Bluntness

I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

Ashley Fails

Our outside temp is 43 (f) and, if the weather forecasters are correct, we'll be adding another 25 degrees onto that for an afternoon of 68 (F).  The original forecast for tomorrow, election day here in the states, was for showers and temps in the low 60s (F).  That's been updated.  Our afternoon highs are now supposed to be in the lower 70s (F) under full sunshine.  Now, isn't that nice for the voters.

Yesterday was a full shift at the great orange retailer I work for, and, as now happens on Sundays, I was a flooring specialist.  I was fairly busy until late afternoon.  Foot traffic slows down once the football games start.  I can honestly say that no other sport has that kind of effect on sales.  Because we're centrally located, we have Raven's fans, Giant's fans, Eagle's fans, and Steeler's fans in the area, all of whom stay home on Sunday afternoon and evening.  We do have the "getting out of church" rush between 11 am and 1 pm, but once the games start, even the religious stay home.

We did have costume day on Saturday so store employees could dress up.  I don't.  Cori, the woman who does my book covers does.  So, in case you've ever wondered what she looks like, here she is.

Of course, there was some political news yesterday.  Ashley Stevens, a Democrat who'd run against Abdul Sayed for the Senate nomination in Michigan, endorsed the MAGA candidate Mike Rogers.  Mallory McMorrow, who'd also been a candidate in that primary said that this was a "blatant attempt at relevancy."  I think Ashely's conversion is the result of sour grapes.  Originally, many thought that she was going to win the nomination... and she lost to Sayed.  I hope she wasn't so delusional as to think that tens of thousands of Democrats would suddenly vote Republican because of her.  For whatever reason, Ashley's career in politics is now over.

And tomorrow is election day here in the States.  The administration is shrieking that all results should be known tomorrow night.  This is never the case anywhere, except in Russia where elections are rigged.  In many states winners will be projected, however certification may not happen until several days after the election.  What will be known is how badly the Republican party has shot themselves in the foot, the back, the chest, and the head by fully supporting the Orange Anus.
