Arson and Attempted Murder

 Well, we had a red sky this morning.  The temps are in the mid 40s (F).  We will have added another 10 degrees onto that by the time we reach our highs in the mid 50s (F) this afternoon.  Our extended forecast calls for partially sunny days, with showers and thunder storms popping up during the afternoons.  For the past few years most of our Spring rains have fallen in May, this year is seems as though we're having the April shower they used to talk about, the ones that bring May flowers.  One fact is certain, my lawn is going to need mowing sooner rather than later.

Yesterday, being Sunday, I worked a full day.  Flooring ended up having a banner day, though not bannerly enough to make the week successful.  I did sign up a customer for a credit card.  That means I'll get an additional $5 on a paycheck.  Whoo Hoo!  Corporate does think that credit is the answer for everything.  For some people, it is.  I have a friend who is very deeply in debt, and she has mentally conditioned herself to the fact that a certain percentage of every pay check will go to paying that debt off.  Rather than cut back on using credit, she keeps adding to it, and I learned a long time ago that bringing up the subject is useless.  As I said, she has mentally conditioned herself.  This is a big problem with all too many people,

For those who didn't hear, a wacko named Cody Balmer broke into the PA Governor's Mansion and tried to set the place on fire.  He had a hammer with him and, according to things he'd written down, planned to beat the Governor to death.  To put this into even greater context, Governor Shapiro is Jewish, and this arson and planned murder happened on the first day of Passover.  Our governor is also a Democrat.  Cody Balmer hates Jews and Democrats.  Guess who Cody Balmer really likes?  I've been in this room.  It used to be beautiful.

And I guess that Wall Street is going to be rockin' and rollin' in the real world today, especially after Secretary of Greed Lutnick said that the exceptions on laptops and cell phones were only intended to last for 30 days.  To make things worse, the Orange Anus posted on his social media account that there were no breaks.  Everybody is going to pay.  

What goes through a Fascist's mind

When is Sunday not a day of rest?  Whenever I'm scheduled to work.  Like today.  Will it be busy?  Well, it's difficult to say.  We are moving into carpet season, however, prices are what I would call exorbitant.  I was talking to a single father yesterday who wants to carpet his basement.  I did an estimate for him and he was like "woah!"  At that point I should have brought up our credit card, where he'd get 0% financing for 18 months.  I didn't because he's a single parent.  If he would have asked about our card, I'd have obliged him, but that's a decision he would need to make on his own.  He knows his finances, I don't.

We hired a new associate who rides mountain bike.  I don't mind walking mountain trails, but riding them?  Not for me.  He was telling me how he just bought some sort of shock absorber for his seat.  Knowing an opportunity when I see one, I asked him if he wanted a bike stand to do repairs and tune-ups (I bought one a few years back and used it once) and he said sure.  So, I got my stand up from the basement, dusted it off, and will hand it over to him this afternoon.

The Washington Post had a really interesting article about walking.  According to medical researches walking just 11 minutes a day will supposedly help you live longer.  While I found it interesting, I couldn't help but wonder if it was written for those who only exercise is to walk from their bedroom to their living room, with occasional forays into the kitchen to nuke a taquito or two.  By saying this, I'm not specifically targeting senior citizens, but for quite a number of them this seems to be the extent of their daily workout.  

A diminished CPAC is over.  LibsofTikTok spoke.  Her audience was non-existent. 

I can only wonder what went through her fascist mind when she looked out and saw all of those empty seats.  Was she disheartened?  Or did her hatred compensate, lie to her and tell her she's not a losing sack of shit.  

Kim Guilfoyle showed up and did her 'I wannabe a stripper dance,' to a slightly larger crowd.  Someone wondered how God's lightening bolts could have missed so badly.

And, of course, The Donald was there.  Sorry, no picture.  His crowd was larger, but it was anything but standing room only.  He spent some time attacking Ronnie D, who wasn't there.  I saw one photo of him and... well, I think he needs to hire a new makeup artist.

When I brought CPAC up to a friend, he just laughed.  This event, with it's lackluster attendance, is a visual demonstration on how the Republican party is splintering.  And stupid Ronnie DeSantis?  He's going to splinter it even more.  He's one of those desperate dumbshits who will never understand that America will never have an authoritarian government.  That thought never enters his fascist mind.

 

Boosters all around

 And I thought today was supposed to be sunny and dry... well, that forecast was wrong.  Now I understand there's a good possibility we're going to be getting rain, with the occasional thundershower thrown in for good measure.  No sun, the clouds are going to be hanging low, bundled in a swathe blanket just a few hundred feet above the tree tops.  This is not at all what I was hoping for.

Work was slow yesterday.  I did sign 2 individuals up for credit cards.  I don't push credit.  I don't want to be even remotely responsible for a customer getting in over their head in debt.  However, that being said, if someone walks up to me and asks to sign up for a credit card, I will sign them up.  That happened twice yesterday.  I can never, ever remember that happening before.   Management will be very happy.

Yesterday, I also sat down with our store HR person and told her I had picked my day to go part-time.  Her response?  "Don't tell me, you need to talk to your manager."  Slacker.  I used to do her job.  I know how things work.  She has a habit of sloughing things off on management that she doesn't want to deal with.  Oh, well, this is how it goes.

Oh, and there's a lot of talk about how we vaccinated are going to need to get a booster shot.  Where does the line start.  I want to be part of that club.

I saw where Loser #45 tried to spin the loss of the candidate he supported into another lie, at least that was the very minor headline in one of the media outlets I scan daily.  His base is small, loud, and now evidently prone to failure.  

And what about that infrastructure deal.  What was it?  Seventeen Republicans jumped off the sinking ship?  And Susan Collins said "bipartisanship works?"  America is watching.  The hardliners are fuming loudly

And then, of course, there is the January 6 Commission.  So many Republicans are wishing their phony Benghazi commissions, all 3 of them, had struck this much of a cord with the American public.  The truth is going to kick them back under the rocks from whence they came.
