Bluntness

I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

Bones to Pick

So, it's Tuesday and we've got a week to go before the national election.  Temps outside are in the mid 40s.  The sun is shining brightly.  The forecast is for temps to climb into the upper 60s (F).  Oh, as the days pass, we're going to warm up.  By Thursday, our temp should be around 80 (F).  Is that going to be a trick or a treat?

The plumber is scheduled for 11 this morning.  It's the same plumber I used with my kitchen.  He's fast, and fairly inexpensive.  This should be a simple fix, so I'm expecting him to be gone by 11:30.  Then it's shower time and the beginning of laundry day.  I have many stacks of laundry to do, since the water's been on the ooofff since last Tuesday.  There's also lots of cleaning today.  I now have a puppy and they create dust.

I gave Howie a slice of banana this morning.  Lily loved banana.  Howie?  Well, it was the tater tot all over again.  He may eat it later.  Right now he has a beef bone that I cooked up.  A friend of mine is going to pick up an antler for him the farmer's market this weekend.  He might chew it, might now.  Beef bones are great because the hard enough to deal with his sharp, puppy teeth.  I used to give them to Biggie and Lilly, and they would gnaw on them for hours.

These stones mark where they light the torch for the Olympic games.  It's not much, but it's very important.

The fallout from the Madison Square Garden hatefest is still crashing down around the GOP.  One of the funniest things I've seen about the comedian, was that he was paid to be so racist by the Harris campaign, and those rubes are stupid enough to believe anything.  The fact that his routine was approved by the campaign, and his jokes loaded into the teleprompter?  Those things mean nothing.  Even funnier are those Republican voices whining that the party isn't racist at all.  Sadly, cultists don't see themselves as being racist.  Don't even try to wrap your heads around that one.

And Steve the Grease Trap Bannon was released from prison this morning.  I saw one article that said he was gong to be the October surprise.  Can you hear me laughing now?  He is out on parole, and if he breaks that parole they're going to net his greasy ass and ooze it back behind bars.  I don't doubt that he will be shown Trump's internal polling figures and because he has another trial coming up in a few weeks I'm suspecting that he will be loud, but will temper his message to keep it safely withing the rules so as not to violate his parole.

Comparatively Speaking

Wow! The morning temp is 74 (F), which is rather toasty.  If the forecasters are correct, we're going to crack the triple digits today, with the mercury rising to 100 (F).  Does anyone still know what that means?  Mercury rising?  For those who don't, there was a time when mercury was used in thermometers; all types of thermometers, even the ones you slid under your tongue to take your temperature.  Those days are long gone.  Now they stick something in your ear, or drag it across your forehead.  Science!  Isn't it grand!

The window unit in "the gym" is on low cool, high cool is way too loud.

I had my last window quote yesterday.  It was from the great orange home improvement retailer that I work for, and it was, as all of the other sales agents had said, the lowest that I received.  If I had decided to go cheap, I'd have taken their offer, however, the quote was for Simonton 6500 windows.  Being the curious person I am, I did a lot of comparison shopping, if you want to call it that, and comparatively speaking, Okna windows rate better than Simonton.  I understand that for some, cheap is the only way to go, and sometimes that all you can afford, but I would rather pay a bit more and get a better quality product.  On top of the quality, there is also the fact that Okna windows are made in Bristol, PA, making locally owned.

And this is what the writing room floor looks like, all I need is a couple strong people to move the desk so I can put the area rug beneath it.

Time is running out for the Supreme Court to rule on Trump's immunity.  Will they decide in his favor and give that same immunity to Biden?  Don't bet on it.  Not that they wouldn't love to, however, because he's got Eileen Cannon in his back pocket constantly delaying his treason trial, they'll deny his immunity claims.  Ouch.

