Oh, my gosh, it's St. Paddy's Day... or is it Patty's Day? Since I don't want to offend anyone, maybe I should ask if it's St Patti's day. For many, today is just the celebration of the fact that they will most likely wake with a hangover tomorrow. There's a price for everything. Me? I've never been a huge celebrant of St. Patrick which is odd since I'm part Irish. That's right. On my mother's side. I don't know when precisely Solly Granger came to America, but for some reason he settled in the tiny, Pennsylvania town of Pine Grove. Oh, and according to my brother, Solly had bright ginger hair. That's right, it runs in my family. Ginger. But I didn't get any. Don't believe me? Here's an old, old pic I scanned just the slightest bit of because... well, I think that's obvious.
When you hit middle age you really only have two choices: you can get fat and lazy until you roll over and die, or you can can get off your ass and do something, like maybe ride a bike.
Bluntness
I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

Where's the Ginger?
I get to go back to work today. Can you feel my excitement? Maybe it's the idea that I get to work 5 days in a row, have off one single day, and then get to work for another 5. If you think I'm anything but hyper-stoked, you're correct. I do have some vacation time coming up in about a month.
And here's a shocker... Loser #45 has, on Fox News, recommended that people get the vaccine. "Even people who voted for me," he said. That says quite a lot about his stupid base.
Oh, and how amazing is it that the Russkies were trying to get him re-elected. He was their ace in the hole, the key to turning American into one of their satellite states. I do believe most of us realized this. Those that didn't were wearing tiny, red hats on their heads which squeezed the few brain cells they had into lump of lead.
Finally, Mitch McConnell's furious. The Democrats might change the filibuster, not eliminate it, but adjust it... slightly. He knows that without the filibuster, the Party of No is Nothing.

Celebrating your brisket
Sunday morning, and I slept in... even the dogs slept in... until 0600. I do feel rested. Yesterday was hectic at work... lots of customers. My sales were good. One of my customers bought over $8600 in carpet. My numbers are going to be fine for next week. On the way home I stopped off and picked up a ham Stromboli... and ate it... and felt like a bloated cow afterwards.
This morning I'm going to drive to Carlisle to find the parking garage for my jury duty. The last time I got there late and had to park on the street. They don't compensate you for that. This time I'll get there earlier. I'll also be taking the first draft with me and editing that throughout the boring, boring day... unless I get selected.
Quite a few Democrats want to be contenders in the race to evict the Idiot Jerk from the White House... many of them are finding little or no traction, like Amy Klobuchar and Kirsten Gillibrand and Cory Booker. This is Democracy at work. Anybody can run for president. Anyone of them can win the nomination, many will be cut from the venture by public opinion. The only candidate, the one who's still not running, the Republicans fear is Joe Biden. While Joe embodies "Family Values," they will stick with their Moral Degenerate. Think about that. "Family Values." Those 2 words were always burbling out of their lips and now you never hear them. Now it seems all they talk about is immigration, and keeping immigrants out of the country, and bans on Muslims entering the country. They follow a Moral Degenerate who only vaguely denounces white supremacy. By 2045 white people in the United States will only make up 49.7% of the population. The changes in diversity will become much more apparent much, much sooner. This evolutionary process terrifies them. Everything they have been telling themselves about how special they are is... wrong. There's no truth there. And like the truth, they are turning away from their claims of family values in a losing bid to maintain control. Their failure is a guarantee. Now, ain't that tough shit.
And, finally, today is St. Patrick's day. For those who don't know, I am part Irish. That's right. On my mother's side of the family. The Grangers came from Ireland. This means there is some ginger in my jeans... I mean genes. That's right, I like corned beef. You could say that I'm a bit of brisket eater. In fact, I have one soaking right now... brisket that is. Later today I will turn my brisket into something joyous. For those who don't know how, you should really learn how to celebrate your brisket. Let me tell you, it is a wondrous thing!

St Patty's, wiretapping, and corned beef
Well, it's St. Patty's Day. My friend Patty was actually born on this day XX years ago. Is she going to drink any green beer to celebrate? Probably not.
Remember the Russian woman to whom I sold carpet? Evidently she's made allegations stating that the "installer" behaved inappropriately. We suspect this is her attempt to get free carpet. Interestingly enough, the "installer" called while on the job and complained that she was making him feel uncomfortable with her comments. And she told me she was only there for a brief period because she had to leave for a doctor's appointment. We are all getting bad vibes from her. I suspect she might be a friend of Trump... well, maybe not, just a loser trying to get free carpet.
Anyway, I see the Idiot in Chief has now changed his story, and that he'd heard about the wiretapping on Fox News and read about it in the New York Times... and the GOP is not backing him up. Of course the guy who wrote the article that set his orange hair ablaze in the first place claims the sources are impeachable. Which means they're now saying the New York Times is reliable. These guys need to get their shit in one sock.
And, of course, the Idiot's new budget wants to torch everything Conservatives hate... everything. The stupid thing is never going to be passed. DOA. What surprised me about the cuts was how much Conservatives truly hate society. They do. They don't care about health care. They don't care about things that hold America together, that make a America American. They are a very two dimensional party, no depth what so ever.
Still, today is St. Patty's day. And I made a corned beef brisket.

I like corned beef. I make mine in a crock pot, no boiling here. I don't like boiled meats, I don't do a lot of spices either, just an onion and a dash of vinegar. Oh, and I cut off most of the fat and feed it to the dogs. They get to celebrate too!
