Jimmy Carter

 October 1's and it's raining... still.  It hasn't stopped for 3 days.  I think everyone in PA is relieved that we're not getting the drenching rains North Carolina had to deal with.  I feel bad for those people down there.  Once again, temps are going to hover in the lower to mid 60s (F).  Tomorrow, our temps will attempt to climb up into the low 70s (F).  That's fine with me.  Turning on the heat is not one of my priorities, so the longer I can wait to do so, the better.  

Speaking of heat, climate change kept the temps here in Central PA fairly warm last winter, and as a result I used less Natural Gas to heat my house.  Because of this, rather than have to make a payment gas bill in September, I had a $63.55 credit.  No payment necessary.  Since I'm on the payment plan, I'm hoping this will drop my monthly charge down to around $70 a month.

I set the trap for the mouse last night and no bites.  

Pete Rose died yesterday.  No loss.  Never liked him.  Charlie Hustle was all about ego.  This is why he had no problem betting either for, or against, the team he was managing.

And Jimmy Carter is 100 today.  He is the oldest living president.  I'm pleased to say that I voted for him.  He has always been resolute in his faith, and in his compassion for his fellow man.  He has become a legend.

America is going to hear quite a lot about Carter today.  There will accolades galore.  He has become synonymous with Habitat for Humanity.  He is a man who came from the obscurity of being a peanut farmer to become president.  His unbridled decency after leaving the presidency is unmatched.  He has set his mark in history that is indelible.  Believe him when he says he's going to live to not only vote for Harris, but see her win the presidency.  

Who will not praise him?  Republicans.  Carter stands for ethics, and values, and morals, all of which Republicans have sold off in their search for greed and power.  One great thing about today?  It will be a flaming dagger into the heart of Donald Trump, because in his dirty heart, he knows America will never, ever talk about him the same as they do Jimmy Carter.

Walking into Mordor

 Say hello to Monday, the start of a brand new week.  The temps this morning were cool: 41 (F), and they are only expected to climb up into the lower 60s (F).  After today, they're expected to warm up, with temps climbing into the mid to upper 60s (F).  However, it will soon be too cold to take Lily for her morning walks.

Even though business was slow in Flooring yesterday, I did manage to sell one measure.  That's not what management wants.  We didn't meet our sales goal last week and I must say this reminds me of how things were pre-pandemic.  Goals were always higher than what we could earn as a way of encouraging us to sell more, to fill the shopping cart of every customer, whether they needed the merchandise or not because you didn't want the customer having to come back to the store for something they didn't know they were going to need.  I never quite understood the reasoning since today's customers return the things they don't need.  Perhaps corporate believes customers will buy something else after taking care of their returns. 

I drilled the holes for my drainage and supply lines for my dishwasher in the wrong place, so this morning I'm going to redrill before I head into work.  Otherwise, the dishwasher is ready to be hooked up.  I can't wait.

As the world still reels from Hamas' attack on Israel, certain Republicans in this country are trying to blame it on Biden's White House.  While this will resonate with their base, I don't doubt that most Americans are thinking that these losers need to give it a break.  Tuberville is still trying to make himself important by keeping a hold on military promotions.  The majority party (Republicans) has no leader in the House, ;though they're saying they should have one by Wednesday.  Of course, know that they are Republicans, the idea of pulling their heads out of their asses will simply never occur to them.

And when I heard that the terrorists had taken hostages, the first thing to cross my mind was Jimmy Carter and the Iran hostage crisis, and I'm thinking that was their main objective.  Killing and creating chaos was a big part of the attack, but the taking of hostages was evidently their main priority.  These losers want a bargaining chip.  Soon, they will threaten to begin executing them, one by one, in a very public way.  For all the world knows, these hostages may no longer be in Gaza, but may have already been moved to multitude of safer locations making rescue that more difficult.  We are watching the dark side of Islam, one that may eventually destroy the religion.

Greatness

Well, it's Monday and this is the beginning of my weekend.  There are those of you out there who have to go to work today... well, that is how life works.  Today is probably going to be busy for me.
I finally got the check from Greenfield (Graysonview) and it was made out to The Estate of Irene Snyder.  I had never set up an estate account since everything was already in my name.  Now, it seems, I will need to do so in order to cash the check.  After the check has cleared, I will withdraw the money and close out the account.  I think this is a little bit of bullshit.
Yesterday I did have an interesting conversation with a customer who had been down in Georgia last week.  He told me he went to Sunday School there... and I kind of smiled to cover up a minor groan.  And then he said Jimmy Carter had led the service... at this small church in Plains, Georgia.  Of course my attitude did a 180 switch because I realized he was talking about the Habitat for Humanity Jimmy Carter, an American Icon.  He was talking about a president who has morals, and values, and who is the total opposite of the Moral Degenerate in the White House.  I wanted to ask questions because... you know?  Jimmy Carter is the only living president who is beloved... except by the white Republican Party.  Silly me, the first thing out of my mouth was "how tall is he?"  Duh  Did I ask what he spoke of?  Nope.  I wanted to know how tall he was.  But then stature is important.  He's a great man.  Next to Jimmy Carter those Evangelical leaders who kowtow and praise the Moral Degenerate prove themselves to be nothing more than craven and power hungry failed souls.  They are not fit to wipe his boots, or wash his feet.

