Bluntness

I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

Wow moments

Thursday morning.  Showers and rain are in the forecast.  The dogs came in after their first pee of the day a little drizzled, not enough for them wanting to be towel dried.  They love being towel dried, even if the sun is shining overhead.

I had 2 nice sales, one from a gentlemen who said, "they just deposited the money in our bank," and another from a woman who said "thank you, Joe."  Both had debit cards, and both had limits as to how much they could spend, which meant using 2 different cards, making the payment process a smidgen more difficult.  Not much.  I said to the woman, "quite a few people are doing with those checks what they're supposed to be doing," and she smiled... and smiled... and smiled.  Wow!

Guess what I bought myself:

I mean, I've been writing about a murder in Scotland, and there is a bit of piping in the book.  I found out last evening I have to practice standing up.  The dogs love it.  Every time I pipe a note they have a Wow! moment.  Besides, if I'm halfway good, I might actually buy a set of pipes... maybe even a kilt, and not because I want to adjust my sporran in public.

I saw where the Republican Attorney General from Ohio has sued to block some of the stimulus package.  I glanced at his complaint briefly.  Something to do with the money going to the states and the specificity of how the monies are used.  Really, all you need to know is that he's a Republican and as such his main complaint is not constitutionality, rather he's trying to blunt the popularity of the stimulus packaged.  His job is on the line.  There are, I believe, 17 other Republican run states that are also complaining.  The want to infuse the idea among their constituents this is one horrible package for the sole purpose of tampering down the popularity.  This package is horrifying them.  The might loose control.  Believe me, if they think this is horrifying, they should hear me practicing on my chanter.  Wow!

The Friendly Pollinator

Ah, my Sunday has arrived.  A day for relaxation... kind of... I guess.  Right now we have spotty drizzle and fog.  The temps today in Central PA are supposed to hit 79 (F) which his hot for October.  In fact, for the next 5 days we're supposed to be sitting on the warm side.  It makes me wonder how this winter's going to be... global warming, you know?  Last year we had no snow.

I'm getting a new HRM chest strap today.  I've been using one that is old... maybe 7 or 8 years old and there are some connectivity issues.  Nothing lasts forever.  It was used heavily and was well worth the price I paid.

Yesterday I went to the gym as well as rode San Remo's 14 mile ride.  Of course, I then went and ate about a pound and a half of pasta and half a loaf of bread... and enjoyed every calorie.

And, as I was going to my neighborhood Giant supermarket yesterday, there was a bee rubbing pollen from one of my dahlias.  Well hello friendly pollinator!

In case you were wondering, there were also bees on my zinnias.

Of course, the Idiot Jerk is clamoring for Billy Barr to indict Hunter Biden.  Can you smell the stink of burning desperation?  Funny thing I read:  if Barr does as the Idiot Jerk wants, he will prove himself to be the biggest political hack in this country's history.  Gee, I thought he'd already proven that point.

There's also another failed stimulus package in the works.  The Idiot Jerk wants congress to go big... he needs the points.  McConnell is saying "no way, not before election day."  Everybody except the Republican Party realizes this is necessary.  The economy is slipping into darkness because their president didn't handle the virus correctly.  China did a full lockdown, their economy is reviving.  The Idiot Jerk played golf instead.  There had been talk of a 2nd wave... and we're heading into our 3rd because of the Republican Party.  This is going to crush the Midwest, and our recession is going to be far deeper.

Dirty Desperation

Okay, so I forgot to turn my alarm clock on for this morning.  Sleeping in is fun.  The dogs love it!  So do I.

Yesterday I got quite a lot accomplished.  My storm door is almost completely installed. There are just some minor bits and pieces needing to be screwed on.  I am pleased.  Since I found myself paying less and less attention to Greek, I loaded a Rosetta Stone German course into my writing laptop.  I've often felt I should learn the language since I am part Pennsylvania Dutch.

I decided to move my grandparents black, steel clock from my dresser down to my desk.  It doesn't always work, but it looks good there.

I also drove my ballot to the Post Office.  Early voting by mail is great.

So, yesterday the Idiot Jerk said he was cutting off talks on a new stimulus package until after the election, saying "once I'm re-elected" a new package would be passed.  Susan Collins, who's going to be fired because she's a rat-bag Republican, went into panic mode, as did a number of other struggling, Republican senators.  In case you didn't know, this is the Idiot Jerk's version of Blackmail: vote for me and you get a package, vote for Biden and you'll have to wait.  Well, overnight he changed his mind and is now promising $1200 for every American.  Like that will ever happen while the Republicans hold the Senate.

Right now their focus is on getting their Cracker Jack Crazy Christian Handmaid into the Supreme Court.  They are so damn stupid.  America has told them to wait until the next president takes office.  Of course, there's very good possibility they will be a minority party by then, so their going to try and ram this nomination through.  They don't realize history is going to see their actions as nothing more than dirty desperation.

Oh, and Pennsylvania as veered seriously into Blue territory... and the Idiot Jerk is shrieking 'fake polls.'  Surprise, there are 800,000 more registered Democrats in this state then there are Republicans.  Damn!  Vote Blue so we can bring in the power washer and blow away their dirt.
