Bluntness

I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

Only 6 States

While some of you go back to work today, my weekend has just started.  Retail, you know?
I dealt with no radical customers yesterday.  That doesn't mean my day was hunky dory, twelve minutes before I was scheduled to leave I got called to work with a mother and daughter purchasing new blinds... for a house.  Seventeen altogether.  People don't understand windows are not uniform in size.  I had to 13 blinds.  They were both very pleasant, not at all demanding, but instead of leaving work at 4:30 PM I left at 5:30 PM.  Being a creature of habit, that eliminated the possibility of a bike ride last evening.
Rain was in the forecast for today... we got it last evening so I should have nice sunny weather.  The lawn doesn't need to be mowed because with no rain it is now a nice tawny brown color.  This is summer.
The released some new way of calculating the age of your dogs.  Using this formula, Lily is about 62.  In a year or so she'll be older than me and I'll have to start calling her an old lady.  Biggie is about 58.  There are times when he acts like he's 80.
I saw where Florida hit a record on Saturday.  This was to be expected.  And as also was to be expected, the administration is trying to discredit Fauci.  This is a standard practice for conservatives.  They hate science since it asks questions they don't want asked, and gives them the wrong answers to the questions they do ask.  They are the party of the Idiot Jerk in the White House whose only goal is to dictate and control.
There is an interesting opinion piece in The Hill this morning by Judd Gregg, a former Republican governor of New Hampshire.  He is terribly concerned the Republicans are going to lose the Senate.  He references Barry Goldwater, who lost to Lyndon Johnson by a landslide.  Gregg is thinking the GOP may lose 6 - 8 Senators because of their alignment with the Idiot Jerk in the White House.  His words are meant to grab them by their shoulders and shake the shit out of them.  Will they listen?  Hell no.  On their own they are a spineless mob, standing is difficult enough for them, walking away from the Idiot Jerk is impossible.  He is their crutch.  For those who are too young to know, Barry Goldwater only carried 6 states in the General Election.  If this turns out to be a replay of 1964, which 6 states do you think will swear loyalty to the Idiot Jerk in the White House?

Surprise

Well, Fay turned out to be nothing more than a sorry assed tease... spritzles, nothing more.  This means this evening I'm going to have to pull out my hose and water my dahlias, and zinnias, and these purple and white fluffy things... not to mention my veggies.  Nature is not being very cooperative.  Though, to be honest, we are almost in the middle of July and that does tend to be our driest month of the year.
I have 29 miles to go before I hit the goal on my Trek Challenge of 100 miles.  The next level is at 500 miles.  It would be nice to hit that, but working full time puts a crimp in that objective.  Riding half of that is fine with me.
Still no sign of the errant angel.  Someone at work suggested he might have pulled a Nemo... I've never seen that movie so I have no idea what he was talking about.
The Idiot Jerk in the White House cancelled postponed a rally set for today in an aircraft hanger in New Hampshire.  GOP officials have been leaking the reason was the prospect of low attendance bad weather from that sorry assed tease Fay.  He likes his crowds large and loud and a lack of enthusiasm weather related low turnout might make New Hampshire look a lot like Tulsa.
Oh, and he commuted Roger Stone's sentence.  Like that wasn't to be expected.  Criminals of a feather roost together.
I guess at one point Biden was saying the GOP was going to reach an epiphany when the Idiot Jerk gets his ass drummed out of the White House.  That's changed.  I believe he's realized nothing is going to change the hatred in their dark, little conservative hearts.  This is why we need to vote them in to extinction.
I ran out front this morning and snapped a picture of one of my dahlias.  It's pink.  There are some who try to coordinate their colors.  Not me.  I just plant them.

That way every year is a surprise.

