Bluntness

I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

Like Pigs

My work week starts today.  Who knows what it will bring.  Covid cases are on a rise in Pennsylvania.  Stupid people went on vacation... down south.  They went to the shore.  And they've brought back souvenirs to give to all of their friends and neighbors, and to their work associates.  Wear a mask.
The temps are forecast to go up to 91 (F) today and continue to slowly climb into the upper 90's by Sunday and Monday.  But, if Accuweather has any validity, theyll be coming down to the mid 80's after that.  Not a lot of rain in the forecast, but this is our dry season.
The RNC is evidently seriously looking at outdoor venues in Jacsonville since they are no expected to to try and move their entire convention outside.  According Weatherspark, summers in Jacksonville are long, hot, and oppressive.  Ain't no AC outside.  Those attending the convention are going to be sweating like pigs... though to be perfectly honest, I don't think pigs sweat... much.  I checked.  They don't... much.  Sweating like pigs has more to do with pig iron cooling.  This doesn't mean those convention goers aren't pigs, they're just not going to sweat that much, they will need a sty to wallow in... I guess that's one good reason to move the convention outside... now all they have to do is find a pig sty large enough.
True to form, the Idiot Jerk in the White House has claimed more white people die at the hands of police than black people.  However, any imbecile who looks at the ratio of white people to black people knows he's wrong.  Of course, this was directed at his white supremacist base.  There's a little video that comes with that link.  If you watch it, you'll see he's sweating like a pig... oh, that's right, pigs don't sweat.
I rode through Rome yesterday, almost 20 miles.  I got to see the Colosseum from both sides.  There were not a lot of tourists because the ride was filmed on a Sunday morning.  The last three miles are a time trial up the Tiber.  It's not as wide as I thought it would be.  Oh, and I did hit my Trek Challenge goal of 100 miles.  That doesn't mean I'm going to stop riding.
And finally, here a shot of my 3 little angels.

They're about the size of a quarter and eat like little piggies.

Hoarders vs Pigs

There is a show on A & E which I used to occasionally watch called Hoarders.  I don't anymore because something happened, it transitioned from a show about people who hoard things to a show about people who are, for lack of a better word, pigs.  The original episodes concerned themselves with individuals who bought thousands and thousands of dollars worth of unnecessary items and filled their homes with this clutter:  dolls, and clothing, and purses, and knick-knacks, and most of it was boxed or in bags.  You might barely be able to walk through the stacks of clutter, but you could walk.  Those shows were interesting because there were psychologists and social workers involved, and they always ended with a blurb about the subjects, whether they were on counseling or not, and how well they were doing; if they had overcome their hoarding tendencies.

A hoarder's treasure trove

But as I said, something changed, perhaps because the producers wanted to increase their ratings, and they became increasingly about individuals who preferred living in squalor.  Hoarders tend to be collectors on steroids, there is no stop mechanism.  Pigs are too lazy to throw out the garbage.  I think the last episode I watched concerned a woman and her daughter who would eat outside in their van because there was no space in the house.  The rooms were filled with garbage rather then clutter; soft drink clans, pizza boxes, fast food bags.  The camera was showing you first hand what it was like to live in a pig sty.  When they revealed that this woman had a guinea pig sleeping in her bed and that she never cleaned up the shit and piss - that's when I realized the show had turned completely.

A pig's sty

In spite of what some would have you believe, this is not hoarding, this is nothing but stupid laziness.  The focus had changed direction, it was now on garbage and squalor and people who are pigs.  These people have serious mental issues.  Turning them into entertainment is rather repulsive.  None of them are going to get the help they need to pull their lives together.  No matter what friends or relatives may say, once the camera leaves they're pretty much on their own.  Unlike hoarders, they cannot change.  In no time at all they'll be pigs again.

After the weigh in (pt A)

Okay, so now that you've climbed on and off the scale and and didn't shit a brick because you've already known for some time that you're fat, it's time to put a little time into debating whether or not you're do anything about it.  Most of you are going to say ‘yeah!’ with umph emphasis, it’s the New Year isn’t it, when everybody makes resolutions?   The problem is that most of you, especially if you're a porko, if you look like one of these,

you are going to fail miserably; so much is stacked against you.  Taking off poundage means changing your diet and your lifestyle, you can’t do one without the other and for you to be successful this needs to be a permanent change.  Temporary is bullshit.  Those who only want to take off a couple of pounds because they’re going to a reunion, or a wedding, or they need to fit into that old suit for some reason, have already failed.  When you binge diet you always gain back a pound or two more because you need to compensate for “the pain and suffering” of limiting your food intake.  You may not think you’re doing it, but you are slowly, ounce by ounce adding to the corpulent roundness that makes you the porko you are.  This is one of the reasons you gained 20 plus pounds during your middle-age years.  Think of it as the price you paid for sitting on your ass every evening watching TV. Taking it off is going to be much more difficult then putting on!  You'll be sweating either your cojones or you tatas off before you can once again look at your naked reflection in a mirror and give yourself a little leer because even at your age your finding yourself a little hot.