And whiny Stevie Bannon appealed to the Supreme Court in order to keep his slimy ass out of prison.  He's another loser who feels he doesn't need to be held accountable for his words and actions.  Unfortunately for Stevie, it's too late for him to crawl back under his rock, and the Supreme Court has been rocked with so many ugly charges, and allegations, and so many of their decisions have been so anti-American and anti-Democracy, they will toss his appeal in the trash.

Martyrdom

Well, it's a beautiful Saturday morning and, as usual, I'm going to go to work this afternoon.  I'm not expecting it to be busy.  Memorial Day is done.  Because temps are going to be staying in the low 80s (F), those who want to, will be doing outdoorsy things.  Those who don't will most likely be watching baseball.

I am hoping that the customer who was measured for 21 blinds has stopped in at the store to get them designed.  There are all sorts of complicated things with that measure.  They want a blind, or shade, for an arched window, several sliding doors, and at least 2 faux shelves for two of the windows.  These are things I rarely design at this point in my career, don't want to become overly familiar with.  The associate we have who's an expert with blinds and shades is on vacation until Thursday.  I'm hoping they decide to wait for him.  They were measured in April, so I'm hoping that another week or two wont be too much of a problem for them.

Rather than ride the bike today, I'm going to go for a row, just to change things up.

I've also been sending out the teaser for The Body on the Lawn to selective people, and the response has been very good.

And I snapped a pic of one of my red roses yesterday.  There are 2 buds next to it waiting to bloom.  I love this color.

And I don't know if I've mentioned it, but I find it truly delightful to know that Steve Bannon is finally going to jail.  There are complaints about how long he has until he has to report to the "Big House."  I'm wondering if he'll even show up.  His nature is to be combative and noncompliant. He's a loud mouth who seems to believe his fat gives him authority.  It doesn't.  If he does show up, he'll be in jail up to the election, though I'm of the opinion he would rather become a fugitive from the law.  Martyrdom has too little honor for Stevie.

Yesterday

Yesterday was a day for the history books.  I worked, of course, and there's nothing historical about that.  I dealt with a number of customers, and for many the passing of the Queen weighed little on their consideration.  Some Americans have a fascination with royalty, others do not. I, myself, will admit to getting a bit teary eyed when I saw the news flash.

While I was sorrowful, I must admit that my mind turned away from the passing of a great Head of State to her son, Charles, the new king of England, a man, to my mind, who has never been that popular.  His first wife, Princess Diana, was loved by multitudes and Charles was the one blamed for their divorce.  Cheating with Camilla, if I remember correctly.  And now, at 73, he has become the king.  Sadly, I do not doubt that the monarchy is in for some troubling times.

I thought this might be appropriate.

Of course, yesterday was also historic in that America had the chance to watch Stevie Bannon do the perp walk, in handcuffs, no less.  Honestly, I was a bit surprised when I saw how much money he had stolen from the Fund the Wall grift.  $15 million.  I actually laughed out loud when I heard him yell as they were taking him away, "you will never shut me up."  We'll have to wait and see what his fellow inmates say about that.

And the DOJ appealed judge Cannon's fumbled attempt to try and delay Trump's judgement.  Because she is way over her head and listening to Trump's attorneys, there is a good possibility she will deny this.  I suspect most arguments will be useless on her.  In the end, all she will have done is ruin whatever career she might have thought she had.

Naked!

Thursday has arrived.  I get to work today, but for only 6 hours.  Yesterday was very showery, with rain falling on and off through most of the day.  Lots of rain.  What they call a soaker.  And, in spite of that, I got quite a lot done.  Of course, I didn't stay up late the night before binging on TV series that fill time without substance. I find that a lot of the series that air on streaming services tend to dilly dally around the plot rather than get to the point.  They present us with a host of side stories featuring peripheral characters that only vaguely touch upon the main storyline.

I took a walk through the Louvre yesterday while I was on my treadmill.  Lots of commercials.  And it was packed with people.  A word to the wise:  if you're in Paris and want to go to one of the greatest museums in the world, go early.  It opens at 0900.  Be there at 0901.  As a result, there were only 8 or 9 other people standing in front of the Mona Lisa, rather than the 200 or 300 packing the room later in the day.