It's Saturday here in Central Pennsylvania and we're in for a bit of a stinker as far as weather is concerned.  Spritzling rains with the likelihood of a thunderstorm or two are in the forecast.
Yesterday was busy at the store.  More and more customers are foregoing mask.  So far all of them have been white.  Remember, except for Harrisburg, this is a conservative area because so much is rural.  We have lots of teeny weeny towns that that blood red Republican.  Good ol' northern boys that are dumber than a box of rocks.
Today is going to be busy, too, in spite of the heat.  What a shame this is going to be one of the lasts of my short days.  After today, there will 2 remaining before I kick back into my full time schedule.  A lot of people at work think I've gone the part-time route, so I have to correct them.
Yesterday's job's report was good, unemployment dropped.  That didn't surprise me in the least.  My store has hired in more than 30 associates over our normal summer hiring.  A lot of new people are working curbside delivery.  That being said, many of those jobs will be disappearing.  When they go, some of those new hires will be given the opportunity to work as 'lot' associates, ie loaders and lot attendants.  Many essential businesses did the same thing.  Those jobs will disappear as well.  Of course, the Idiot Jerk in the White House rang his ding dong bell claiming the economy was back on track.  Not so fast, Bunker Boy.  Unemployment for minorities continued to rise, of course those people are not important to him.  He's only worried about his White Supremacist Base.  Oh, and the Cracker Jack Christians.
Here's a little something from the Lincoln Project.

As of yesterday, also, Joe Biden is the Democratic Nominee.  He has enough delegates.  Now the work begins.  The worshiping base of the Idiot Jerk is not going to suddenly change their collective mind and vote for a Democrat.  Nope.  Our job now is to demoralize them to a point where they stay home from the polls this November.  They will not vote for Biden.  What we need to insure is that they don't vote for the Idiot Jerk.  Here's the link for the above ad.  Share it.  Post it in Facebook.  Copy it into Twitter.   If you follow the Idiot Jerk on Twitter, copy it into his feed.  This is how we grow the Blue Wave.

Ring the bells

Showers were forecast for yesterday afternoon... well, the showers arrived early and by the time the afternoon rolled around we were having some serious rain.  More is forecast for this weekend.  My lawn is looking bright and green so I might end up having to pull out my lawn mower for a mid-fall mow.
There's no dog walk this morning because everything is still wet.
I got my free Flu shot yesterday from the VA.  The Out Patient Clinic was very crowded.  I parked in the lot across the street.  Oh, and I was the only one to show up wearing shorts.  Everyone else was in jeans or slacks... some were even wearing jackets.
So, the 2nd snaky part of "The Body in the Well," is finished, at least the rough draft, and I'm heading into the finale.  And, of course, I'm already thinking about the next one.  It's probably going to be set in Beverly, Mass, near Dorchester Bay.  I have a great opening sentence:

I am an unknown, unimportant individual hanging onto the fringeworks of your life.

Nifty, huh?  Of course, that is just the first tintinnabulation of some serious bell ringing to come.
And, speaking of ringing  bells, I bought a couple strings of small ones recently to drape across a mirror I have hanging in the hall.  Here's what they look like?

Oh, and yes, my upstairs hallway is painted a snappy, bright, wake me up yellow!  It's do for a refresh.  Knowing my penchant for color, it might turn into some sort of exploding orgasmic green.
Oh, and speaking of bells, the Idiot Jerk in the White House appears to be having his rung daily.  Yesterday there was more damning testimony by Bill Taylor, a man who takes detailed notes.  I looked over the transcripts that were released.  I chuckled a bit when Taylor said he was told by Sondland not to worry, "this is business as usual."  Ding Dong!
And the Idiot Jerk compared the impeachment inquiries to a lynching.... oooohhh, yes he did.  That gets a big DING DONG (in caps, of course).
Evidently his inner circle is advising him he needs to bring on board an "impeachment adviser" and he's refusing because he believes it will make him look guilty.  Ding dong, Ding dong. (That's a double just for the fun of it).
There was a surge of Independent voters now approving the impeachment investigation.  DING DONG!  So far they've been sitting on the sidelines.  Now that they're realizing this shit is deeper than they thought, they're nodding their heads and saying "go for it."
Oh, and evidently there's been a large influx of cash into the Democratic races throughout the country.  So much so, seats once considered locked and loaded and ready for red are now considered competitive.  Ding dong, ding dong, ding dong.  If the Reds thought the Blue wave in the last election was bad, they need to begin preparations now,  In 2020 they're going to be enemized!

Crazy is....

