Bluntness

I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

Moments

Hello weekend, what ever that means.  There was a time when everything shut down on the weekends, that is no longer the case.  Many who have a Monday thru Friday full time job, now work part-time on weekends so whatever pertinence the weekend has is now relative.  Things are always changing.  Will actual weekends ever come back for a majority of American workers?  I doubt it.

Yesterday, on my day off, I did relatively nothing... well, that's not totally true.  Laundry was done, the bathroom was cleaned, I did my grocery shopping at my local Giant.

Oh, and Will Smith has resigned from the Academy of Arts and Sciences.  It's kind of a little late for his fettered anguish and tears.  Slapping a comedian on live world wide television because you didn't like their joke is more than an 'oh... Shit!' moment.  Thanks to that moment, so much dirt is being shoveled about the Smiths, that his fans are experiencing and very serious WTF moment.  I wouldn't be surprised if his next staring role isn't going to be his Sharknado 37.

My peach tree is blossoming.

I understand that old, and very white, Mitch McConnell is doggedly trying to upset the apple cart for Ketanji Brown Jackson's nomination to the Supreme Court.  Well, I don't see why anyone should find that surprising.  I wonder if he's worried she might Clarence (I'm an Oreo) Thomas look phony.

And yesterday, the House of Representatives passed a single item bill capping the cost of insulin at $35 and 193 Republicans voted against it.  They didn't offer and substantive arguments as to why they wanted to kill the bill.  Of course, we do know they love their corporate greed more than they do life.

Time

Well, it's Tuesday and I slept late.  I stayed late, just in case you're curious.  I watched The Adam Project with Ryan  Reynolds.  Like a lot of movies on Netflix, it starts strong but then...  Time travel stories have always had problems and this movie has them in spades.  The greatest tenet about time travel is that you don't tinker with the past.  Well, the writers flushed that tenet down the toilet when they sat down in front of their computers.  They warn the audience about tinkering, and then they tinker like hell.  Relying on science is always helpful when making a science fiction movie.  Of course, I tend to think about things like that.  If you're one of those people who like to simply sit there and let the images flutter in front of your eyes, this movie just might be for you.

I'm picking up Biggie's med today.  He's getting a full month's supply of the gabapentin.  I'm buying it from the Vet pharmacy, which means I will have to grow another arm or leg, but then his next refill will be coming from Pet Meds.  He will be taking 2 pills every 12 hours for the rest of his life.  I am so glad he eats anything.  All I have to do is tell him it's a baby biscuit and it's down his throat.

Will Smith's slap is still reverberating across the country.  He apologized on social media.  However, the apology sounds rather trite after you watch and listen to the uncensored version.  Nothing bangs up respectability as much as publicly shitting in your pants.

And finally, of course, Donald (the Orange Anus) Trump got some more bad news yesterday.

His time is running out.  He, and the Trump crime family, need to sit for their public depositions within 23 days.

Time is flying fleetingly fast for Ted Cruz.  Connections are being made between him and John Eastman,, the corrupt attorney Trump turned to to steal the election.

There also turns out to be a time lapse, a full seven hours long, in the communication logs from the White House on January 6.  That's a ticking time bomb, you know?  Nixon had one, and now so does Trump.

Aladdin... and other stuff

Today is Wednesday and it's my 'get to go back to work for pay day.'  I'm not excited at all. The idea of working for 5 days, having 1 day off and then working for another 5 days just isn't tickling my fancy.
I went to see "Aladdin" last night.  I had the same problem with the live version that I had with the animated version.  While the first 15 - 20 minutes are interesting, the fun doesn't start until the genie makes his appearance.  This is my way of saying Will Smith does a really good job, and he is really blue... most of the time.  In the animated film "Never had a Friend like Me" is entertaining, in the life action film it is a fully blown showstopper.  The film takes on a whole new dynamic once his lamp gets rubbed.  Also, hats off to Disney for using a cast which is of middle eastern decent.  Sadly, it seems as though only genies get to take their shirts off.

In case you missed it, the Idiot Jerk in the White House held his kick-off rally last night.  His campaign slogan is "Keep America Great" and he was surrounded by white people wearing MAGA hats.  I'd have posted a picture but I don't think my security software could handle all of that corrupt data.  The last thing I want is for an image of him to crash my expensive gaming PC.
After over a month, I've finally gotten back on my bike, yesterday for over 5 miles.  I've been riding the CBTT Concord.  That's actually the Charlie Baker Time Trial for Concord.  There are some nice little hills which give the legs a good stretch.

The only thing odd is that the ride was filmed (that's right, on my monitor it actually looks like I'm pedaling down the street) in the late fall or late winter since there are no leaves on the trees.  That must have been one cool ride.  Once I get this nailed, I might try the ride around Red Rocks Amphitheater just to see what that looks like.