And I know there are several readers who desperately wish I'd show a little skin, well, here you are, the real me in all of my naked glory reclining in the tub.  Enjoy.

Steve the scumbag Bannon, is turning himself into authorities today. It's my understanding that he's a little concerned about this indictment.  If found guilty, this one would bring him real jail time and possibly ruination.  Now, doesn't that make you feel good, the idea of Steve Bannon being ruined?  Let's be honest here, he's too old, and fat, and scabby to be very popular in prison.  Besides, I don't doubt that most inmates will see through his bullshit.

And Mitch McConnell was giving some sort of Republican presser yesterday and for the most part those journalists asking questions were playing softball, but then...  a reporter asked him about the top-secret documents Trump had a Mar a Lago.  Suddenly the presser ends, though not before Mitch informs the reporters that this investigation is all anybody has been talking about for the past month.  The words are barely out of his mouth, before he and the other Republicans make a quick exit.  Heading into the midterms, the Republicans have lost control of the conversation.  Here's a vid from Forbes.  The question is towards the end.  I found it amusing that he didn't even say 'good afternoon.'  They all just turn and high tail it out of the room.  It's almost as though a picture of Steve Bannon naked flashed in front of their eyes.

Blowing the lid off the Cesspool

While yesterday wasn't a complete washout (I did manage to get several loads of laundry done), most of the day was spent in repose.  This is always the case when I binge TV.  The next day is a day of recovery, when I scan for newsbreaks, watch obscure videos on YouTube, and take naps with the dogs.  Inevitably, boredom sends me to bed early and I end up waking up around 0200 because I've had enough sleep for the day.

There is also an 'ongoing problem' with Office 365.  Clicking on the icon gets me a white screen.  In order to get to my files, I need to click on the specific icon in my sidebar.  I was told by a techy that the issue would be resolved within 3 - 5 business days.  I'm suspecting something slipped through their Q&R during a recent update, otherwise this wouldn't be an 'ongoing issue.'

More rain is forecast for today.  Friday I will have to mow the lawn.

And I have this vine growing along the fence.  I have no idea what it is.  There is a nice fragrance, and the flowers are pretty.  I don't think it's a weed.  If anyone knows what it is, please let me know.

Of course, there was so much negative Trump shit floating to the surface yesterday, starting in the afternoon with Billy Barr's attack on Ailleen Cannon's decision to permit a Special Master to review the documents taken by the FBI.  Seriously flawed, I believe is what he called it.  Now, I don't really care for Billy that much, and I'm wondering if his sudden change of heart regarding Trump might be the fact that he's suddenly realized that saving his own skin has become more important than saving Trump's/

That shit was still getting a lot of attention when all of a sudden, the Washington Post dropped a bombshell.  One of the documents confiscated had to do with a specific country's nuclear capabilities.  Yep, the Washington Post just blew the lid off the cesspool.  Many sharp minds are suspecting that country might just be Israel, since the Saudi's did pay Jared Kushner that $2 billion for consultation services.

Now even more sharper minds are looking at judge Cannon's decision and muttering about favoritism.

And then later last evening news broke that Steve Bannon's going to be indicted and will be turning himself in on Thursday:  stealing money from MGAGs for that fake save the wall fund.  This most likely means more jail time on top of the time he'll spend in jail for not responding to the January 6 subpoena.  You just can make this amount of stupid up, can you.

A Wining Vote in the House

Crap!  I slept later than I wanted this morning.  And I was in bed by 11 PM.  It must be the heat.  Or maybe the long treadmill session yesterday.  It was a run up along the shore of Lake Superior.  There was supposed to be a 200-foot waterfall which never put in appearance.

Even though I can list quite a number of chores I completed yesterday, there is an overwhelming consensus between me, myself, and I that not much was accomplished.

