Carried Away

 And here in Central PA the rain continues.  Purportedly, the showers and thunderstorms should end sometime tomorrow an we'll have a few days before they start up again.  Overnight lows are in the mid 50s (F), which is nice sleeping weather.  While the constant rain may be somewhat depressing, on the positive side everything I've planted is growing by leaps and bounds, but then so is my lawn; it will need to dry out before I can mow it.

More chores were done yesterday than I had been anticipating.  Having Monday's off is nice, however that extra day does mess with my mental calendar.  I was just sitting here thinking that it's Wednesday and payday is Friday, only to realize I've just moved into Tuesday.  

And I did get a rowing session in yesterday.  I tried linking the rower to my Garmin account and there was an error.  I'd tried it before and got the same error, so I guess Concept2 and Garmin are having problems communicating.  I may try it again today.  Maybe I'll make the attempt using my tablet, since sometimes it depends upon the device you're using.

Did everyone hear about Republican Mike Lawler's Townhall?  An elderly woman who's unhappy with the Republican party was carried out. 

I find it fascinating that the political party that so desperately wants to yell "shut up! we're in charge!" has totally failed to take into consideration the wants and desires of their constituents, those people who actually voted them into office.  I can't even imagine the mindset these Republican Congressmen and Senators have that permits them to think those people who cast their ballots did so in order to lose the benefits many of them consider sacred.  I know several Republicans who are furious that their Social Security might now be in jeopardy.  These people posted numerous memes on Facebook telling their representatives to stay away from their Social Security.  Now they're upset because those same representatives are ignoring them.  These Republican townhalls would not be erupting in chaos if these voters had simply paid attention.  But no, when the Orange Anus said that he wants to be a dictator for at least a day, they shrugged it off, saying "he doesn't mean it, that's just the way he is."  Now they're discovering to their horror that he really did mean it, and they're being carried away.

 Monday's forecast is continuous cloudy skies and rain.  Yesterday the sun popped out for a little bit in the afternoon, but all that did was warm up the temps and bring on more thunderstorms.  Temps today will be in the mid 70s (F), but the showers and steady rains will be staying with us until tomorrow.  Verdant growth is upon us.

Retail was slow yesterday.  I'm always scheduled to work a full day on Sunday, and foot traffic in the flooring department was slow.  Our garden department was hopping, and once again our millwork department sold a window installation.  If we reached our plan for yesterday, it was because of that window installation.  Flooring also had a few online installations sell, though we also missed plan for a week.

Otherwise, yesterday was pretty much meh.  I talked to a friend on the phone for a while last evening.  I find it irritating how frequently conversations end up revolving around the Orange Anus and all of the terrible things that he's doing to America.

I will admit to having a good laugh this morning while perusing the various media headlines.  This one came from the Washington.  For those who haven't heard my early history, here's a quick summary.  My dad was in the Air Force and I was born in Florida.  He was then transferred to Biloxi, Mississippi which is where I learned to talk... with a drawl.  That accent, though mostly buried now, is still with me today, so when I saw this picture of our Attorney General, I had to laugh as that drawl reared its southern head as I said aloud, "Pamela Jo, why she's from red neck Hell."  And then I wondered if in her head she's staring in Mar a Lago Baywatch. 

You have to be living in a cave to not realize this was a very busy weekend for the Orange Anus.  His face was every where.  He triggered Catholics by posting an AI generated pic of himself as a Pope. Many Catholics who voted for him are now entering the FO stage.  He's going to reopen Alcatraz and make it bigger and better.  There's now a tariff on films produced over seas.  Beautiful little girls only need 2 dolls, and nobody needs 250 pencils... okay, how many of you still use a pencil?

However, the clearest sign to me that this horseshit is going to get worse, was an email we received at work on Friday.  I'm going to copy and paste a section so you, too, can relish in this shit show.

Please note that these goods come form China, which due to the recent tariff changes, will be subject to pricing adjustments. Unfortunately, we do not have a resolution date at this time. Due to the uncertainty surrounding the new tariffs, we are pausing all China-made orders and cannot quote until a more suitable resolution has been obtained.

This means a customer's carpet installation just died because of tariffs.
