Bluntness

I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

The Party of Selfishness and Greed

It's cold here in Central PA.  17 (F).  And it's not going to get much warmer.  The temps are only expected to rise another 11 degrees.  After today, however, things are expected to begin warming up.  If this year is anything like the last 2, winter should now begin to warm up.  I'm expecting this since the weather pattern over the last few weeks has matched that of previous years.  Of course, I could always be wrong.

And I did work yesterday.  Boring.  And sadly, they decided to bring in food from Olive Garden for the cashiers.  Since I am a backup cashier, I got to graze most of the afternoon on spaghetti, and linguini.  The chicken alfredo was fine for fast food.  That's one thing you always need to consider when eating at Olive Garden, or Red Lobster, or Chipotle, all of the food is packaged pre-cook.  The scrumptious, garlic bread sticks are all made in a food factory.  All the cooks at Olive Garden do is pop them in the oven for twenty minutes.  Nothing is ever cooked from scratch, and because it's fast food it's always high in fat and sodium... tons of sodium.

Howie broke the sheets!  Well, the bottom sheet.  His nails are sharp, and a few weeks ago they caused a small tear which I fixed with an iron on patch.  That patched bothered him.  It was underneath, so he could see the outline, but not the patch itself.  This morning, he dug up what he thought was buried treasure and put a foot long tear in the sheet.  It wasn't.  Later this morning that sheet will be replaced with another.  I'd thought momentarily about cutting it up for rags, then realized I still had rags left over from the last bottom sheet one of my dogs broke, so it will go into the trash.

Here's a pic I took of Harrisburg this morning.  If you look between the branches, you can see the capital building.

I don't know how many of you saw, but Lara Trump has taken her name out of consideration for the Senate seat of Marco Rubio.  As everyone on Social Media knows, this is a good indicator that Ronnie DeSantis was not going to pick her.  Was it because she would be, as everyone seems to think, a total incompetent at the job?  Or could it be a quiet swipe at the phony bastion of power the Orange
Anus thinks he holds?  Perhaps she's not being chosen because Ronnie's pissed that Orangey has been taking so many of  loyal, DeSantis Republicans.

And even Main Stream Media seems to be somewhat pleased that the Elonia / Orangey alliance appears to have run into a brick wall.  Small majorities are not a mandate.  The fact that Republicans removed funding for Pediatric Cancer Research touched a sore spot with so many Americans.  Someone said that Republicans need to learn to stop saying "no."  That might be impossible since they are the part of selfishness and greed.

Here Comes the Future

Well, a happy Sunday morning to all of you in the world!  Outside, our morning temp here in Central PA is 35 (F), that's very close to 0 in Celsius.  Predictions are for our temps to be up in the mid 60s (F) tomorrow, but then dropping back down into the 50s (F) on Tuesday.  That's fine.  Wednesday, hopefully, we're supposed to be getting more rain.

Yesterday, up until around 6 PM, we were relatively busy in the store.  We hit our forecast plan, which should keep corporate happy.  I've been telling people that if you're going to make a big purchase, they need to do so now, rather than wait, as prices are going to be going up.  Maybe that's part of it; I don't know.  No one seems happy.  I've also been seeing things on social media about buyer's remorse regarding the election.  Sorry, there are no returns on this one.

And I do work today.  It's going to be my last 8 hour shift.  As I've said before, I've changed my availability: no more 8 hour days.  The most time I'll be spending at the Orange Retailer is 6 hours, though for most of my upcoming schedules I'm only going to be there 5 hours.  I remember back when Covid hit I was concerned about getting only 20 hours a week, now I know it presents no problem.

While I cancelled my subscriptions to every Main Stream Media news outlet, I still have their front pages bookmarked, and I do read their headlines.  Besides the major headlines, there are smaller headlines and department headlines, like movie reviews and cooking.  With the recipes, they always post a picture.  This morning, in the Washington Post, they had a picture of sweet potato filled orange cups.  The photo is nice, but I can't think of a single family hosting Thanksgiving who is going to spend the time to make one of these for everyone who's going to be seated at their table.  Perhaps if you were wealthy enough to afford a cook this might happen, but otherwise this is just a pretty picture that ain't gonna happen.

Do not fear, the Trump Klown Kar will continue to fill this week, I mean, if he's not nominating mega-idiots, he naming billionaires whose only expertise is making themselves richer.  Cultists don't understand this.  They have this skewed belief that billionaires are going to enrich their world.  Ain't gonna happen.

