Bluntness

I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

Trump Bends Over

We're under a flood warning.  Overnight we've had between 1 and 2 inches of rain, with possibly another inch on the way.  Today was supposed to be partially cloudy and warmer.  That forecast has been put on hold for the time being.  Right now the outside temp is 62 (F) and a drizzly, misty rain is falling.  Wonderful.

Yesterday was kind of a meh day.  That doesn't mean that I didn't do anything, I did.  I had lunch with my cousin and her husband.  Mexican.  I had a chicken chimichanga.  It was delicious.  We all had fried ice cream for desert.  I've had it before, and this was... not quite as good as I remember.  There was less crunch and not as much cinnamon.  We're planning on hitting a Russian restaurant next, some place called Tatiana's.  I will have to do a search and see what their menu looks like.

For some reason, perhaps boredom, about 2 hours after I was home I ate 2 large pieces of that pizza I made.  That was not a good idea.  Immediately afterwards I felt bloated, and that bloat hung with me for the rest of the evening.  Now my shoulders are a bit achy and there's a crankiness in my stomach.  Crap.  Was it something I ate?  I've had this before.  The crankiness as well as a pain in the upper left side of my chest and down my left arm.  Of course I thought the worst and made an appointment to see my doctor.  It turned out I was developing an ulcer, one that was not caused by the Orange Anus.

So, when I checked my bank account this morning, I discovered the great orange retailer is popping a special $$ into my account tomorrow, a day that isn't a payday.  I'm impressed, how about you?

The shit show was truly on display yesterday, from the Orange Anus kissing up the Saudis, to Kristi Noem being lectured, to Robert Kennedy Jr saying that people should not take advice from him when it comes to vaccines.

Noem was thanked for taking out from her constant costume changes and photo ops to come in to testimony.  She was totally unprepared to be questioned and looked like a petulant 14 year-old who's already had way to much plastic surgery refusing to answer, and when she did, she lied, and her lies were obvious and thrown back in her face.

There were outbursts during Kennedy's hearing, one happened when he was asked why he had stopped funding research for children's cancer.  Of course he denied doing so; I'm sure his brain worm must have cringed at the outburst.  He also denied saying that there were millions of dead fetus parts in the measles' vaccine, and there was another outburst.  His brain worm simply doesn't understand that everything this man says is recorded, and reported, and there is so much proof that he's lying.

And a funny thing about that Qatari jet; it seems as though they've been trying to sell it for 4 years and have had no luck getting a buyer.  Perhaps it's because no one wants to buy a flying, golden whorehouse.  Or maybe no one wanted to spend hundreds of millions of dollars refurbishing it.  So, basically what they did was dump it into Orangie's happy hands.  They know how to play this fool.

The truly funniest thing, however was Pete Buttigieg saying, "I may be gay, but Trumps the one who keeps bending over."

The Ticket

Yesterday was hot, but not as stinkin' hot as it has been.  We did get passing storms, lots of rain for about 5 minutes.  No thunder and lightening.   The temperatures did drop afterwards.  That was nice.  Of course, when I got up this morning around 0515 the low was 73 (F).  This means the day is probably going to be warmer than the forecast.

Work was meh yesterday.  I sold some carpet to a senior woman.  She's putting it in her large bedroom which isn't finished yet.  I said they should probably wait to purchase until the contractor was finished  and that got shot down fast.  She wanted to take advantage of 10% markdown which ended yesterday.  This means the installer is going to have to warehouse her carpet until she's ready for the install.  Of course, for that great, orange home improvement retailer I work for, it's all about making the sale, impositioning the installer should have no bearing on the sale.

Emmy award nominations were announced yesterday.  Shogun got quite a few.  I enjoyed that show, however, all of the acting nominations went to Asians.  While there's nothing wrong with that, I feel bad for Cosmo Jarvis, if it weren't for his British navigator there would be no story.

For those who haven't been paying attention, the RNC is still going on.  Last night JD Vance spoke, tonight will belong to the Moral Degenerate.  The big question will he show up with another tea bag taped to his ear?  That would be par for the course since this entire charade is just another chance for the Republicans to teabag America.

Can we speak about ironies?  Yesterday, while scanning through my phone to waste time at work, I came across an article with the headline "Biden might consider dropping out of race if a medical condition deemed it necessary," or something to that effect.  And then news comes out that he has been diagnosed with a mild case of Covid, a disease that is still a killer.  Then this morning I read that he is apparently more amenable to dropping out of the race... after a chat with Schumer and Jeffries. I feel bad for him.  No one wants to be a one term president, even if he did help the economy and the country begin to heal from the trauma caused by Trump.  In spite of what he wants, I do suspect that he will soon remove his hat from the race.  That would pretty much make Kamala the nominee.  I do believe that a Harris / Buttigieg ticket would be unstoppable.

