According to the weather forecasters, we're supposed to climb from a morning low of 51 (F) to an afternoon high of 84 (F). Will this really be happening? Who am I to question the meteorologists, their reliability is etched on paper with a number 2 pencil. If they are right about this one, then there is a possibility they are going to be correct about the bottom falling off of the thermometer on Wednesday. If our daily high is only going to be in the low to mid 60s (F), the heat will be on.
And yesterday was a good day for the book. Around 1500 words were written. For those interested, Eli, Max, and Bobby (in an apricot colored wetsuit) have just begun a conversation with Tsung Park at the old mill. Did I mention that there is a large, shiny, paper mache grizzly bear with them? There is. While I like writing the mystery parts, I also like the funny parts, too. Also the bits where Max gets to be a smartass. Whether we admit it or not, most of us are terrible smartasses in our heads; it the filters that keep things in check.
I watched Alien Earth since it's airing on Hulu and my Disney subscription doesn't run out until the end of October. For those interested, I did cancel it. Anyway, I liked the series a lot, so I'd say that's a good thing. The bad thing is that there are only 8 episodes. And the really, really bad thing is that while the series is expected to be renewed. The new episodes will not be airing until late 2027 or 2028. Remember when you would know if a TV show was renewed shortly after the last episode aired? That's no longer the case. Now it takes months. The same thing happened with Andor. The first 2 seasons were good, but in the 2 years I had to wait for season 3, I simply lost interest. And it's not just Disney/Hulu where the audience has to endure the long intermission.
And I got this in the mail yesterday.
