Well, the end of the work week has finally arrived. Our current outside temp is 75 (F). If the forecasters are correct, it's only going to be climbing another 7 degrees until it reaches today's predicted high. We shall see this afternoon how accurate they are because since summer began, their highs have been low.
I worked yesterday. It was slow. I did sell vinyl planking for a staircase. I'm about halfway to my sales goal for the week.
Something nice did happen. A fan of my books let me know she was finding The Body in History compelling. That's such a nice word to hear when you write something, that it's being appreciated. However, I asked her if she was picking up on any of the mythological elements and she wasn't. Ouch. Sybil is another way of saying oracle and there are a number of famous Sybils in Greek mythology, three of which stand out. And, of course... are you waiting for it? There are 3 Sybils in The Body in History.
Remember back when you were a child and most summer evenings meant chasing and trying to catch fireflies? Well, nowadays I don't have to do that. One of them has made it into the house and taken up residence in the bottle I use to water my plants. I will set him free this evening, that is if I can get him out of the bottle.
I cannot believe (well, I CAN) that CBS/Paramount did that. Not like it's going to ruin Colbert (he'd be back in Comedy Central in a heartbeat or do what John Oliver did) but it's a slap on the face.
ReplyDeleteFuck Shari and fuck mainstream media kissing the ring.
Love the idea of fireflies! The manfriend lives in the countryside and they made their debut about a month ago and are going strong! There's dozens of them flying around every night!
XOXO
Same here to six. Luckily the neighborhood I lived in is not very well lit, so it's nice to sit out back and watch all the sparkling lights flickering everywhere.
DeleteYou should see the hill along side my house at dusk. I don't remember there ever being this many fireflies.
DeleteColbert will survive and hopefully find another platform. As for Redstone, her soul was sold a long time ago.
ReplyDeleteShe's one of those soulless billionaires who doesn't seem to understand that we actually have the power of the dollar on our side.
DeleteFuck CBS. Colbert will be fine, and they're going to tank. Good.
ReplyDeleteTo hell with CBS !
ReplyDeleteTalk about caving to a tyrant, just like the moguls of Germany who either supported or caved to Hitler, Redstone has caved to Trumpenführer.
One day they will all face a reckoning and then watch them cry a river.
Colbert will come out ahead in this clusterfuck.

As far as I know, Skydance Media now owns Paramount/CBS so who knows what they will do, though maybe they bought the CBS for the cancellations.
DeleteStephen Colbert is going to be the first in line to fall like soldiers I think. The dump has already said there's a list of people he'd like to see get fired from new shows and talk shows. I would tend to agree on The View. I can't hardly watch that show... it sounds like a chicken house ...they all talk over each other. The dictatorship continues.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile the weather today has been downright lovely. Hopefully it holds out for tomorrow's protest walk.
Colbert is being offered so many jobs right now, he's going to come out fine. This is already bouncing back to hurt Trump and the Conservatives than they thought it would, and that's a really good thing.
DeleteVenous issue = no blood running to its heart or brain (assuming there ever was one).
ReplyDeleteThe only problem with this is that I feel he needs to suffer much, much more.
