I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

The Singers

Holy Shmolly, we had snow flurries galore last night.  Seriously!  I'm talking about near white out conditions.  There was some wind as the cold front went through, just enough to have the snow fall horizontally.  How bad was it?  Howie went out and did his Tweedle Dee against the recycling bin and then ran back into the house.  He doesn't usually care about the weather.  This morning all that remained was a light dusting, and only on some areas of the lawn.

I got a text from Dental Specialties, they're the oral surgeons who are going to extract my bad molar, in which they sent me a quote.  The cost?  $163.40 after insurance.  I am so glad I renewed my dental insurance this year, otherwise I'm certain that cost would be rather prohibitive.  One thing I'm not going to be paying for are the new crowns and bridges my dentist wants me to buy.  I can think of better things to spend my money on.

We had a specialist who retired a few months back.  About six weeks ago they hired a replacement.  I found out yesterday that 2 weeks ago he gave his notice.  Now he's going to need to be replaced.  That probably won't happen for a month or so.  I did change my hours a bit, mostly because I wanted to go in later to ensure I got my workouts in, not that I think that's going to help with coverage.

Last night, I watched The Singers, the short film that won the Oscar for live action short.  While there is drama in it, mostly, it's sort of like a musical comedy... sort of.  This is evidently Sam Davis' second nomination and first win.  Sam's the cutie Bob spoke about, by the way.  I liked it.  It's a bit different.   But different can be very good.  It's only on Netflix, so if you subscribe, watch it.

And Cuba is going through a full out blackout because of the Orange Anus.  I was thinking about this and couldn't stop myself from shaking my head.  This asshole has initiated a war in Iran, and while his administration is saying there are "off ramps" in place, I can't help but think that they're lying.  The Pentagon is saying that we've had at least 200 injured. Knowing how much this administration is trying to put a good face on this terrible screwup, you know this number is a lie.  And now Cuba.  We used to be the good guys on the block.  Now no atrocity is bad enough for Orangie's Gang.  For those idiotic Republicans who prayed and dreamed about being in charge of an authoritarian government, this is what it's like.  The rest of American is trying to grab onto the reins, yelling woah!  Hold your horses!  And the GOP, instead of listening, is too busy giddily singing, "We're in Charge!  We're in Charge!"  People are dying because of them.  School girls in Iran.  Americans.  And that reality simply doesn't sink in.  It never will.  They have been drinking Desperation Kool-Aid for way too long.  They can never change.  The only choice left to us is to manage them, the way you do any delinquent.

  1. Too bad Barron wasn’t sent to fight in Iran, he is a chicken just like the rest of his family.
We are having very strong winds here this morning and my snow men just shovelled yesterday's snow. My snowdrops are covered again. My dog rushed out for a quick wee then came right in and pooped on her mat when I went for a shower. I think we have all had our fill of winter this year. Gigi

    1. Barron will disappear when this shit show is over. Howie, being a Labrador, doesn't care about the weather. This is both a good and bad thing, because sometimes he doesn't want to come back in.

  2. Several little snow squalls alternated with rain yesterday, and now more snow. It looks like pieces of white tissue paper. Will it kill the tulips and daffodils that have started blooming? I hope not.
I have several dear friends in Cuba. My heart breaks for them. It also breaks for this country and I’m trying to not lose my mind from the fact that the OA isn’t locked up in a padded cell deep underground.

    1. About a third of my yard had a dusting. It did get cold enough for some ice to freeze. Howie likes chewing on ice.

  3. Are any MAGAts questioning why he's asking for help with the Strait of Hormuz if we won that war in the first hour?
Is anyone on the right questioning why we're still there if it's over or not over or about to be over?
Fuck this entire regime and the entire GOP save a few.

    1. The true cultists aren't asking anything, they are, however truly pissed that our one time Allies are rejecting the asshole's requests.

  4. The winds were so high here our power went out around 8:00, along with the bed around 11:30 still hadn't come on yet. I have no idea what time it came on but it was windy! Tonight I'm going to enjoy my corned beef and cabbage.

    1. We had some wind, but it wasn't strong enough to knock the little branches Howie likes from any of the trees around the house.

  5. Ohhh I liked The Singers, too!
Now I have to watch the other short film that won an Oscar.

Cankles is trying everything to keep the country off his scent. It’s the constant barrage of fuckery what keeps people away from his corrupt regime and his crimes. And voter suppression.
Meanwhile, food and gas prices are through the roof and now he wants Cuba as a trophy. Probably already has plans for a Turd Tower there. And a casino.

    XOXO

    1. The director for The Singers has at least one other short film out, so I think I'll try and watch it if it's available. And the desperation in Trump is beginning to overwhelm the media. And he's getting questions he doesn't like.

  6. Dear God, don't the poor people of Cuba have it bad enough already!!!! While I loved visiting there, I realize that what the tourists are shown is vastly different from their reality!

    1. Cubans have not had it good for decades, and they're going to be hurt even more by this administration.
