Well, we got a warm day in store for us here n Central PA. Our high this afternoon is predicted to cross that 80 (F) border. Over the next few days, temps are expected to climb into the 90s (F). That will mean good business on window A/C units. I have a small one I put in my workout room since there is no working vent in that room (old, old house), so it may be installed tomorrow.
Yesterday was sort of a meh day. I did chores, but only the essential ones, like loading the dishwasher. Of course, there are those who might not classify that as an essential chore, letting the dishes pile up in the sink. I had a friend named Jack who did that, waiting until all of his dishes were dirty before cleaning them. That was until one evening, while several of us were gathered around the kitchen table chatting, a mouse ran out from the pile of dishes and dashed across his kitchen counter. I do believe he was a bit mortified.
Otherwise yesterday was quiet. I did do 2 of my Norwegian lessons last evening. I should put more time into it.
Oh, and Howie got a brand new toy yesterday. It's a 2 foot long fuzzy ferret with squeakers at both ends. He loves it so much he took it to bed last night.

Your last paragraph sums it up!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat picture of Howie is enough to make one melt. Look at that wet nose and eyes!
Enjoying the weather here. I hit the garden center again and doing more plantings today and reading my birdbaths for fillings finally, maybe followed by a nice gin later. Maybe? What was I thinking...WILL!
That 's easy for you to say about Howie, he just chewed out one of the plastic squeakers in his new toy and is running around the house with it.
DeleteCouchfucker already tried to play the misquoted card on Cankles' latest blunder but when it's caught on tape it's hard to deny.
ReplyDeleteThey've all tried singing that song and it's failed for all of them.
DeleteWe got up to 62 degrees today but the temperature has started to drop again. I finally turned off the heat in the house yesterday. My CO2 detector went off in the middle of the night and I was sure it was just the end of the monitor but I couldn’t see how to disable the thing, so I called the fire department, told them it is not an emergency and could they disable it. They told me to get out of the house anyway and that they were on the way. The big fire engine, lights blazing showed up a couple of minutes later and 4 or 5 firefighters tramped into my house at 4 AM. They checked the whole house and got 0 readings for CO2 and told me it was a dead monitor. The female firefighter took out a screwdriver and disabled the offender. I went to the big orange retailer at 7 when they opened and bought 2 combo monitors. I attempted to install them but because the backing is different, I couldn’t see well enough to finish the job and was going to wait till today for my grandson to come and do it. Well at about 10 a little fire truck showed up to see if I had complied with their suggestions. I told the female firefighter that I was waiting for my grandson to do it on the weekend and she said did I have a screwdriver and she proceeded to install the new ones and move around an older smoke alarm and CO2 to the basement as we now have to have them on all levels of the house. She told me they don’t want anyone to go even one day not being in compliance. I was really impressed with the service I received. I wonder if you would get that service in America or would they charge you. The orange buffoon has taken away so much down there. Keep fighting to get him gone. Gigi
ReplyDeleteI am very impressed by your firefighters!! I am truly blown away. Talk about selling Canada by the pound! I may end up moving there. Though to Quebec because I do know more than a little French.
