I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

Donny Has a Bad Week

Another slow Sunday has arrived.  I don't have to work today, so I'm going to lunch with some friends, and then it's a stop at my neighborhood Giant supermarket.  I put gas in my car.  $40 worth of gas.  I think that's way too much even if it is less than what they pay in the EU.  Of course, Big Oil spits out the same excuse over and over again... supplies are down.  That could be.  The true reason gas is so expensive is American Capitalism.  Big Oil does need their 5% growth every year.  They don't care if it screws you over.  They don't know you from Adam.  All they do know is that they need to keep their investors happy.  And Americans will piss and moan, and look for someone other than Big Oil to blame.

I watched "Encanto" last evening.  Very nice.  I saw the trailer multiple times and had no idea it was a musical.  I also watched several episodes of "The Book of Boba Fett."  That's good, too.  It was rated TV14, which means the violence might be a little too intense for the kiddies.  Honestly, the show isn't meant for kiddies at all, but you know there are stupid parents out there who will permit the 4 and 5 year old kids to watch the show because nothing says stupid like a parent using the TV as a baby sitter.

And of course, we all know that Donny had a bad week.  I truly wish that could be an understatement, but it isn't, mostly because I suspect there are many more bad weeks yet to come.  Thanks to the Supreme Court Mitch McConnell packed, information that had been sitting stagnant is now flowing.  The January 6 committee now knows so much.  People are beginning to anticipate.  They're wondering if Ginni Thomas' ass is going to get thrown on the Barbie to roast, if Ivanka Danka's going to to stab daddy'o in the back to save her own stinky ass, if Giuliani is going to have a jail cell named in his honor, to name just a few.  And the New York Attorney General is humiliating his constantly, dousing his lies with facts and setting them afire.  I liked the bit about his apartment in Trump Tower that went from 30,000 square feet for tax purposes, down to 10,000 actual square feet.  Wow, I can smell the smoke and see the cinders from here.

Null and Voiding Trump

Now, wasn't this past week fun?  Be honest.  I mean, there was a March 4 Trump which was attended by thousands.... that's right thousands... but not in one city.  Trumplodite support couldn't manage thousands in just one city, but they did manage to turn out 40 or 50 here and there.  The Huffington Post had a dose of reality with their report that "Tens of supporters showed up."   To put this into some perspective, GOP Townhalls have been drawing crowds of up to 1000.  Now isn't that 'slap you knee' funny?
And then, of course, there were the Tweets about the wiretapping.  Evidently the Idiot in Chief read something in Breitbart about Obama wiretapping Trump Tower, and Breitbart sourced this article to a "crazy to the right" radio talk show host and published it without any sort of vetting, or verification because it made their blood boil.  And, of course, this article pushed the Idiot in Chief even farther from the path of reality, which is something people really need to pay attention to, this innate ability of his to fixate on the absurd.  Which, of course, brings up the question of his mental competency.  This is a 70 year old fool who relies on ass-kissers to define his reality.  This is about as close to hysterical as you can get.

And here's something else to ponder.  If DT is mentally unbalanced, and either removes himself, or is removed by others from his position, what does that do to all of the Executive Orders and the legislation he has signed.  Does his mental illness null and void everything?  These are things we need to think about since rarely a day passes without another small revelation about his instability.  And what does it say about the GOP, this fact that they don't care how crazy he is, just as long as he gives them what they want.  This is all going to play out very badly for both the Idiot and the Republicans.  And that's exceedingly funny.

Trump l'oeil

A few weeks ago there was some sort of a 'to do' up in Chicago about Donald Trump having his last name emblazoned on one of his buildings in very large letters, no doubt to match his ego.  The people of Chicago, or at least most of them, hate the idea.  He, on the other hand, doesn't care what the people think, he wants his last name on a building and he's going to have his last name on a building.  I thought the episode rather amusing.  In truth this is really Trump l'oeil, you know, the artistic term for making something phony look real.  Oh, wait, I'm wrong, that's trompe l'oeil... well, isn't it kind of the same thing?  Just because something is solid doesn't mean it has substance.  I was at the Trump Casino in Atlantic City a number of years ago and was simply amazed by how superficial everything was, how the eye was meant to stray not focus.  It was like being on a Hollywood set where illusion fools the eye.  Putting his name on a building in Chicago is the same thing simply because there is no permanence there.  Fifty years from now that building may have been razed to make way for something even more grandiose, or it may be a park, or, most likely, a slum tenement.  Things change.

Trompe l'oeil, the real thing

At 68 years of age, Mr. Trump may have 15 to 20 years left before he shrugs off his mortal coil.  Shortly there after, if not before, what ever relevance he had will begin to fade.  Those few people who actually cared will die off as well.  This is how history builds itself, with the passing of time.  A century from now no one will care about his silly sign, or his silly ego, they will have been forgotten.  Not that there will not be digital pictures, but the people one hundred years from now will look at them with the vague, passing interest we look at those take in the early 1900's.  This is nothing more then the blink of an eye, truly a Trump l'oeil.
