Well, we started off the day with a rightly cool November morning with the temp sitting down at a frosty 31 (F). For those of you on the Celsius gauge, that 0. Our high today will be in the mid 50s (F).
Most of the leaves are still on the trees, and in my neck of the woods, so to speak, they didn't really change color. Some of those on the maple trees turned yellow, but mostly they just stayed green, except for the Gingko. They are still in the process of turning yellow, though they have started to fall.
Yesterday was one of those meh days. I spread out the 5 bags of top soil I bought. More is needed, so I'll leave early for work and pick up another 5. I have a lot of pea gravel that needs to be covered and Howie has developed the bad habit of trying to chew them. Once his puppy teething stage has passed, I doubt if that will be a problem. This means I've got another 3 months to make sure he doesn't accidently swallow any.
A long time ago, I worked for Marriott, and last night had dinner with some of the people who were working there when I was there. It was... interesting. This was the second time I've gotten together with them. Most of them are nice, however there's a reason I didn't stay in contact with a large majority of them, they simply that interesting. They spent a lot of time reminiscing about people I didn't work with and didn't know. There was little talk of what they are doing now. I find it sad that for many of them, that was the high point of their lives.
I ordered a new Garmin watch because the one I have is 4 years old, and prices are going to go up, probably a lot. Well, it was kind of not delivered yesterday. I came home from dinner to find a box on my porch, but it was my neighbor's green food supplemental vitamins. Since she goes to bed at 5 PM to get up for work at 3 AM, I didn't know if she had my watch or not. I sent her a text, and this morning the watch that should have been delivered to me was sitting on my porch. Because this was a serious delivery issue, I filed a complaint and a 2nd watch will be delivered tomorrow. I will return that one.
Here's a Gingko sunrise.
When he crashes and burns it will be epic.
ReplyDeleteI suspect that a lot of foolish people who voted for the only man running for president are beginning to scratch their head
DeleteTrumpy is Putin’s boy toy for all the world to see. Strange how Putin was the first leader of a country to publicly commend Trumpy’s election and then a few days later had Russian tv post nudies of first tramp Melania and Trumpy on all fours with a leash.
ReplyDeleteYou best believe it’s all orchestrated to make it seem Putin and Trumpy have a rift, when in fact they go hand in glove and will between them destroy America.
They’ll be sorry they trash talk Ukraine and Zelenskyy, a country and leader who believe in freedom, not despotism.

Actually, I think it's Musky and Putin. Trump is just the side piece Putin needed to get the work started.
DeleteWe all know that DonOld is Vlad's employee of the month. He'll have to do his yearly review soon. He'll totally sell Ukraine to his boss for pennies.
ReplyDeleteAnd the shitshow that Cheeto's administration will be will have no equal. Pity it'll probably take part of the country with him...
And what's with those deliveries!!
XOXO
Everyday the shit show appears to be closer, and closer to exploding.
DeleteI had a friend who retired 20+ years ago and when we met up would always ask about the people in the division where she worked - none of whom she had ever met! I've been retired six years now and while I still have many friends at work, I realize that time moves on and if/when I stop in at work many of the youngsters will wonder who the old biddy is, despite the fact that I worked there 35 years! C'est la vie!
ReplyDeleteI was at the Marriott for 12 years, yet all the conversations had to do with things that happened after I left, so this was probably my last Marriott get together.
