Worthless

 So, I stayed up a little later and so slept a little later.  The outside temp was 68 (F) when I woke up.  That's nice.  Today's supposed to be cooler, low to mid 80s (F) and I can deal with that.  Sunday, however, the heat will be returning for a few days.  There's no getting around the fact that it is summer.  Possible rain is also in the forecast.  That would be nice.

When I got to work yesterday, one of my fellow associates told me that one of my measures had sold.  That gives me over $3000 in sales for the week.  However, later on, before I left for the day, I went in to check the order and the wrong product was attached.  It looked to me as the someone from Home Depot Measurement Services went in and changed the product.  Rather than call the customer, I first sent an email to the associate who sold the order, copying one of our Customer Order Specialists to see if the customer had originated this change.  The last thing I wanted to do was call the customer.  If this change was done by one of our associates, it would make us look like big douches.  And if it was a mistake, this might also let us fix it without the customer knowing about it.

I finished watching Lockwood and Co. on Netflix last night.  It was... not bad, a little too predictable in the last 2 episodes.  Perhaps if what they were looking for was the most evil thing ever created I might have enjoyed it better.  The minute an older character befriended a younger character I said to myself, well, I know where this is going.  And I was right.  The first 2/3 are really good, it's just in the last third that the stereotypical ending takes over.  When I copied the trailer link, I saw that the series was canceled after only 1 season because viewership declined.  I don't doubt for a second that it was the last 2 episodes that killed this series.

For those who haven't heard, AT&T was hacked in 2022... and we're just finding out about it now.  Personally, I believe they should lose that great tax break given to them by the Orange Anus.

And Biden gave a one hour press conference last evening.  I actually watched a snippet, the bit were he said Vice President Trump, then I turned it off.  There is no denying he is an old man.  Will he withdraw from the race?  Probably not.  Will he be getting my vote?  Of course.  I want to be able to complain like hell if he loses, which I don't think will happen.  Voting also gives me the right piss and moan if, during his second term, he does something I don't like.  If I don't vote, then my opinion is mute.  Back when I first started working as a Flooring Specialist, I worked with a bald gent who had very strong liberal opinions.  One day, while were cutting carpet for a customer, he told me he and his wife never voted, they just didn't see any point in it.  Being the outspoken person I am, I immediately told him that since he didn't vote, his opinions were worthless, that they had no merit.  America doesn't need armchair voters, those constant complainers who fail to see the need for participation.  Their loud voices too often have little or no value.

Lie and Cheat

 Sometimes my weekend begins on Friday, and sometimes it's just another day off for me.  Today, my weekend has already begun.  I slept in.  I enjoy that.  So do the dogs.  Around 0600 Lily had to go potty outside, but after that we both went back to sleep.  Today might be busy.

While back at work yesterday, I told several people how I had said "shut up, you old bitch," to a fellow associate.  Every response was the same.  They all laughed.  Not one person chastised me.  No one said, "wow, maybe you shouldn't have done that."  This says more about the person I yelled at, rather me, which is a shame.  We should all try and respect everybody's opinion, however that's difficult when they have no respect for any opinion but their own.

My new mouse came yesterday.  In case I hadn't mentioned it, I bought myself a new Razer gaming mouse.  It's nice.

I also bought a copy of Elden Ring.  It's a video game written by George R. R. Martin, the same guy who wrote the Game of Thrones series, which means it's probably all the same violence with all the same sex.  Most of the trailers are 'age restricted' on YouTube, this is the only one that wasn't.

And here in Pennsylvania we are heading into a recount among the Republicans.   If you remember backto the General Election of 2020, recounts were never kind to the Moral Degenerate, Trump.  He always lost votes, never coming close to gaining all the votes he lied about losing.  Yesterday was the 2nd day he advised Dr. Oz to cheat.  No surprise there.  This doesn't say much for those Christian Nationalists believe the Orange Anus was sent by God.  Ouch.  

Let's be honest here.  If the deity I believed to be omnipotent had sent Donald Trump to build the socially conservative America I was praying for, and Donald Trump's advice was to Lie and Cheat in order to achieve that dream, I'd become a little suspicious of that omnipotence.  Holy Shit.  Omnipresent and omnipotent are not really as powerful as they're cracked up to be.  Or.... maybe they are, just not in this universe.

Leverage

Today is the 2nd day of my new schedule: 0800 - 1630.  When I got home from work yesterday I was a bit tired and lounged on the recliner for about a half an hour.  Adaptation is the key.  For years, and years, and years I worked this shift so I don't think the change back will be too difficult.  A friend of mine said it should take about 2 - 3 weeks.  I don't think I'll need nearly that much time.
The new torque wrench arrives today.  I'm stoked.  Since this is the first time I've every removed a crank, I've watched a number of videos.  Most of them fail, not in their basic instruction, but rather in their omission of how much torque has been used to tighten that crank.  Except for one guy, every video started out with the instructor saying "this crank has already been loosened."  Getting the crank loose is the most difficult part of the procedure.  None of them want to show how much they had to struggle... except for one guy who said "getting that loose is a real bitch."  They don't talk about leverage.  Nope. Leverage is very important.  A friend of mine at work told me he puts a pipe over the wrench to get even more leverage.  Using leverage is a good piece of advice.
Levers are every where.  We use them daily, mostly without thinking about it.  They can be simple, or complex.  Levers are how we get things done.

Not using a lever is how we fail to accomplish out goals.  That's what happened in November of 2016.  A majority stayed home while a minority went to the polls and used their levers.  Woah!  Now we have an Idiot Jerk in the White House.  He is not about change, he is about disruption.  He creates chaos so a few might gain financially.  Who wants to be a dictator?  He wants to be a dictator.  He understands nothing. 
This coming November we need to use the lever our Constitution has given us to move this pile of shit out of the White House.  And those who support him?  They also need to go.

Primary Day in PA

It's Primary day here in Pennsylvania.  We have a lot of delegates to offer and the selection process for some is... well, a bit odd.  You see we vote for some of them.  That's right.  But not all of them. And it tells you right on the ballot to which candidate they are committed.  This is a bit odd, you know?  I mean you can vote for one candidate and then vote for delegates who are supporting a different candidate.  And our primary is closed.  You need to be registered either Democrat or Republican and you can't vote for the other party.  So, if you're a Democrat who's mutated into a Trumplodite, you would have needed to change your party affiliation in order to vote for Donald.

This entitles me to publicly voice my opinions

I asked the guy who keyed up my voting machine if the polls had been busy and, surprisingly, he said "yes."  And as he said this, a Trumplodite walked in.  How do I know the guy was a Trumplodite?  Well, he was over weight and stretching out to the max a T-shirt that read 'Guns-R-Us.  He also said he'd "never voted before."  Oh, and he asked "How does this thing work?"  I suspect the idea of using a touch-screen to vote pretty much brought him into the 21st Century, at least momentarily.  Of course, I might be wrong.  He might actually have been  Kasich supporter who just dresses like a slob and wears politically incorrect T-shirts.... nah, it was a Trumplodite.
