Bluntness

I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

Remaking the World

Well, the crappy thing about today is that I have to go to work.  After that, I'm off for 4 - so I guess in the long run things even out.

There was a bit of a shit show yesterday with Biggie's meds.  His carprofen is supposed to be auto ship every 2 weeks.  Yesterday was 2 weeks since it was last delivered.  So, I went in the Chewy and discovered the autoship date was 3/24, which was 3 weeks.  I contacted them to have it fixed and... they contacted my vet to get authorization. However, my Vet had gone for the day, so some smart person in the office sent it to another Vet who decided that before he approved it, Biggie needed to have $145 blood work completed.  This didn't include a $60 visit charge.  I got very... testy.  The only reason it was sent for approval was because it went from a flavored tablet to a chewable tablet.  He has 2 refills left on his prescription.  I called Chewy & they fixed their... mistake meaning no authorization was needed.  His meds shipped this morning.  Oh, and the Veterinary Practice I take my dogs to has a much clearer picture of my and my expectations.

Here's a pic of Lily preparing to fall asleep on the futon.

The BBC has an interesting read on how Putin is redrawing the world, though not the way he had planned.  Two points I found fascinating were: Brexit had turned the EU into and dysfunctional entity, and Trump's presidency had created enough chaos in the US to make it fundamentally useless.  Of course, nearly a month into a war the world understand how badly Putin shit in his pants.  As a result, he will continue to slaughter innocent people; the only way for him to save face, he thinks.  Every waking hour he proves himself to be a bigger loser than anyone ever thought he could be.  Thanks to him, the United States is not running this show, rather we are participating with our European Allies.  NATO is proving itself to be a force to be reckoned with, something Putin has always feared.  He prefers small, independent countries he can isolate.  That is not the case.  He is remaking the world, and it's got going to benefit him one single bit.

Free Range

Well, it's Monday, Labor Day, and a paid holiday, and not only that, I don't have to work.  There will, however, be unpaid work done here.  Laundry is stacking up.  I need to drive to my local Giant Supermarket for a few food necessities for the up coming week (veggies).

I was at my brother's for a small get together yesterday.  It was drizzly.  I think that's a new word.  I say this because I've just used it in The Body in Repose and Word highlighted it for spelling.  I like it, so I'll let it stand.  Anyway, during the conversation, some of his free range chickens entered the picture, literally.

Biggie gets Carprofen, a doggy NSAID, because like me, he has a touch of osteoarthritis.  My vet would rather I purchase his med from them, rather then through Chewy, however Chewy is much cheaper.  A tip of my hat to my sister in law (Jacquie (sp)) for giving me a work around for this problem.

And since it is a holiday, the news is slow.  Usually nothing politically groundbreaking happens on a holiday.  So today, in spite of the chores I need to do, will be spent relaxing, especially since I didn't get much of that yesterday.  Tomorrow, I'll be posting a family picture.  Now, won't that be nice.

So it Begins

Well, this is my Friday... again and I'm rather pleased.  For my weekend, Wednesday and Thursday, the temps here are predicted to reach into the upper 60's to mid 70's (F).  However, on Friday the thermometer is going to drop back into a more seasonal range.  This is fine with me.

More ornaments arrived yesterday.  And on Saturday my Chewy order arrives.  So, you ask, what do the two have in common?  I'm going to use the large, empty Chewy boxes to store the ornaments, one box for each season.  Repurpose, Repurpose, Repurpose.

Of course, everybody is talking about the Harry and Meghan interview....  There, I gave it a mention.  Oh, my, you'll think I don't care about the Royals.  Honestly?  Not really.  He's cute.  She's pretty.  He was born into Royalty.  She wasn't.  I don't know anything about Royalty.  In fact, I had to do a bit of research into Nobility because of Lord Doyle Adair, and still I know very little, except that they're not as stodgy as everyone might believe.  I present for your reading pleasure the opening paragraph as evidence.  This is how it begins:

Nobility.  I do not really understand the concept that some people are more noble than others.  As an American, I know extraordinarily little about Lords and their Ladies and even less about Dukes and their Duchesses.  I have no idea if an Earl is married to an Earlette or not, or if that’s even his wife’s title.  To me, an Earlette sounds like a black girl group from the 60’s.  So when my friend Canada Howard told me she was marrying into nobility, one Lord Doyle Adair, from Adairton, Scotland, I said the first thing that came to my mind.  “Shit.”

I understand Loser #45 quietly slipped up into NYC.  Legal problems.  The investigation is growing, like that's a surprise to anyone.  His Chicago Tower and all the dirty little financial tricks surrounding it are now being put under the microscope.  I don't even want to imagine how he'd be torturing us if he were still on Twitter.  The wonderful truth is the longer this goes on, the more of a loser he becomes.  He will end up being the biggest loser America has ever seen... oh, wait, I think he's already got that title under his belt.

Cancelled!

We had rain yesterday... mostly drizzling showers, and then more last night.  The forecast for today is again drizzling showers, but only occasionally.  I'm satisfied with that.  I've got peppers (jalapeno and problano) and tomatoes.  I've got some cucumbers, too, but they're teeny weeny.  Now, what in hell am I supposed to do with a small pickle?
One of my fellow specialists is transferring down to North Carolina.  His daughter and grandchildren live there.  While the transfer doesn't go through until September, he's over 65 so he has that great chunk of personal time given to us by the big Orange Retailer I work for; I suspect he's going to be using a big chunk of that time, limiting his presence in the store.  This is a slow time of year anyway.
Chewy dropped off another big bag of dog food for me yesterday - 47 pounds (21.31 kilos).  That lasts them for a month.  This is way cheaper than buying the dog's food at Giant.  I may not get the gas points, but the money I'm saving easily makes up for that.
Oh, and by the way, the RNC Convention in Jacksonville has been cancelled.  Supposedly this is another pivot by the Idiot Jerk, another failing attempt to revive his dying campaign.  My money says he doesn't want to get to Florida and find out someone has packed his acceptance speech among the bodies.  Not that he would be the one to go in and dig it out.  Nope, most likely he'll send in Mark, or Kayleigh, or possibly Kellyanne.  Wouldn't it be a hoot if it was Ivanka Danka?  Picture her in a stylish HazMat suit prowling between the corpses...  hell, I don't think she'd have a problem.
This latest attempt is going to fail, of course.  Can you imagine the entertainment value of the Idiot Jerk's loss?  You can bet Donnie Junior's going to be out selling tickets.  Anything to make a buck.