I understand the Idiot Jerk in the White House had a bit of a shit-tard session yesterday because of the breaking news in the NYT and the Washington Post about is possible ties to Vlad Putin.  History has told us over and over again that those voices objecting the loudest are the most guilty.  As someone else said, "he protests too much."  He desperately wants to be the 'Greatest,' he just doesn't know he will be considered the greatest scumbag voted into the presidency.  He will be the Greatest liar to sit in the Oval Office, and the Greatest Moral Degenerate to live in the White House.  Greatness is defined not by who kisses your ass, but rather by the compassion you earn by good deeds, and the respect you earn by putting the well-being of others so far ahead of your own selfishness.  He is the sad, mirrored reflection of those who hold him dear.

Holy Water

Well, it's Thursday and I'm off work.  Tomorrow, too.  Then I go back to work for 2 days and then off for another 2 days.  It's kind of like a split vacation, isn't it?
I had the Funeral Director mail me my Mom's bill.  $423 for the obituary.  Pricey, eh?  I will pay it sometime this AM in order to get the discount.
There was an email update on my tickets to see Aquaman.  We're being moved to a different theater, from #10 to #12, most likely because they've sold so many tickets.  I've never been to an early show before so this might be... interesting.  In case you didn't know, certain individuals who are really into DC Comics, or Marvel Comics, and who really love a specific Super Hero like to dress up like that Super Hero.  This means there might be Superman, or Batman, or maybe even an Aquaman, or several of each, sitting in the audience with us.  If there's an Aquaman, I hope it's someone who works out.  Can you just imagine?
No, I didn't see any of the George H memorial service yesterday.  I did see a couple of still shots.  I understand the Idiot Jerk shook hands with every living president except Jimmy Carter.  Perhaps he was worried the skin might burn off his hands, or his face, or that his phony crown of fake hair might burst into flames.  Jimmy Carter is a very honorable, very good man.  I understand his touch is worse than Holy Water to an evil the likes of the Idiot Jerk.  Of course, I do believe Jimmy has criticized the Idiot Jerk for being a moral degenerate so the lack of a handshake may actually have been so some sort of snub.

Nah... I think the Idiot Jerk was more afraid of being set on fire.
And, on the financial front, if you're thinking the Wall Street might bounce back today, well... that might not happen.  It seems the Canadians arrested some chick named Meng, who just happens to be the CFO of Huawei, which just happens to be the super duper telecom corporation from China, for the purpose of extraditing her to the US.  China is furious.  Think ripple effect. And I doubt very much if the Canadians said to themselves "hey, let's arrest this chick and ship her off to the US."  Nah.  You can bet there was pressure applied because the Republican party has never been too smart, and with the Idiot Jerk in charge they've been dumber than bricks.  They would see her as a 'bargaining chip."  Wrong.

Roswell denied

Since 1947 people have been talking about Roswell.  At first there were just mutterings, but during the early 60's, something happened, Betty and Barney Hill.  That's when the alien talk took off, so to say.  There was a movie in 75 about them and then those dear little aliens showed up in Close Encounters.  Suddenly you weren't anybody unless you happened to have seen a UFO.  Jimmy Carter saw one.  Then, of course, there were the abductions.  It was almost like "be the first on your block to be hypnotized and discover you've been abducted."  Most of this was horse shit; people needing to be recognized as having had to deal with an anal probe.

As you can tell, I'm not truly impressed by most of the so called authorities and their invented data.  This doesn't mean I don't believe there might be UFO's, in fact, I suspect there probably are, however the logic takes over.  If they are real and they are being observed, then they want to be observed.  Which brings me back to Roswell.

This is a picture of some of the debris which since been declassified by the government as some sort of weather balloon (read possibly spy balloon).  That's what it looks like.  My main problem with the whole Roswell alien crash is that what superior species would design a craft to travel light years through space only to have it crash in Arizona?  Remember, this is a superior species so the idea of their  craft crashing is a bit ludicrous.  We can't even send men to Mars, yet they can send them light years.  Maybe they used a wormhole and didn't have to worry about going faster then the speed of light.  How many wormholes do we know of?  No matter how much you want to believe, the logic thing keeps it from working.  These ideas were formulated in a much more simpler time and place.  Some people want to believe.  That's fine, what ever makes them happy.
