Bluntness

I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

Clair Obscur

It's Wednesday and the outside temps are in the mid 60s (F), they will warm up this afternoon, though they won't climb into the 80s (F) the way yesterday's temps did.  Overall, yesterday was splendid.  Today's shaping up to be splendid, too, just a little cooler.

So much was accomplished yesterday.   My raised bed bucket garden is almost complete, the only problem being I didn't buy enough top soil.  I thought 2 bags would be enough, well, I thought wrong.  I'm going to need to pick up at least 3 more.  Also, it seems as though I was mistaken about those seeds I planted.  I thought the pepper seeds had sprouted, not, as they've grown, I've realized it was the tomato seeds that started growing.  This means that hopefully, I will have lots of tomatoes this year.  I have no problem with that, I can always dry them.

Usually, after working the weekend, Tuesdays are used for relaxing.  That was not the case yesterday.  Today is going to be the meh day, mostly because I stayed up late,  I've been playing Avowed, and I, as gamers say, "I beat the game."  The combat was fun, the story interesting, but I will admit that I'm glad to have finished it.   At this point I have no desire to play it again.  I was not overly enthused with the companions; they all talked way too much and I didn't really care about their backstories.

I am starting a new game this evening:  Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.  It's a turn based RPG by a French studio.  I can't wait to see if it's as interesting as it looks.  Once a year, the paintress awakens to inscribe a number on a monolith.  If your age matches that number, you will die that year.  Hhhhmm.

And the Orange Anus has been in office for 100 days, and while he is not universally despised, those days are coming.  He had a rally in Michigan in which he spewed out pure hatred, you know, the usual blame game pointing dirty fingers at everyone except himself.  More and more, however, it seems as though the Main Stream Media is calling him out, asking him about his lies.  You see they are more concerned about the clicks, so if confronting him and calling him out earns them more clicks, that's what they're going to give the general public.  Even, on occasion, Fox Entertainment is beginning to do this because Rupert is more concerned about the coin than kissing his ass.

I saw where UPS is planning on laying off 20,000 because of Orangie's tariffs.  Don't worry, there are more to come, and not just UPS.  One of the things that surprises me is that so many people don't understand how trade has become so globalized.   They don't know that the tomatoes that make ketchup come from Mexico, or that it's more lucrative to export our wheat than sell it to ourselves, so the wheat in your hamburger bun may come from Canada.  Anyone who believes we should be completely self-sufficient doesn't understand the business end of things, and at this point it's nearly impossible to change without crushing the world's economy.

  1. Well I completely agree. I don't think people have a deep scope of how much the tears is actually going to affect other than prices. It's going to affect a lot more than that.

I want to get some plants and flowers at Ashcombe yesterday, and while my prices weren't bad I did notice the prices of some shrubs and Specialty plans went way up depending where they came from. For example I noticed that peonies, for a good size one we're between 53 and $82. Where's last year the same size plants were about $33.

    1. We're charging $4.98 for small tomato plants, bigger plants are priced higher.

  2. Trump and his billionaires want to crush the economy so that they can divide what’s left among themselves and F over everyone else. They just don’t care, everyone else will be hurt but them. Remember, they can lose over half their wealth and they are still very, very wealthy.

    1. You're right, they don't care. Things are going to get messy.

  3. I agree with RJ: the oligarchs want Cheeto to dismantle the country so they can buy the parts. It's kinda simple.
And the MAGAts will slowly notice something is amiss: their money. And then they'll wail it was Biden's fault (Cheeto just blamed him for the 'overhang' in the economy, natch) and will excuse their Lard and Savior's mismanagement of the economy. Even Faux News, as you say is beginning to let show the fuckery is too obvious.

    XOXO

    1. Republicans always blame someone else for their screw ups, they're spineless as well as brainless.

  4. I like how in one minute he went from saying Americans wouldn't be paying more for products under the new tariffs then bashed Amazon for showing how much more Americans will pay under the new tariffs.

A seriously stupid demented syphilis brain.

  5. I've been busy in my little garden too but I've been having to buy the smaller bags of topsoil because I just can't lift the bigger bags (50L). I think if the garden centres realized we don't all have strapping husbands to carry this stuff they'd do a roaring trade from the little old ladies by selling smaller bags WITH HANDLES! Rant over!

    1. We do sell smaller bags, but not of topsoil, an when you look at the price we charge for those smaller begs, you'll understand why so few sell. Of course, we also offer loading assistance for those wanting helping putting the large bags into their vehicles.