Well, here it is Wednesday, my 2nd day in a 5 day stretch.  Tomorrow is my hump day, it's also Inventory day for our store.  Tomorrow there will be food for all, so I won't have to take my lunch - unfortunately it's not the 'good' food, but rather the high sugar, high sodium, high fat foods which are better at filling you up rather than providing nutrition.  Still... they're free, so I will force myself to indulge and eat a donut or two... sometimes they bring tacos in... Yippee.
I saw where that the Customs and Border Protection Agency released a stat: over 76,000 illegal immigrants tried to to cross the border in February...   Now that sounds terrible until you read the article.  On the face, it seems as though they were all trying to sneak in, however, that number includes those who presented themselves at the border without the correct documentation.  This is the sort of tactic the Idiot Jerk in the White House uses to inflate his assets... except at tax time.
And, what about that kid testifying in Congress that his mom got her anti-vaxing info from Facebook?  Being able to have a baby doesn't make you intelligence, there are a lot of breeders in the world.  The only thing capable of challenging these crazier than hell beliefs is an outbreak of measles and there children start dying.  You see, thanks to vaccinations we haven't had serious outbreak in decades and as such, these morons don't know measles kills.  They will only learn from experience.
They're a lot like Republicans, aren't they?  Stupid to the bitter end.  Is it any wonder that viewpoints by the Liberals on the Left are now moving closer and closer to acceptably Centrist positions.  Don't believe me? Look what Brookings has discovered.  Since the midterms, the country has continued its leftward movement.  Conservatives, especially those loyal to the Idiot Jerk in the White House, are becoming more and more extreme.  Success for them is not an option.

Finally, more and more states are enacting laws which eliminate the Electoral College.  Since that seems to be the only way Conservatives can get a Moral Degenerate in the White House they will fight like hell to keep that from happening.  This is what happens when a party begins to die.

Blue Judgment

Last evening... the sun came out, bright and brilliant, turning the fluttering leaves on the river birch by my house into shiny, little pieces of glass catching the rays and dancing them across the siding.  Only for 20 minutes or so, but  long enough to brighten things up.  By 9:30 PM the drizzle had returned.  Tuesday and Wednesday are supposed to be very wet - that's when tropical rainstorm Flo arrives to piss all over the state.
Cynthia Nixon lost her bid big time.  I'm not surprised.  Like many, many, many people out there, I have never watched "Sex and the City," and it seems she based her name recognition on that show.  I couldn't tell you if her platform was based in either socialism or liberalism.  Too much of her campaign seemed to be based on "I am a woman running against the male establishment."  The upset wins by women so far have focused more upon what they want to do.  They understood the wisdom of reaching across gender lines.  They also have had some political experience, membership on school boards, township boards; not one chose to run for a governorship and then jumped onto the campaign trail cold.  Some experience is necessary.
Speaking of experience, you would think that by now the Idiot Jerk in the White House might have learned that when he lies... people are, not too subtly call him a lying sack of shit.  Like with Puerto Rico...  Of course, he's stupid, which is another way of saying he's never going to learn.
Oh, and for those who didn't know, Primary Season is now over.  Statistics are flowing in.  Analysts are combing over 7 months of data.  Trends are being examined, opinion polls ruthlessly dissected, and computers are crunching wins and losses.  Predictions are being made.  Evidence appears to be mounting for a Blue Wave, and I'm not talking about a little wavelet here.  Races the GOP thought were safe are now in jeopardy.  Seats will be flipping from red to blue... lots and lots  and lots of seats.  As I look at what people are saying, I'm beginning to wonder if Blue Wave might not be the correct name for what appears to be happening.  Perhaps Blue Judgment might be better.

Besides, that would really piss off the White Evangelicals, wouldn't it?  The idea Judgment might be made against them?  Oh, my gosh, that almost makes me giddy with laughter.

