Bluntness

I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

Puppy Training

It's a chilly 55 (F) outside and we have a steady drizzle.  Rain is expected today.  If the forecasters are correct we should be accumulating about 3/4 of an inch.  Looking at the Accuweather map, I can see that most of the heavier precipitation is to our north, still being overcast and cloudy with steady drizzle does not help when there is yardwork to be done.

Yesterday was busy.  Much of the morning was eaten up at the Firestone dealership where I sat for an hour and a half while they put new tires on my car.  I believe I got a deal on the tires, however, the two agents I dealt with a had used-car dealer approach to growing their sales.  The first had to do with my wheel alignment; it's off slightly.  Should I choose, I could pay an additional $520 to have that fixed.  He then added, "if you don't it might void your warranty."  Idiot.  The second tried to get me to sign up for a Firestone Visa card and unwanted pressure was applied.  There are two rebates available, he said, but I "lost one because I didn't sign up for the card."  The orange retailer does the same thing, if you sign up for a credit card you can get a coupon for up to $100 off your next purchase.  Idiots, both.

The new printer is set up and ready to go, so let the printing begin!

And this showed up in my Facebook account this morning.  A memory.  It's been 14 years since I stood at the base of the Eiffel Tower and took this picture.  It was a cool, breezy day in November since I was there to celebrate my birthday.

You know, I honestly wish we could go at least a day without there being a shit show in Washington.  Did everybody see that clip where Orangie finished talking to the press and turn to walk into a wall?  Here it is in case you missed it.

More people need to be talking about this and spreading the word.  When you're on Social Media and one of the Main Stream Media outlets posts a lie, give them a negative comment.  Learn how to use the algorithms to work against them, not for them.  Remember almost everything the MSM posts has a pro-Orangie bias.  They want access to him, to his shit-show. so never click on an article they might post. Go somewhere else, like Meidas Touch, these 3 brothers are great.  This is so much like puppy training.  You don't want your puppy to shit in your house, so you train him to take his shit outside.

Finally, is anyone out there truly surprised that Kristi Noem does not know what Habeas Corpus is?  Supposedly, she shed a tear because of her humiliation.  Nah, don't believe that for an instant.  That was her hidden rage that a sitting Congressman would humiliate her so bad in public.  I'm betting her maturity level is right down there with Nancy Mace's, who yesterday showed some sort of silhouette of her supposedly naked body in an attempt to humiliate her ex-boyfriend.   Dear Lord, what is wrong with these people?

Hope!

As usual, we had rain last night, a lot of rain.  There were thunderstorm warnings and flash flood warnings, most of which happened while I was sleeping.  I do vaguely remember hearing thunder, but then I usually sleep like a log... or a rock... or whatever.

Yesterday at work I got 2 measures.  Corporate should be happy.  One was for roller blinds.  It was a young woman.  I honestly don't think she has any idea what she's doing;.  When I told her she needed to return to the store after the measurement, she seem surprised.  I believe she thinks they measure tech will take care of everything.  Her English was adequate.

And today, being Friday, I am off work.  Things do need to be done around the house.  Plus there's weight training and and ride.  I am concerned about maintaining muscle mass as I grow older.  The idea of looking like a baby when I'm 95 years old does not appeal to me in the least.

It seems as though there might be hope for Bobby Tussel's drinking habits after all.  It appears as though the unionized employees of Anchor beer might be buying the brewery.

That nectarine tree I cut down?  Well, unlike the peach tree, it's not doing to well.  It does have a little moss starting to grow on the side.

Of course, whiny Jimmy Jordan had another weaponization committee meeting, this time with Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.  The bimbo who won Liz Cheney's seat asked him about the 2020 stolen election and he told her he didn't anything at all about that, of course, the cult has a one track mind and that's to sow as much disinformation as possible.  Of course, RFK, Jr was caught by Democrats in a number of lies, like his saying Covid was a bioweapon designed by the Chinese to kill whites and blacks while not harming the Chinese and the Ashkenazi Jews.  He claims he never said it, however there are videos of him saying it.  Oops.  He's not the only to forget that in today's world everyone has a phone, and so many are using their phones to record what people say.

One of the things I've begun doing is following 3 brothers named Meiselas on their YouTube channel.  They do tend to pick apart the far Right Republicans.  One of the things they talked about was Trump saying that he had millions of followers, actually saying he had 100 million followers, and how the members of his cult actually believed him.  If that were true, his rallies would draw hundreds of thousands; they don't.  Pictures and videos of the cult assembling around their cherished lead may be described in the thousands, but literally there are only 2 and 3 thousand, no more.  He has less hope of getting a crowd that loud, then Bobby Tussel has of getting another hundred cases of Anchor beer.

Think About It

Good morning, World!  Today is the last day of August.  Fall is heading our way and in roughly 22 days it will arrive on our doorstep.  I suspect there are quite a few people in this country who will be ready for the cooler weather.  I know I will be, just so my electric bill gets a break.  Kilowatt charges went up in June because... well, even utilities need to keep their stockholders happy.

Biggie's visit to the Vet was less expensive than I had been anticipating:  $162.  I was expecting the charges to be much higher because besides the exam he was also getting 2 inoculations:  distemper and rabies.  His weight hasn't changed, he's still 114.  Like most humans, he was a bit cringey about getting on the scale; it took 3 of us.  She suggested increasing the frequency and dosage of his gabapentin, besides the 2 he gets in the morning and evening, a 5th capsule in the middle of the day might help him with his stiffness.  They gave him doggie cookies, though, and that made everything hunky dory.

Here's a sticker of Dark Brandon that Meidis Touch is selling.  If you're interested, you can pick it up at their website.

I went to see 3000 Years of Longing last evening.  I liked it.  Idris was good.  Tilda was great!  For those who don't know, it's the story of a djinn trying to convince a scholar who field of study is narratology to make her 3 wishes.  It's a character study of 2 individuals and their road to happiness told with lavish sets and special effects.  I enjoyed the spectacle but found the ending a little too anticlimactic, at least at first, until I realized that for many of us, our own lives are rather anticlimactic.

And, of course, at 1159 PM last evening, the DOJ provided their response to Judge Cannon regarding the Special Master which Trump had requested.  By now, I'm sure many of you have seen the picture they provided.  You do not need a Special Master to decide if something Top Secret.  I found some the added details they provided quite telling, such as 3 of the classified documents were found not in the storage compartment, but rather were discovered in desks.  As someone who has worked in both HR and Accounting, I can tell you that the only things usually kept in desks are reference materials, and projects you are currently working on, everything else gets filed away.  So, were these documents being used as reference materials, or were they part of a large project?  Think about it.  One thing I did see is that the DOJ has a policy of not charging a political candidate within 60 days of an election, though it was pointed out that Trump is not a candidate.  The word is that an indictment should be coming in possibly late November or early December.
