Well, it's Wednesday, December 31st and once again we're at New Years Eve. It's cold outside, 24 (F) and the day is not going to be getting much warmer, at least not over the next few days. I did check out my electric bill this morning and I've used less electricity this year than I did last year. Even though the thermometer has been sitting at the cool end, last December was colder. This year's average temp is 39 (F), last year the average temp was 36 (F). Those 3 degrees are a good thing.
I did not work yesterday. Chores were done. I was going to bake a loaf of bread, however, I can't unscrew the lid off the new jar of yeast I bought. I've tried all sorts of methods: holding it under scalding hot water, tapping the lid against the granite counter. I even have one of those rubber grabbing things that are supposed to help twist off lids. Nothing is working, So, this morning I'll get out my trusty tin snips and cut the damn thing off.
I did get a nice 10 mile ride in yesterday afternoon. I'm supposed to get a workout in this morning, but I want to go to the supermarket first.
And I went to see Anaconda last night. And some of the humor... well, most of the laughs, were juvenile. And I have to tell you Anaconda was one of the funniest movies I've seen in years. Big belly laughs! There are times when you need to put the cerebral on hold and just laugh at stupid stuff, especially after the freaking awful year we've just been through.
Yes, blame the Kennedy's for the cancellations at the Kennedy Center AFTER Cankles slapped his name to it.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, stupid regime.
When has he not blamed everybody else? The anger in America is growing.
DeleteI never even heard of Anaconda! As far as the Kennedy Center goes I heard the list of people I won't perform there's getting longer. And one poor musical artist canceled Christmas Eve and now the Kennedy Center and Trump Administration is suing him for a million dollars. They need to get a f****** life and get over the fact that people don't like them. He has absolutely no truth flapping his name on what was supposed to be of Memorial.
ReplyDeleteI wish you and Howie a pleasant New Year!

Haha, they can't sue the artist because his contract is with the John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts. For example, if you had signed a contract with the Neiderlander Group to stage a play in one of the New York theaters and then they changed their name to Bob and Joe and the Neiderlander Group you would need to sign a new contract, unless you agreed to the name change.
DeleteYes, Donald, blame everybody but your own stupid ass. If I was American I would never step inside anything with that vile piece of shits name on it. He ruins everything he touches.
ReplyDeleteThe Republicans are slow learners. They refuse to understand how much he is despised.
DeleteOk, so when I read the title of this post I immediately got a silly song lyric in my head. Please don't judge...
ReplyDelete"My anaconda don't want none unless you've got buns, hun..."
LOL!!!!! My brain is weird.
Happy New Year to you, my friend! May we all have a much better 2026!
I was very sorry to hear of Tatiana Schlossberg's death. That was way too young. So close to Christmas and her children are so young. I know life's not fair but that - well that's just so sad!
ReplyDeleteYes, that truly was sad for the entire family, especially her mother, whose life has been touched by tragedy so many times.