I'm almost at 32,000 words in the next book, The Body Under Ice.  I'm pleased.  I guess the big question right now is will Eli and Max find anything when they put a camera down through a hole in the ice?  Will there be something at the bottom of Lake Huron?  You should know by now, I'll never tell.

I designed a new controller for my Xbox Series X and ordered it.  You can click the link to see it or wait until I take a picture after it arrives in about a month.

Steve Bannon's trial continues today.  He's going to go to jail because he's an asshole.  He's in a lose, lose situation because he thought his loudmouth gave him the authority to do whatever he wanted.  I think he should look on the positive side:  2 years in jail might be the perfect diet he needs to lose some of his blubber.

Oh, and can we talk about the wonderful surprise yesterday?  The one about marriage?  The bill that passed in the House of Representative with some serious Republican support?  47 of them voted Yeah.  You know what I'm talking about.  The bill about marriage equality.  Now you have to remember that this bill protects not only same sex marriage, but interracial marriages as well.  This was because of Oreo Thomas, and his published opinion regarding Roe v Wade.  Will this bill make it to the Senate?  No one knows.  But remember, this is one more reason why it is imperative that Blue wins in the midterms.   We save the country by outvoting those who want an authoritative theocracy running America.

The Lady Lillian on the Stairs

Late start today, not because I slept in, I had breakfast with my brother.  The conversation was interesting.

Weather wise, today our temp is supposed to max out in mid 90s (F).  The A/C is ready to go.  We might have hit the mid-90s once or twice before this summer, but a no time were forecasters predicting more than one or two days in a row.  This forecast is calling for daily highs in the mid 90's for the next week.  All of the heavy heat seems to be staying south of us.

I saw where a celebrity couple made headlines by getting married.  Nothing says ROMANCE like a drive-through, midnight wedding in Vegas.  I wonder how much alcohol was involved in the planning of that extravaganza.

Lily has developed a new habit of sitting halfway up the staircase.  I don't if it's because it gives her a better viewpoint of the downstairs or not.

\

They began picking Steve Bannon's jury yesterday.  The last I heard was that 8 jurors had been selected.  Four more to go.  I understand the rumor is going around that he actually showered, shaved, and got his hair cut for his little dance with justice.  Maybe he thinks prettyfying himself up will lower his jailtime.

After breakfast, my brother, a Trump supporter, told me he didn't think Trump should run for 2024, that such an attempt would only be about his ego.  It sounds as though the Orange Anus is losing a dedicated supporter.  My comment was, "Trump's killing the Republican party," got no response.  As for me?  I'm hoping that lunatic announces his candidacy much sooner rather than later.

And finally, Joe Walsh the Republican, rather than Joe Walsh the musician, in an interview with Salon has said that if and when Trump gets indicted, there will be a violent reaction from the far right.  Okay.  I hate to ask this, but is there anybody out there who doesn't understand how much the idea of Trump going to jail will piss them off?  American will get to see the MAGA version of the Black Lives Matter protests, only they will be much more violent.  Whereas the Black Lives Matter protests were about inequality injustice, the MAGA's protests will be nothing more than retaliation.  The MAGA's do not understand their anger will work against them.

Dance with Me

Hello Monday!  I know not all of you find Mondays jolly.  The end of the weekend and the beginning of a work week.  Usually, I'm scheduled for work, too, however I took a vacation day.  September 4 is my anniversary date, and all vacation needs to be used by then.   Believe me, I mean to oblige.

While yesterday was not fully productive, I did get a lot accomplished.  Most of the laundry I do during the week has already been run through the washer, and the dryer, and been folded and placed in drawers, or hung up my in closet.

I was supposed to go down to York, but that trip has been postponed until next Sunday.

We had a lot of rain last evening and over the night.  Thunderstorms.  They were not explosive, no rip-roaring bolts of lightning raking across the sky, no blasts of thunder trembling the earth beneath my house.  Nope.  There was thunder and lightning, but it kept its distance.

