Bluntness

I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

Expensive

Well, I woke up to a chilly 34 (F) this morning.  There is supposedly the threat of rain this afternoon, but evidently only the threat.  Our high temp is only supposed reach 50, and that's cool.  Tomorrow temps are supposed to warm up.  I saw that, according to the national weather service, we shouldn't be expecting much snow this winter.  Hopefully, that doesn't mean we're not going to get rain.  Drought conditions create fire hazards.  Of course, who know what we're going to be getting thanks to Climate Change.

Yesterday was boring at work.  I did get a measure, but no sales.  It was a long 5 hours, so I did laps and got my steps in.  One of the things I did take notice to was price increases.  We sell transition strips that go in doorways between different types of flooring, say vinyl plank to carpet.  When I worked on Sunday, they were $32.97, yesterday they cost $39.97, that's a $7 increase.  For all of you foolish people out there, this is not inflation.  This is corporate greed.  It's going to be everywhere and no one is going to do anything to slow it down or stop it.

The new watch is working well. The other new watch is arriving later today.  On Tuesday, I'll be returning it to Amazon and notifying them so they don't give me a credit.  The last thing I want out of their driver's incompetence is a free watch.  I went with charcoal gray rather than black because it was cheaper.

Yesterday, while talking to a fellow associate, I mention that it wasn't just going to be our prices that were going to be rising, but food prices as well, once the Orange Anus begins deporting all those migrant workers who've picked fruit and vegetables for years.  His response?  "Oh, no, no, no, it's only going to be the violent gangs, everybody else is going to be safe."  Rather than argue, I let my disagreement lie on the floor and walked away.  This means that when food prices start going up, I'll be able to walk over and have a "told you so" conversation with him.  These people believe his every lie, and they will only learn after he burns the Hell out of them, and the rest of the country.

And, of course, everybody was talking about the Matt Gaetz and Tulsi Gabbard nominations.  Let us pray that Gaetz never makes it to Attorney General.  I was reading that the main reason Trump chose him is because he has promised to cut off "fucking heads."

Prepare yourselves, life is going to get very expensive.

Self Loathing Republicans

Monday has arrived.  I get to work this afternoon.  Will we be busy?  Difficult to say.  It's only for 6.5 hours, but that means I will need to take a lunch.  I'm taking sausage.  Blame it on my PA Dutch heritage (German), but I do like my sausage.  As a toddler, I used to watch my grandmother (Mom's side of the family), make it.  Fresh.  Today's serving will be cooked in the electric fryer.

Most of the new floor is in.  My legs are, for the most part, fine.  Knee joints weren't any creakier.  I did find going down the stairs a bit stiff.  But then, I'm not 19 any more.  As for the floor itself?  Hhhmm.  I hate to tell you, but it's not as precise as I thought.  You click in the top edge, and then using a tapping block click in the side.  You can barely see a seam on the sides of the tiles.  The top edges, however, are a different matter.  On some tiles, you can barely see a seam, on others?  At least to my eyes there is a significant gap.  Of course, there are ways to fix this.  And, to be perfectly frank, I didn't splurge on the best tiles, but rather spent my money on something that is considered a lesser grade.  I couldn't see spending the extra money when there's going to be a washer and dryer sitting on top of them.

Evidently attendance at Trump's rally in Ohio was rather sparse.  And there was a moment when the audience demonstrated their subversion.

At a rally in Chambersburg, PA, Doug Mastriano had his audience do the same thing.  "Put your right hand in the air," the told the crowd, and they did as he wanted.  The only thing missing was for them to begin chanting 'heil, heil.'  Many pictures have been circulating of both rallies have been circulating.  The one above seems to have been getting the most press.  Amusingly, there are Trumpies out there who are claiming the media doesn't cover Trump's rallies.  They don't see anything wrong with this, which is why he's becoming a detriment.

Speaking of the Moral Degenerate, I understand he arrived back at Mar a Lago... during the night.  I'm betting the first thing he did was check to make sure his secret stash of documents was safe.

Finally, on the immigration issue, personally, I don't think the political stunts of sending refugees to places like Martha's Vineyard is having quite the effect  the Republicans had hoped.  True, they do make headlines, but the only gleeful outrage I'm seeing is from hard core conservatives.  Since the Republican party can no longer say, "shut up, we're in charge," they're giving America their 'screw you' attitude instead.  I am truly disappointed when I see Hispanics running for office celebrating these incidents.  So much self-loathing is amazing.