Another not so surprising turn of events is that Ronnie DeSantis is getting a lot of push to replace Marco Rubio with Lara Trump.  Dumb little Ronnie should have seen this coming a mile away, but didn't, most likely because he was picturing his own little feet climbing the ladder of success in a Trump administration.  For someone who graduated from Yale (?), Ronnie seems to be lacking in the smarts department.  As for Little Marco, if he gets confirmed, I'm betting he'll be out in a year, maybe less.  The goal was not to give him a promotion.  Nope.  The plan was to get Lara into the Senate to help Trump consolidate power.

Also, rumor has it that Big Pharma is working hard to stop Kennedy's nomination cold, since he wants to stop research on an entire host of projects, including cancer research.

One final also.  If you have a 401k, keep you eyes pealed on Wall Street.  They prefer stability over chaos, and if those billionaires who own the majority of stocks begin slowly dumping their portfolios and the market begins to erode (as it seems to be doing now), then you may want to consider transferring your savings into something more stable.

Splitting

Well, if today hasn't started out lazy.  Sunshine is pouring in through the windows.  The temps are supposed to climb into the mid 40s (F).  A nice, quiet day is in store.  I had made plans to drive down to York to have lunch with my friend Betsy, but we've postponed that until next Sunday.  That leaves today open for me and, shock of shocks, there are no loads of laundry waiting to be washed!

The company that manufactured the bar cart I'm using in my laundry room sent me an email.  They said they would replace the part that split and asked for a photo of the split and the part number.  Honestly, their response seem on the up and up, however, looking at their reviews, fulfillment doesn't seem to be a priority.  In the mean time, I've done a search on how to fix the 'split,' and may take the matter into my own hands.

Yesterday was slow at work, at least in Flooring.  Garden was busy; lotsa people were buying trees, real and artificial.  And Christmas decorations were being sold, secular lawn ornaments were flying out of the store.  We don't sell a lot creches.  You can have your choice of either a black or white audio animatronic Santas., but just try and fine even one of the Three Wise Men.  So tell me, how's this for crass commercialism?

And, speaking of splitting, I saw where Lara Trump is exiting Fox News.  She evidently got the gig because of her last name and Fox wanted to both capitalize and commercialize on it.  She was a contributor, at least that's what they called her.  Of course, since I never watch Fox, I have no idea if she was ever anything more than a mouthpiece of the Orange Anus.

Her father-in-law did post a demented rant yesterday on Truth Social calling for the termination of the election laws in the constitution in order so the bad election of 2020 could be thrown out and he could be put back in power.  A day doesn't go by when he doesn't publicly post his desperation.  He knows that his Christmas stocking will undoubtedly be filled with indictments, which are far worse than simple coal.

Finally, the Republican party is the minority political party in the United States with about 30 million people voting for what they claim to be a socially conservative agenda.  About 20 million of those have sworn fealty to Trump.  When the indictments come, and they will be coming, this group will split away from the group considered traditional Republicans.  They may, in fact. form a new party, not that they will have any political sway.  This is a no win situation for the party.  The second the first protests starts after the first indictment, the GOP will launch itself into a death spiral.  Splitting and splintering into a thousand pieces.

His Little Nazi Boys

It's Monday and I have the day off.  Then I'm scheduled to work for 5 days in a row, 8 hours a day, 40 hours altogether.  Getting back to a normal life will be interesting.  Three weeks later they have me back to my 8 - 1 schedule, and the following week I believe I scheduled some vacation time for myself.
Yesterday one of my fellow associates called off so I was by myself until the closing associate showed up at 1:30 PM.  I was busy.  No wackos.  No assholes.  Time when very fast.
I was talking to my friend Betsy last evening and I asked her who Lara Tramp was, I mean I knew she was a Tramp by marriage but I didn't know if she was one of those Tramps who was married, and then divorced but still considered herself a Tamp.  Not that it makes a wit of difference, once a Tramp always a Tramp. I saw where she was being supportive of Tara Reade, who is also a tramp but not by marriage... yet.  I do not doubt Tara has aspirations to be an Upper Class Tramp.
During our discussion, I pointed out that in regard to Covid - 19 and couples, married or otherwise, when one is infected it's almost a sure thing their partner, spouse, or what ever... roomie even, ends up getting infected as well.  Viruses like when you sleep together, you know?  Don't you fine it interesting that Stevie Miller's pretty new wife shows symptoms and test positive and little Stevie doesn't?  I do.  Of course, one can not help but think about the Idiot Jerk's poor valet, a strapping sailor-man he doesn't know, who also tested positive a few days earlier...  Hhhmm.  And they're the only 2 with symptoms who have tested positive in the West Wing.  Could Stevie's marriage be one of... convenience?  I, for one, would not be surprised if he was far more interested in his little Nazi boys.
And I have baby peaches!

And baby nectarines, as well.  My cucumber seeds have sprouted as well.  Yum.  And tomatoes, too.
