Bluntness

I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

Persevere

So, while my water problem has not been fixed, is has been remedied by what some may consider a strongarmed, turned the water off to the entire house. I did pick up popular water control products before I left the store yesterday, and they failed to work.  Rather than constantly empty buckets of water, I went down into the basement and turned the water access.  It took a while, I have a lot of pipeage, but the leak went from a steady drip, to a slow dribble, and finally stopped.  Now everything will stay dry until I get a plumber here.

My lower bowel turbulence seems to have subsided.  Yesterday, while working, I had developed a craving for tater tots, so on my way home from work, I picked up a bag.  I also picked up a small Italian sub, which became my first solid meal since the onset of the turbulence.  The tots are waiting for today.

And work was not so much boring as it was tedious.  There were a number of customers asked questions, but didn't set up a measure, or buy any product.  We had a woman, wearing a sport coat and black blouse and slacks, and her husband, wearing a red polo shirt, with black slacks and a braided black belt, come in with their contractor.  We were supposed to be impressed by their apparel.  We weren't.  Financially successful people don't dress for success to shop for tile and the great, orange,  home improvement retailer I work for, they just show up.  And they never rely on some guy wearing a T-shirt and jeans to tell them what's stylish.  There is a difference between a designer and a contractor.

And, simply because you might find this interesting.  Here's a pic of me in the T-Shirt I bought when I went to see Paul McCartney.  That was such a good show.

If you don't count today, there's 9 days left until the election (I think that's right).  Since I don't watch cable, I'm not being pummeled with political ads.  I do feel sorry for those of you who do and watch television.  Please... watch something on Neflix instead, or Disney, or Hulu, but only if you've paid not to have commercials.  People tell me they are almost constant.  Having the little patience I do have for advertising, I could not deal with this.  Persevere.  It will all be over soon.

On the Run

Well, this should come as no surprise to anyone.  It's raining.  Again.  Yesterday, which was supposed to be warm and humid, you'll notice I'm saying warm, not hot, since the temps were only supposed to go into the low 90s (F), we got rain.  We had a lot of rain.  Downpours, and they turned into on again, off again showers.  If things dry out enough, I'm mowing my lawn tomorrow.

I'm having Brussel sprouts for breakfast because they're chunky with Vitamin C and because I opened the refrigerator door and thought, 'damn, I'd better eat those before they go bad.'  Keep in mind, your stomach has no idea what time it is.

Business was slow at the store yesterday, though I did manage to get 2 measures.  One is for a tile job.  Tile is an expensive installation.  Tile is considered an asset to the value of your home, though it doesn't nearly increase the value as hardwood.  Most of us know the true value of hard wood.

With all the depressing horse shit going on, I figured I'd post a little video of Sir Paul McCartney, at 79 years of age, performing Band on the Run.  Let me repeat his age for those of you who know nothing about aging, he's 79.  I love this song.  I'm so glad I was able to see him perform this live when he played in Hershey, PA.

I saw that there were protests yesterday, mostly peaceful.  There were some gunshots fired at Pride events in both San Francisco and in New York, I believe, and there's not loud indication that bias was pulling the triggers.  A number of Pride events became anti-abortion quietly controlled anti-abortion protests.  The Cracker Jack Crazies Christians, and their enablers on Fox News had been broadcasting about the approaching violence from liberal extremists.  Instead, there was quietude.  Intelligent conservatives have begun to mutter this lack of an intense outburst portends to something far worse, the worst trouncing they've ever received at the ballot box.

American will never rid itself of conservatives, so they need to be marginalized, constantly on the run.  This begins with local elections.  Electing enough Democrat senators to codify Roe v Wade, same sex marriage, and the right to contraceptives will never be enough as long as Clarence Thomas continues to try and prove that he is the strongest, whitest, conservative on the Supreme Court.  Red states need to be turned blue.  Laws will need to be passed to protect our rights.  This needs to be started now, this November.  Since the court has said this is up to the states, we need to take back control of the states.  We also need to keep a majority in both the House and Senate in order to begin fixing this radically, extremist court that Trump built.  Right now, whether the GOP realizes it or not, they're standing still.  The time has come for us to light a fire under their asses so we can see how fast and how far they run away.

McCartney explodes in Hershey

I went to see Paul McCartney at the Hershey Stadium on Tuesday.  The show was... tremendous; lots of Beatles songs.  He did an original Quarrymen song.  For those who don't know, originally the Beatles called themselves the Quarrymen.  They put out an album, too.  If you own a copy of that original album, well then Baby Your a Rich Man.
Traffic going then wasn't that bad.  Leaving was another story - an hour and a half to go 21 miles....
Anyway. as I said the show was unbelievable.  And I'll be honest, there were moments of almost overwhelming nostalgia, like when, sitting at his grand piano, he quietly said "I wrote this for Linda," and played  "Maybe I'm Amazed."  Then there was the tribute to John Lennon, in it he said "if you want to say something to someone, say it, because you never know when they'll be gone and they'll never know what you want them to know."
It was far louder than I was expecting, which was a good thing.  We can all use a blast of voluminous music every now and then to shake up our bones.  Let me tell you, Paul McCartney is pretty spry for a 71 year old man, and you can still see hints of the pretty boy he once was.  He was always my favorite.
Oh, and they pretty much blew up the stadium with "Live and Let Die."

Yes, there were fireworks.
And fireballs shooting up from the front of the stage.
And explosions.
Oh, and I also bought a T-shirt.

Paul McCartney - tonight

I'm really not sorry to say it, but I'm going to have to miss tonight's episode of Trumpalooza.  I missed last nights' episode as well, but did find it hilarious that Melanoma Trump sort of plagiarized Michelle Obama.  You have to remember, he didn't marry her because she was smart, he married her because she was a model.
Anyway, I'm missing tonight's episode because my brother and I are going to see Paul McCartney at the Hershey Stadium.  We have good seats.  No, we didn't get the VIP seating in order to actually meet Sir Paul in person.  And we didn't get the minor VIP seats where you get let in early so you can watch the sound check.  We just got the regular, very good, expensive seats.  In case you're wondering where they're at, I posted the seating chart below.

I hear he puts on a really good show, plays a lot of Beatles music.  I'm really looking forward to it.  In fact, it's kind of like not real.  My brother, who is 52, says he's probably going to scream like a 12 year old girl and faint.  I hope not.  That would be embarrassing.

On the Street where I live

They're going to be resurfacing it today, so no cars are allowed to park on it.  My neighbors asked when I was going to work so they could use my driveway and were disappointed when I told them I wasn't scheduled until 0930.  I also told them that if, when I'm supposed to leave, the road crew has me blocked in I'll just stay home.  It's supposed to be a beautiful day and I have a shit load of yard work to do.

It will be really nice.  They put in new sewer lines about a year and a half ago and road's been lumpy and jouncy every since.

Tickets go on sale for Paul McCartney today, so if I'm home I may buy a couple.  I'm not really sold on going, though.  It's a stadium show and I don't really like stadium shows.  We'll see.  Most likely I'll be at work.  If that's the case I may check out what's left when I get home this evening.
