There is that sinking feeling

 Holy Crap!  I overslept!  By 15 minutes.  Now I've got to add a little pep to my morning routine.  I really do hate being pressed for time.

Yesterday was... well, your standard sort of day in the store.  I made some phone calls, dealt with some customers.  Two of the associates in my department are rabid supporters of the Idiot Jerk in the White House.  One of them reminded me yesterday that he had been behind in 2016.  Rather then point out the obvious, that 4 years had passed, that Hillary Clinton had been unpopular, that many voters felt certain she had the election in the bag, that there were so many radical difference between this year's election and that unfortunate stunner, I stayed silent.  I did say that the lying sack of shit in the White House was going to lose, of course, he didn't believe that.

There is this thread of commonality running through his base:  a lot of them are non-college educated white people, who not only believe Covid to be a hoax, but sincerely believe that on his inauguration day he will outlaw the wearing of masks.  That's right.  They will tell you that.  Masks are going to disappear.  And every negative thing you hear about the Idiot Jerk?  Well, in their minds that truly is fake news.  They really don't care about Democracy at all, just the fact that they're in charge and can tell you how you need to live your life.  Understanding there is no stopping the changes happening is completely beyond their comprehension.

One of the many new sources I read is Reuters, they give a European spin to what's happening in this country.  It's nice to know how we are being seen by the rest of the world.  Some of their journalists have been working the Falwell Jr scandal, digging up all sorts of shit. Jerry Jr, in his own snitty little way, warned them to stay away from his sons.   Evangelicals are... finding themselves caught in the cross-hairs here.  You see, it was Jerry Jr's super duper support endorsement of the Idiot Jerk which helped bring their votes to the Idiot Jerk.  Now, Jerry Jr's tainted, in a really bad way, especially since the Pool Boy joy was already beginning to cause problems in 2016.  That voting block is no longer a guaranteed whole.  They've fractured.

Anyway, now for a bit of foreshadowing.  There was boat parade yesterday for the Idiot Jerk yesterday down in Texas.  There were a lot of boats and some of them started sinking.  Some of them crashed into rocks.  Forbes has an interesting take on this.  Now, isn't that a nice comparison to sinking boats and sinking poll numbers.  Here's a visual.

My predictions

Everybody is making predictions for the new year, some are good, some are bad and many refer to people are currently, or have recently, been making headlines.  Here's what I think:

That fart infused gas bag ego known as Donald Trump is going to sustain a serious puncture once the primaries begin.  There just aren't enough racist, bigot Republican voters to carry his political career any further.  Be prepared for the stink because it is going to be bad, all of that shit he's been storing in his colon is going to explode.

Kim Davis will leaver her state job and hit the road, you see her pimp, Mat Staver, has by this time convinced her she can make more money her preaching to foolish Christians than she can issuing nameless marriage licenses.  But, then isn't that what pimps do?  And she's happy as a pig in shit because all she cares about is living forever with Jesus, of course she doesn't really know she's going to be living with him, but her pimp tells her this is true and that's all she cares about.

Caitlyn Jenner's reality show is going to be canned... because, sadly enough, no one no longer cares.

Star Wars, The Force Awakens is going to be the biggest money maker of all time.

And, finally, the Oscar for Best Picture is going to go to......  ha,ha ha, I'm not that foolish.

Keeping religion out of politics

A funny thing happened yesterday, Mike Huckabee announced his candidacy for President.  Why, you might ask is this funny?  Because he had stated way back when he said he was waiting for God's approval.  Now I know you're thinking to yourself, gee, that's not funny.  But it is, you see, because John Kasich, Governor of Ohio, is also waiting for God's approval.  Huckabee's announcement should be considered he's gotten the 'thumbs up' from Him.

So what does that do to John Kasich's impending announcement?  Put it on hold?  Or maybe he's going to say that Huckabee has already given him, His answer.  Why would the Supreme Deity tell both of them they should run?  He should only need one in the White House.

Of course the possibility exists they'll be running mates.  We could have President Huckabee and Vice President Kasich, would that be nice?  And if both do run, and both get their behinds wiped by someone like Jeb Bush, what does that say about their Deity?  Telling two men to run and both turning out to be losers?

Which is why our Founding Fathers tried to keep religion out of politics.  Someone's version of Christianity is going to end up taking it on the chin.  But then that may be the only way some people can get votes, which, if you ask me, is a very sorry way to get them.
