Bluntness

I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

Submarined

And the weekend has begun.  For me, that's a working weekend.

Yesterday, I set up the hours I'm available to work.  There are only 2 days in which I cannot be scheduled.  Being a part-timer means I will never have to work on Tuesday and Friday.  For the rest of the days of the week I'm open between 8 am to 8 pm.  Remember, I can only work around 25 hours a week.  Since there are 2 other full time Flooring specialists, I will probably be covering their days off, so I'm figuring I'll be working 3 days a week to cover their days off.

Today is the last day they are forecasting to be in the 80's (F).  The autumn equinox is upon us.  Last year we had fairly warm fall season. Not much rain.  That's fine.  We really don't need anymore rain, though they're calling for showers today.

And what about the brouhaha between France and America.  They had a deal with Australia who it seems pretty much reneged on it.  Submarines.  68 Billion dollars worth of subs.  That's a lot.  I'd be pissed off as hell, too.  But if I read correctly, the deal is actually between the US, Australia, and the UK. And I don't hear them shrieking at Boris Johnson's government.  So, now we're selling Australia the subs (ours are nuclear), but it's not like Americans in general are going to make any money.  Really, I think they should blame China.

Oh, I almost forgot, today's the day they gather in Washington to celebrate their failed coup.  Losers all around.  The fact that so many Republicans have jumped aboard the Big Lie train tells you quite a bit about them and none of it is good.  They began selling off their souls a long time ago.  They really have no concern for human life.  They deny climate change.  They focus on greed.  They cite religion and then side step it constantly.  They have no problem walking over the downtrodden.  They idealized their own image and turned it into a deity.  They are a dead end and nothing more.  And the culmination of all of these traits is to die off because they turned the idea of being safe into a political position from which there is no escape.

Rockets

So, yesterday was International Women's Day.  I was surprised because I was expecting to see this as a day of protest and it wasn't, rather I saw a celebration of women and their accomplishments on their difficult path to equality.  More power to them since they still have a difficult journey ahead of them, especially with the pussy grabber in the White House.
I went to visit my Mom yesterday and one of the first things she told me was that she was going to need a new television, her just wasn't working right.  She has a Samsung (not a smart one) and it's 2 years old, if it's even that.  Picking up the remote, I turned it on and got nothing... tried changing a channel and got a brief picture, but then it disappeared.  Batteries, I thought.  Opening up the back I looked at the batteries.  They were Rockets.  Really.  I kid you not.  Evidently they're manufactured in Australia, and are probably the same batteries that came with the remote.  My brother and sister are taking her to K-Mart today (she loves K-Mart), so I sent him a text telling him they needed to pick up new batteries.  Setting the remote down, I moved the conversation on to her mail, checking to see if she'd gotten any (she gets a lot of 'beg' letters from obscure charities which she tells me to pay, and which I always throw away).  Suddenly, a message appeared on her television: "You are not set up to record this channel."  I suspect she must have pressed the "record" button by accident, and when the channel didn't change pressed another, and another, and another, until the television was lost in confusion.  It worked perfectly from then on.

The new Weis store opens today.  I might stop off tomorrow morning, very early since it's going to be crazy busy.  I have a coupon for $5 off a $25 purchase, which is more than the cost of a big bag of dog food.  I've already applied for my Bonus Card on line, I can use my phone number until it arrives.  Can't wait.

Depp - who cares

I saw the Depps are in the news again.  You know who I'm talking about, Johnny and Amber... and, who cares?  Evidently they're getting a divorce.  She got a restraining order against him because he shoved her and threw his Iphone at her... who cares?  Now, that's a terrible thing to say, and I'm sure there are people out there who actually do... care, but not me.  I've never really been impressed with his acting.  In fact, his best performances are when he's hidden under globs of make-up... except for that turd,The Lone Ranger.  I never went to see it and had no desire to watch it.  That movie died at the box office because... evidently nobody wanted to see Johnny Depp under globs of make-up.  He blamed the critics on that hot mess, and failed to comprehend nobody wanted to see him upstage the Lone Ranger in a film called The Lone Ranger.
The Depps made headlines a while back because their combined egos refused to let them follow Australian law.  Yepper, they thought they were special enough to simply smuggle their little Yorkies into the country.  Of course, the Australian authorities were not amused.  They realized the Depps were really nothing more than dumb-shit, egocentric assholes and treated them like the idiots they are, and... who cares?  One can only wonder if their divorce might not somehow be sourced to the Yorkie experience, with one Depp blaming the other Depp.
Anyway, as I was thinking about writing on this topic, I dropped Johnny's name on the Internet and saw he's contracted to play The Invisible Man.

Not invisible enough
Unfortunately, when he isn't being invisible, he's going to swaddled under globs of make-up and bandages... who cares?  I don't.  I'd like to see a remake of The Invisible Man, but not with Johnny Depp.  Sadly, for him, his best talent seems to be in choosing the best make-up artist.