On Anniversaries

Yesterday the temp here in Central PA hit 94 (F).  I'd call that warm.  We have 2 more days (not quite a heatwave) until the temp drops back into the 80's.  Gordon will be raining his way up through the center of the country for a while.  At some point he's going to slowly fritter his way east - which means we'll be getting more rain.
Today is my anniversary with that large, orange, home improvement retailer I work for - ten years.  Very, very important, you know?  Three more weeks of vacation load today.  That's nice.  Many view anniversaries as milestones in their lives.  For me, they are more of a gauge.  You see, the longest I have ever worked for one specific company has been eleven years.  I will enjoy using that vacation, but at the same time it's impossible for me to deny the itch.  I'm a strong believer in change.  So many people are terrified of change.  They want to stack anniversary on anniversary on anniversary.  The longer they go without change, the safer they feel.  Believe me, no one is safe.  Regularity brings them comfort.  Don't get yourselves to comfortable.  Look at the load of shit we have in the White House.  The time has come for a big change.
I'll be honest, I do like the income.  I would go part-time (32 hours) in a heartbeat if I could be guaranteed 32 hours.  With the retailer I work for, there are 3 months where that is not certain.  The only thing which would help me is my ability to work in multiple departments, but that would mean opening up my schedule.  Meh.  I want my cake, and I want to eat it, too.
While I'm sitting here thinking about that, Gordon is preparing to dump inches of rain on states that voted for the Idiot Jerk in the White House.  And the Idiot Jerk is lying to himself.  He's telling himself he's one safe fuck.  Well, he isn't.  Odds are growing daily he may not celebrate a 2nd anniversary in the White House.  Not that he'll spend time in jail.  Nah, he's a coward with a Twitter account.  He'll shriek "bone spurs" and run off to Moscow for treatment.
And all of those Executive Order?  The ones he think demonstrate he has unlimited power?  The ones that make the evil hearts of his base sing with joy?  Well, there anniversary days are numbered.  The same thing goes for helmet head Betsy.
There will be 'wet clean-ups' in every aisle of this store, as we begin to take back control.  A year from now another anniversary is set to begin.  That minority group which is the GOP will be schooled, and already they are terrified.  Lessons can be very painful, and they've not been very apt at learning.

Bank on This

Okay, so I had this weird dream last night that I went to buy groceries and on checking out, the cashier told me I only had 4 cents left in my bank account.  Not true, but still one of the first things I did this morning was go online and check my balance.  I guess we all have that fear every now and then:  running out of funds and being humiliated.  I see it at work sometimes when a customer will attempt to pay for their carpet with their debit card and their bank says "no, no, no, no."  That's when they need to use their debit card as a credit card.  Banks - funny things, aren't they?  The vast majority of us use them.  We bank on their stability, their security, and their reliability.
The Idiot Jerk in the White House banked on Michael Cohen.  He banked on someone he thought he had purchased.  He banked on loyalty valued in dollar and cents alone.  Someone should have told the Idiot Jerk a long time ago that loyalty is earned, and usually over time.  You don't get loyalty by paying a monthly stipend.  All that does is get you a fixer.  Fixers?  They are only reliable as long as they feel safe, protected.  At some point began to realize that not only his well-being, but the well-being of his family as well, was in jeopardy.  He came to understand that in the eyes of the Idiot Jerk, he was nothing more than a salted peanut, a snack to be eaten and then shit away.  His prosecutors banked on this.  They were smart.
The Idiot Jerk in the White House is not... smart.  He has never been anything more than a blowhard, a bully with cash loaned from questionable sources.  He has banked his life on purchased loyalty.  He has no values.  Evangelical Christians have banked their greed of power on the Idiot Jerk.  They didn't vote for him because of his decency.  He bought their votes, and their souls, with the promise of power.  Since he gives them what they want, they delude themselves into believing he's a gift.  Actually, he's just giving them what they paid for, nothing more, nothing less.  This is the art of the deal.  They have banked on each other.

What can we bank on?  A lot more shit floating to the surface.  All those rats in the Idiot Jerk's administration are already thinking "every man for himself."
We can bank on a lot of delusional red voters staying home during the mid-terms.  They're just going to sit this one out.  They are going to wait for the Idiot Jerk to take back control and fix things...   ðŸ¤£ðŸ˜‚🤣  Stop laughing.
We can bank on a Blue Wave... nay, maybe a tsunami.
These are things you can bank on.
