Well, of course we have snow. How much we'll get is up in the air? (That's a joke). Originally the forecasters said our blanket of fluffy white stuff would fall from 0100 to 1 PM. That has now changed. This precipitation event started around 6 hours late, and is now expected to end around 7 PM this evening. Right now we're experiencing a heavy snowfall event.
Howie is almost 16 months old, so this might as well be considered his first snow. So far, he's not been too excited. He's ran around a little bit, but mostly he's been busy grabbing those few weeds he finds sticking up, and ripping them out by the roots. He's very good at that. Once they're out of the frozen ground, he gives them a shake and then drops them. He's having a good time doing this.
And retail at the flooring desk was slow yesterday. We were going to make plan, but mostly through contractors, and installs sold through our dot.com end of the business. Because of today's snow, our garden department will easily make plant. For some reason we have yet to understand, there is an almost unnatural number of people who wait until snow begins falling to go out and buy snow shovels, ice scrapers and ice melt. This has always been the case. I often wonder how these people make it through life without a single thought to preparedness. I own 2 snow shovels, one is kept at the front door and the other at the back door, and half of a 50 lb bag of ice melt I bought 3 years ago.
Here's a nice picture of my neighbor's untrimmed hedge in the snow. He bought himself an electric hedge trimmer and then discovered their house has no outside outlets, and they're not going to pay to have one installed.
I have given away all corded tools and now enjoy a battery-driven life, roaming my 1.25 acres freely. Tennessee has weather to deal with today. Hope the magats stay in their burrows. Kris in Ohio
ReplyDeleteMy hedge trimmer's electric, but then I have an outlet on my front porch.
DeleteSophie went out and enjoyed the snow today. She was dashing around didn't like a rabbit. As far as I'm concerned if the Republicans keep getting more pissed off, they're liable to stay home for every election. Now wouldn't that be funny?
ReplyDeleteI think Republicans staying home is a real fear of the GOP since so many in the Red states rely on SNAP to get by.
DeleteHahaha
ReplyDeleteI can imagine Howie inspecting everything for grass!
And your neighbors do not know about heavy duty extension cords? Goddess, even I know about them!
And Kegbreath found a scapegoat to appease the masses. THAT is why those members of the government made that video about the military following unlawful orders...
XOXO
Seriously, I left him out before dinner and the first thing he did was run over to a tree and begin eating grass. And this administration is going to treat the Kegsbreath murders as if they were fine and dandy.
DeleteI'd love to see Tennessee get a blue mark.
ReplyDeleteAnd to hear anyone, ANYONE, in our government say "Kill them all" should terrify everyone.
I really do think the hatred of this administration for everyone who doesn't kiss Trump's ass is a nightmare waiting to happen.
DeleteTrumpenführer and Kegsbreath have learned well from puker Putin and Natan the yahoo, as the wheels fall off the maga shit wagon !
ReplyDelete-Rj
The fact that the wheels are falling off is not going to stop them.
DeleteI'm always amazed at how people "panic" to get their snow tyres put on after the first snow fall. I mean, we live in the alps so it stands to reason we're gonna get some snow, doesn't it? Or is that just me? I also have two snow shovels and snow melt - better to have it and not need it than to do the shopping crush at the same time as everyone else!
ReplyDeleteEvidently these people must focus on something other than the real world in their day to day thinking, or maybe they simply have abandoned common sense.
