by the day  This is not what conservatives want.  They need a majority of Americans to become sheep, to bow their heads and lo their acceptance.  Well, that ain't happening soon.