As some of you know, in my last book, The Body in Repose, one of the victims was a male belly dancer in the King Tut Review.  Even though I'm no longer doing research, I still get feeds regarding male belly dancers.  This is Giulio Dilemmi.  He does classes and workshops across Europe, if any of you over there are interested.  Can we talk muscle control?

I saw where Betsy DeVos went on record as saying she thought the Department of Education should be shut down, that the states alone should be in charge of education.  I do believe she's wearing her helmet hair a lot tighter than usual.  Conservatives love this idea, of being able to set a conservative, indoctrinating curriculum.  Helmet Head Betsy, however, failed to mention how much the Federal government helps finance school districts across the nation through many grants and reimbursements. Without that aid, local school taxes would go through the roof.

Steve Bannon's trial starts today.  He had said he was going to go medieval... I wonder if that means he's going to show up wearing a chainmail shirt, perhaps in preparation for going to the clink.  Sorry, I just had to do that.

A Good Day for Science, a bad one for....

My mid-week weekend has begun.  I certain objectives I hope to complete during the next 2 days, whether they will be accomplished is another matter.  I'd make a list, but we all know priorities change.  I had thought of driving down to That Fish Place but knowing that the holly shrub in my front yard desperately needs trimming is more important than driving to Lancaster to pick up fish and snails.

As expected, yesterday was a slow day at work.  I did manage to get 2 measures, (a sign the economy isn't as terrible as Republicans say), but in between those moments of interacting with customers there was nothing.  Who ever thought being bored could be so tiring?

Of course, they released a photo taken by the Webb Telescope yesterday afternoon; our first really good look at something so immense many will have difficult processing the truth.  This is especially true for certain religious groups, specifically those who claim their deity created the universe.  They will subvert the truth into something their beliefs can limit and control.  Many of these people, if they even take the time to look at this picture, will simply say "that's nice."  You see, their universe needs to be small enough for them to be the focal point.  A truth they will never understand is that everything does not now and will never revolve around them.  They are the ones who will say, "it's not about the size, it's about the faith."

Steve Bannon's trial begins Monday.  woohoo.  I read that his lawyer asked for a delay because he has no defense.  woohoo.  Now, this tub of horse shit is going to be dropped into an ungreased, cast-iron frying pan where he will publicly sizzing in his own juicy lies.

And every second that passes moves Lyndsey Graham to another cast-iron frying pan.  Lyndsey's got a lot of grease, so when he fries there will a lot splutters, and pops, so don't get too close because I'm suspecting he's going to try and burn as many as possible.

And, of course, the January 6 committee is going to go public again this afternoon.  Kinzinger has said that in 10 years not one of those 74 million people who voted for Trump will admit to casting a vote for him.  I don't doubt for a second today's hearing is going to be another nail in the Republican coffin.  Reagan' started the con, Trump is going to end it.

The Order of the Moral Degenerate

Hello Work Week!  Don't it just fill you excitement to know you're going to spend 8 hours today in a cube, or an office, or at a desk, dealing with issues, or people?  I know I get to go to work... for 8 hours and sit the flooring desk, and deal with customers.  I can honestly tell you that my excitability bucket is nowhere near to overflowing.  It's not even close to being full.  However, I just paid my quarterly garbage / sewage bill so today's hours will allow me to keep banking my social security checks while only working part-time hours.

Yesterday, a day I didn't work, was a day of mostly accomplishment.  I didn't take a single nap!  The lawn was mowed, laundry was done, grocery shopping completed, and the dishes?  hand washed, not popped into the dishwasher.  And I still had time for a long phone conversation with a friend to set up plans for next Sunday and get some Super Special armor in Elden Ring.

I also spent some time dickin' putzin' around with my TV.  I can't sign into Google Play Store, which is why the Paramount + app didn't update.  Shit.  I rebooted the TV, the router, cleaned up the Paramount cache.  Nothing was working, so I deleted the app and signed up for Paramount + through Amazon Prime; .99 a month for 2 months before the 9.99 charge kicks in.  I can probably live with that.