A price for Everything

Well, Black Friday is officially over.  We were busy, but super busy, not like it used to be.  The giant home improvement retailer I work for now opens at their standard time.  White we do have seemingly miles of aisles of product (junk), our major revenue categories are:  appliances (best time of the year to buy one), hardware (everybody needs a tool), and garden (deck the halls and all that jazz).  This isn't to say customers don't buy the specialty products (junk) we stock our aisles with, they do, but basically they shop for something in one of those 3 specialty categories.
There were times when our store was busy, but never over crowded.  There were no long lines at the registers.  And, as always on holidays, the fed us.  This year we had immigrant food.  What is immigrant food?  We had tacos - both soft and hard, and nachos... lots of nachos.  We will probably have nachos for days to come.  That's fine.  And it's immigrant food because many Americans embrace these foods from south of the border.  Sadly, for America, there are some people who like the food but not the people.  They are called racists.  We have one in the White House.  He would love a world without Latinos.  Luckily for America, that will never happen.  Brown skin and black skin are here to stay.
Oh, and don't look at your 401k!!!  Last week was not good for those intending to retire in the coming months.
The weather this AM is supposed to be on the shitty side, a little freezing rain is supposed to start just as I leave for work.  This is fine.  It will turn to rain as the temps heat up.  Tomorrow is supposed to be nice, with the temps up in the 50's (F), and I'm off.  Some stuff is planned.  And no, I'm not planning on reading the new Federal Government Climate Report which damns everything the Idiot Jerk in the White House is doing.  You have to remember, the Idiot Jerk is all about Greed.   The idea that there will be a price to pay for everything doesn't even occur to him, and, if for some chance it should, he will spit out "that bill will be long due after I'm dead." What an asswipe.

The Selfish Nature of the Social Conservative

So, I saw this article this morning and thought I'd talk about it a little.  America, we have a problem.  You see we have something called the First Amendment and there are a number of people out there who don't like it.  They believe we should have a National Religion, which would happen to be theirs.  They call themselves Social Conservatives and they represent the ugly head of selfishness.  You see for them, their most favorite pronouns are "I," followed by "my."  For them "you" can be a really negative word because "you" is about someone else.  These Social Conservatives have allowed their beliefs to evolve to a stage where "you" is not even secondary.  Since they don't believe in evolution they would never understand this, but evolve they have.  And they like the Constitution, but only as long as it lets them be as selfish as possible.  They don't like it when "you" means everybody.
These Social Conservatives want to change rules and create regulations that benefit themselves, alone.  They want to be able to say that "my beliefs say I can fire you from your job because my beliefs are more important than you as a human being."  The truth is they don't care about human beings at all, unless those human beings share the same beliefs.  These Social Conservatives want to be able to discriminate, not only against sexual orientation, but against race and nationality.  They don't want to give immigrants the chance to possibly dilute, either socially or culturally, the purity of their own beliefs.  You see, it's not just the jobs they claim immigrants will take, it's the very blood coursing through their veins which these Social Conservatives need to keep out.
They will never understand how wrong they are, to even consider such an action would be to challenge the very soul of "I."

We fought the Civil War to free the immigrants & other stuff

And, of course, Ben Carson has now revealed the truth about the Civil War, we freed the immigrants in order for them to find wealth and prosperity.  While everybody was being distracted by Carson, the Republicans rolled out their replacement for the Affordable Care Act.  Now we know why he's in DT's cabinet: he's there to serve as Dr. Distracto, super dumb ass.  Nah, that's not why he's in the cabinet.  He's there because DT wanted a non-threatening, Crazy Christian Black Guy who would appeal to the Evangelicals., being Dr. Distracto is only his part-time gig.
I am off work today, and it's going to be, for the most part, one of those throw-a-ways.  Some bike time this afternoon, a nap or two with the dogs, and a little Gears of War 4.
First thing this AM I was at the Optometrist's office, the pressure in my eyes is good so the drops are working.  He gave me a 90 day prescription, which can be refilled 3 times, so I'm pretty much good for the year.  The nice thing about the script is that I can hand it over to the VA and pay a lot less. - $24 rather than $60.

I stopped by my local Giant Supermarket on the way home and the parking lot was very, very empty.  The new Weis Market opens tomorrow, and might actually spell the end of the Giant.  Because Weis Markets had already owned the land, the New Giant was built on the wrong side of the road.  In PA we have right turn on red lights, and the new Weis is on the right side.  Given a choice, would you rather sit at the red light to turn left into Giant, or scoot right into Weis?  The old Giant building has been split in half, one has been converted into a Planet Fitness, which I will be joining shortly since I don't own a treadmill.  This is how life is.
