Democrats Triumph!

Well, we have another cool start to the day.  Right now, our outside temp is 43 (F), though if the forecasters are correct, we'll be hitting the upper 60s (F) sometime this afternoon.  There will be some wind and a front moves through, but not rain.  That's a bummer as we are under a Fire Watch.  Later in the week we may get a drizzle or two, but right now the forecast is for dry, dry, dry.  That's not a good thing for this time of year.

As has been trending lately, yesterday, Tuesday, much was accomplished here.  I put the final dab of paint on the trim in the bathroom.  I still need to pain a folding door, but that will happen soon enough.  Laundry was done.  Some preliminary work was done on my cover art.  Words were written.  Dinner was a mushroom and beef burger.  It was delicious.  And then I played Outer Worlds 2 for a bit.  Overall, I was pleased.  Today seems to be turning out the same way.

The only disappointing thing was the air compressor at my Giant Supermarket.  That seasonal thing has happened where I need to puff up the pressure in my tires just the tiniest bit.  Whenever this happens, I usually go to the puffer at my local Giant.  Well, yesterday it wasn't working.  The attendant came out and looked at it.  He told me that some of the employees say that it works fine, but that there are a number of complaints for other that it doesn't.  Every time I swiped my card, and yes, they do charge you for air, I got a transaction voided comment.  So, I decided to go across the street to my local Weiss (pronounced Wise) Market.  Damn, wasn't there a line of cars with drivers wanting to do the same thing.

And, of course, yesterday was a good day for Democracy!

And it wasn't just a few wins here and there.  Nope!  Democrats won all across the country.  Mississippi's Republicans lost their Super Majority to 3 Democrats.  Three Democratic governors were elected, 2 of which flipped from Republican.  In fact Virginia Republicans lost 13 of their House seats.  Mamdani in New York!  Wowza!  I understand that Cuomo has yet to concede even though the spread is quite wide. In Pennsylvania, we retained our 3 Democratic Supreme Court judges for another 10 years.  Across the country Republican seats flipped Democrat.  This is all a great thing.  Yesterday was a stunning rebuke to the Orange Asshole!  The biggest problem for Republicans is the Orange Asshole.  Even though his killer approval rating is only 37%, that number is inflated.  So many people in this country simply despise not only him, but his cabinet choices, in fact they despise the Republican party.  The No Kings peaceful demonstrations were the tip of the ice berg.

Onto a bit of other amusing news:  Reports are that ACECO, the company that demolished the East Wing is complaining because they haven't been paid.  Have they never paid attention to how the Orange Asshole works?

  2. It seems to me like they are showing a strong message from voters. It’s interesting how people are reacting to the ongoing political scene. Quite an eventful and satisfying day indeed

    1. You're right, it is a strong message, however the Republicans will ignore it because it's not the message they want to hear.

  4. It is 54 degrees here in toronto, looking like it might rain. I bet the ketchup is flying at the white lago. Cuomo probably thinks his buddy donny can put the fix in for him to win even though he wasn’t close. The bull dozers have learned why NOT to do business with the orange turd. Gigi

Mamdani must have the greedy and power hungry establishment shaking after his win, GOOD !
Virginia for the win with a royal flush. :) So proud of Virginia !
Glad to see Pennsylvania is keeping fair and competent judges, not corrupted ideologues selected by the Federalist Society.
    And wasn’t Mississippi a surprise !
    It’s a great morning in America !

  6. It was great for the Dems.
I especially liked New York and New Jersey. And Detroit!
    PA did well, also.
And Cankles and Co were running around saying it was 'not a referendum' on Cheeto. Sure, Jan.

    XOXO

    1. He was on every freaking ballot! 71% of Americans say it's the economy. What a shame Republicans only want to please billionaires.

  7. I am happy 😊 for the Dems. Here in Montreal, Canada it has gotten chilly and we are getting rain 🌧 as well. I really don't mind, because after a very hot and humid summer worsened by wildfires, it is a relief to have fresh air.
Thank you for sharing and warm greetings from a retired lady in Montreal, Canada ❤️ 🇨🇦

    1. Thanks for commenting! Every voice matters. We just had a bit of rain and some very heavy winds as a front moved through. By tomorrow morning we will be much cooler. And the Dems really are rocking the boat!