Here's another picture during my glory days in the Navy.   The date is Sept 73, which means it was taken almost 49 years ago.  I was 22 at the time. The blue thing in my hand was a piece of cloth that unraveled.  A few of us gave it a name as though it were a pet, Cleetus, if I'm remembering correctly.  Soon after it was thrown into the trash.

Politically, yesterday was fairly quiet.  There was a bunch of banter about Bannon's bullshit.  While most of us are smart enough to know he never had Executive Privilege, I'm sure MAGA world must be spinning on its head: a loyal member of the Order of the Moral Degenerate has lost his protected status.  Son of a bitch!  Will Bannon squeal?  Well, the January 6 committee may have to delicately parse his words to find slivers of truth as he belches out his testimony.

And finally, has anybody heard from Mark Meadows lately?  Cassidy Hutchinson mentioned him multiple times and we've heard nothing from his camp.  Could it be he's crawled so far back under his rock that we'll never hear from him again?   Or is there something else going on?

Bannon's smirk

 Saturday!

I work 12-7.  No problem.  We're supposed to showers on and off most of the day.  Right now, the skies are overcast.  I wish we would get more than a little drizzle every now and then even that means having to mow my lawn tomorrow, on the traditional day of rest.

While at work this afternoon, I will need to call a fellow associate's customer to tell them the tile they wanted is no longer available. This is a problem when customers try and cheap it out by buying clearance items.  I always make it a point to say that clearance means the product is going away.  A yellow tag means an extremely limited supply.  They can still buy the tile from our website for $22.74 a case, but they will also have to pay a $79 shipping charge.  The customer will probably yell at me over the phone and then cancel the job.  This is how life is.  Make your plans accordingly.

I got a lot accomplished yesterday because I didn't give into 'slug mode.'  Here lately it seems as though the urge to just puddle through the day has been quite attractive. Baking those sugar cookies was a bad idea.  Sugar, carbs, and me, are the perfect combination for spending a nappy afternoon.

The yellow dahlias are beginning to open.

Elon Musk dropped his offer to purchase Twitter.  His attorney's provided several weak excuses, though I believe he still needs to pay a $1 billion fee for changing his mind.  I've no problem with that.  Honestly, I never believed he had any interest in the acquisition.  Personally, I think his life is pretty much the definition of a clusterfuck.  He has 11 children (possibly more) with a set of twins just being born to a woman who worked for a company he owns.  Tesla seems to be running into all types of headwinds.  Several auto manufacturers, including Hyundai, are set to leave Tesla spinning its tires trying to catch up.

The word is out that Trump is preparing to revoke Steve Bannon's Executive privilege.   Other than the joy I'd see of seeing Bannon's shitty smirk wiped from his face, I don't this as anything other than a desperate attempt by the Spawn of Satan, Donald Trump, to avoid the inevitable.

Pat Cipollone chatted with the January 6 committee yesterday... for 8 hours.  That's a long time.  Word is that he didn't deny any of the previous allegations.  People were touting that he did not claim the 5th amendment.  This is a good thing.

And, finally, the committee is now planning to continue holding hearings into August.  For those who don't understand, this is not only about putting the full evil of Donald Trump on display for all Americans to see, but also about breaking apart his MAGA base.  I don't doubt for a second one of their goals is to keep as many Trumpists from getting elected as possible.

That's Fine With Me

Temperature wise, we have another cool one out there, with the high only supposed to hit 62 (F).  That's fine with me.  Seasons change.  Temps are going to warm up again, don't worry.  Starting tomorrow forecasters around here are expecting highs to be in the mid-70's again.  This means that on my day off there will a mowing of the lawn... and a movie tomorrow night.  Wednesday's a work day, but then Thursday and Friday are scheduled off.  That's fine with me.

Everything seemed fine yesterday when I got home from work, until I went upstairs to change out of my work clothes.  I found the remnants of a can of fish food (fish chips) lying on the bed.  Most of it had been consumed by one or two boxers who will remain nameless to protect the innocent.  The fish didn't like the food and often let it just sink to the bottom of the tank, so I was glad someone enjoyed it.

I had been going to use the lyrics from this song in the new book, a chapter in which Bobby Tussel hangs out at the PF on Pomfrete, but chose something else.  This is a really great Halloweeny update by Broken Peach.  Usually the guys stay silent, but not on this one and that's fine with me.  (oh, shit, I just saw Fearsome posted the same vid.  Hope you all love it!)

This is the week in which they vote to arrest Steve Bannon.  That smarmy assed sack of shit needs to be held accountable.  Of course, during that 4 year period when that disgraced degenerate, the Orange Anus, was in the White House, subpoenas were routinely ignored.  The Republicans in power were always singing a sour chorus of 'that's fine with me.'  Now floating around in a boat riddled with lies and holes and will have to pay the price.  I'm hoping Bannon gets taken into custody.  Honestly, he will shriek out more lies, but I don't care.  Having his ass behind bars is fine with me.

Catch this

Eleven miles on the bike this AM - my average heart rate dropped to 116 per minutes, and I was averaging about 68 RPM (tire revolutions per minute), which wasn't bad.  It's an improvement from 2 days ago.  We like to see improvements.
I have customers coming in this afternoon to design blinds.  Two of their windows are narrow.  The Coolaroo blinds they want are too wide for an inside mount, so they decided an outside mount was best.  So, I get the measurements yesterday and they're all for inside mounts.  When I talked to her on the phone she said, "and we've chose our pattern."  And.... it's not going to fit.  This means I'll need to call the installer this AM and see if we can use those measurements for outside mounts.  Now, why didn't they just tell him to measure for outside mounted solar shades?  Blind people.
And Paul Ryan's leaving Washington.  I wonder if this means we're going to get more half-naked selfies from him.
And John Boehner joined some sort of marijuana board...  maybe we should start calling him Bong Boehner.
Ah, and I saw somewhere that the Idiot Jerk's ex-bestie Steve Bannon is saying Rosenstein needs to be fired as well as Mueller.  Now, isn't that rich.  There's evidently some sort of bi-partisan effort under way to keep this from happening.  You see, even some crazy conservative politicians realize this would be like jumping in front of a moving locomotive.  One second the Idiot Jerk is standing there, the next second he's smashed out of the way by the cow catcher.  You see, cow catchers never really caught cows, they were just very, very bad for cows.

Democrat and Republican cow catchers
Of course, the Idiot Jerk is going to listen to the allied ass kissers and sycophants surrounding him.  I don't even want to try and imagine what kind of shit explosion we're going to see.  Maybe we should start practicing for that big day.  Do as I say:  "duck and cover, duck and cover."

Bomb This

For those who missed it, the Idiot Jerk in the White House shat a big one yesterday, all steamy and runny, right in the faces of all those Alt-Right, Make America Great supporters who put him into the Oval Office.  He claims their messiah, Steve Bannon, has "lost his mind."  A majority of Americans already knew that, so give me a break, but not those decrepit members who used to call themselves "The Tea Party."  They Love Steve.  They hate old school Republicans like Mitch McTurtle; they are the swamp the Idiot Jerk was going to drain.  And those old school Republicans?  They totally fail to understand the number of voters the Alt-Right messiah brought to the polls, but then they've never really had a strong grasp on reality.  They are too busy running around, patting themselves on the back and laughing "we're in charge, we're in charge."  You would think they would understand that they're going to need to fund the government and their Idiot Jerk leader has just alienated a large percentage of their voting block.  Dumb Shits.
There was also that funny bit about Paul Manafort's attorneys filing some sort of bogus lawsuit claiming Mueller and the DOJ investigations were too broad... which made me laugh.  These bobos don't seem to realize that the investigation is narrowly focused on Manafort's being a traitorous scumbag.  This stinks of desperation.
And the Cyclone Bomb is upon us!!
Being far enough from the Eastern Seaboard to only get steady flurries, and light snow (thought we'll be getting the bitterly cold temps) I consider myself lucky.  Those farther east?  Can you say bombogenesis?  Sounds like something from "The Wrath of Khan," doesn't it?

Oh, wait, that was the Genesis Effect, though they did use a device, which might be construed as a bomb if you want to argue otherwise.  Either way. the bomb is here, both in the shit storm consuming the Idiot Jerk's administration, and the weather.

Personal and Political Surgery

Okay, so tomorrow (sometime) I'm going to have my Right Inguinal Hernia repaired.  Right now it looks something like this, though mine is on the right hand side:

Evidently they inflate air into the area between my abs and my fat layer and do something like this:

The only bad thing about the above photo is that the Inguinal Hernia looks a lot like female genitalia.  However, after some relatively minor, out patient surgery I will end up with a chest like this:

Well... maybe not quite like that.  Hopefully I will be able to start hitting the elliptical in about 2 weeks, and the gym a week or so after that.  I dropped off my old Cannondale X6 to have the bike shop fit it to me and cycling's a great way to burn off calories and put on leg muscle.
Anyway, I took a personal day today since I want to clean a little, there are going to be people coming in and out over the next 2 days.  They didn't like it but... this is how life is, you know?
I got a chuckle when I saw our failed Senator Pat Toomey jumped on board the Roy Moore hate bashing train.  For a self-serving Conservative like him, my money says the only reason he bought his ticket was because of his own career political ambition.  Toomey has always done what the GOP wants, and right now the Party wants Bannon and Bannon's boy Moore out of the arena.  They want him out soooooo baaaaad, they are willing to let a Democrat win that Senate seat.  Shall we talk about hatred here?  Shall we talk about open warfare?  About sacrificing a solid majority vote?  Ain't it great!!  They are about to operate on themselves, without anesthesia.  If thine eye offends thee, pluck it out, and make yourselves blinder than you are already.  Can I get a smile from everybody?

The Specialist

So, yesterday was busy.  I had the day off and filled with all sorts of fun stuff, starting off with a visit to my Orthopedic Specialist at 0730.  Arthritis, you know, but just a check up, no problems.  It is odd when he says the word "degenerative' though.  That means some day everything is going to fall apart.
And then I went to my local Giant grocery shopping.  And after that I drove across Shady Hill Road to interview at my soon to be local Weis Market.  I had applied to be a fish monger but they have other ideas.  The HR Specialist did a little oohing and ahhing when I told him I managed 29 cashiers in the winter but that the number increased to 44 during the spring and summer
While I was bragging about myself, my phone started vibrating with an incoming call.  It was my Store Manager calling to tell me how much money I'd lose when I step down from my management position.  Better than I thought.  I'll get a fixed shift, either 9 - 6 or 10 - 7, both would work well for me.  So, sitting in the parking lot of my soon to be local Weis Market, I said yes.  This means I probably won't take the job at Weis if they make an offer.  And financially my "take home" pay is not going to change.  Right now I have a high percentage going to my 401K, so all I needed to do was drop that deduction by 12%.  And what am I going to be?  A Specialist.

That's right.  I'm going to specialize in flooring... and blinds... and tile.  This means I'm also going to have to learn to drive a forklift.... be afraid.... be very, very much afraid.
Anyway, I had a long conversation with my friend Betsy last evening about the approaching Trumpageddon.  She doesn't understand that starting next Friday things are going to being unraveling for the GOP, or that DT is surrounding himself with people will very shortly be at each other's throats.  You know?  Like Kushner and Bannon, the almost orthodox Jew and the Anti-Semite.  Lot's of harmony there.
Well, I'm off to work.  Need to study up on my hard woods.