The good and the bad

Holy Crap!  It's Monday... well, it is for me and I've got to work for 5 days in a row.  Every time I have one of these 4 day mini-vacas I realize how much I hate going back to work full time.  And I will have to deal with this crap for at least a year yet.  Once my car is paid off, who knows what will happen.
The Idiot Jerk in the White House gave his State of the Union speech last evening.  The MAGA heads went wild.  Some Republican lawmakers chanted 4 more years.  In case you didn't know, they are all about a white GOP dictatorship. And the Idiot Jerk, he knows exactly who is base voters are and he played directly to them.
Oh, and about that impeachment....  I don't know if any of you have seen the Idiot Jerk's approval rating, but it has gone up... to 49%  More Independent voters jumped on board his evil train.  Why?  Well guess.  A word to all of the firebrand Democratic freshman of the House, this is what happens let your anger run rampant.  The articles of impeachment were dead on arrival at the Republican held Senate.  I mean, did these firebrand freshmen really believe the Republican held Senate was going to shoot itself in the head?  No matter how powerful Adam Schiff's closing argument was, Independent voters did not see Crimes and Misdemeanors.  They saw a stupid old man doing something he should have been punished for, but they didn't think he should be fired.  The same thing happened at the Clinton impeachment.  The only better about this impeachment was that the Idiot Jerk's approval rating only hit 49%, Clinton's went up to 55%.  For those who don't remember, Bill Clinton was re-elected and the failed impeachment proceedings had a lot to do with that.
On the bright side, and I know many who are smiling broadly about this.... Pete Buttigieg won in Iowa.

This is evidently a hit to Bernie's campaign.  Bernie needs to deal with it.  He has to understand that in the scheme of things, no one really wants to be a Socialist.  Poor Uncle Joe Biden fared very poorly.  This is how life is.  An interesting point, I had breakfast with my brother yesterday and he, who loves his Christian Conservatives, brought up Buttigieg.  He said he thought Pete might have a real chance at winning,  He said he could 'get out the young vote.'  You have to remember, one of the things Buttigieg touts are his Christian beliefs.  That's important, he might be gay, but he isn't a scumbag.  We will have to wait and see how well he does in New Hampshire.

Ammunition

It rained hard last night.  The first thing I did this morning was check in the basement for water.  Very old stone foundation here and with heavy rains I can often look down and see that a river runs through it.  The deepest it's been has been 18 inches.  Today there were just some damp patches so there was no need to pull the pump out.
I only did a little over 4 miles on the bike last night.  I'd chose a new route which started off with a hill.  That will only be a good idea if I do a shorter ride first to loosen up my legs.
And what about that racial flap circling around Biden?  A few of the contenders want to knock him out of his Front-runner status, this, however, is not the right way to do it.  Their desperation to get points in the polls is taking them into divisive territory.  Dividing the Democratic Party just so you can make points is a bad idea.  Bernie did it in 2016 and no matter what people want to tell you, the party never truly came back as a whole and... we ended up with the Idiot Jerk in the White House.  Racially dividing the base is a bad idea, and if they are not careful that is what will happen.  Let me tell you, if you think the last 2.5 years with the Idiot Jerk have been bad, an additional 4 years will the total ruination of this country.
Part of the problem is that we have too many candidates.  Except for Biden, Sanders, Warren and Buttigieg, no one stands out....  Beto's fifteen minutes are over for the time being, he needs to take a step back and do something in Texas, like take out Ted Cruz.  Bill de Blasio?  Nope.  Booker?  Nope.  Let me toss out a few other names that just roll off your tongue when you think of presidential candidates:  Delancey, Gabbard, Inslee, Swalwell, Williamson, and Yang.  And there are more.... but I think I've already made my point.  I had the joy of seeing and hearing Obama speak in Harrisburg a number of years ago.  He spoke of many issues which needed fixing: health, education, women's rights, human rights, the economy.  Many of today's crop of candidates have only one issue they're going to fix... and with some it isn't even a major issue.  We have 2 nights of debates coming up.  Very few will watch both nights.  Personally, I think the Democratic Party set the bar too low.  They should have raised the criteria to reduce the number of candidates.  Because they didn't do this, these candidates will begin to attack each other in order to grow their own base.
By blowing up this issue of Biden working with Segregationists a long time  ago, Booker and Harris have given the opposition sound bites to use against Biden in a National campaign, if he gets the nomination.  Oh, shit.  Do not give the Idiot Jerk ammunition.

A slut for Vlad

It's Saturday and I am definitely not in a park and it is definitely not the 4th of July.  Nope.  It's drizzling outside and going to be like this for the rest of the day.  Tonight... storms.  All the rain that's drenching the central states is moving east.  So far May has been off to a wet start.
I saw where Oprah was talking about Mayor Pete and either tried to be funny... or something worse.  She said she had problems saying Buttigieg and so called him either Buttabeep or Buttaboop.  I wonder what she'd say if people did the same with her name, you know?  I mean, is this her way of being humorously judgmental?
Anyway, sometime this evening I will hit my hump moment.  From then it's a downhill slide until Tuesday.  Unfortunately, that is the only day off I have in what is an 8 day stretch.  Not that we're busy.  Things are always slow in flooring at this time of the year.  It's garden time!  and lawn time!  These are the months when people think about building decks, or putting in patios.  If they have kids, this is not prime carpet month... not with summer around the corner, when little feet will be running in and out, and in and out.
And, of course, the Idiot Jerk in the White House and his bromo / homo love interest Vlad gushed to each other during an hour long phone conversation.  The Idiot Jerk cackled and giggled about 'no collusion.'  What the Idiot Jerk didn't know was that while he was flirting his ass off, Vlad was approving plans for Russian involvement in the 2020 election.  Vlad is more concerned with knocking America out of the number one spot in super powers.  He wants Russia to be the most powerful country in the world.  Of course, the Idiot Jerk will give him what he wants, he doesn't care if the world thinks he's a slut for Vlad.
Oh, dear me, it's almost time to go to work.  I have a decent little carpet sale going through today:  single older couple, no kids.
Since, today is May the 4th I might as well do say what everybody else is saying:

Mayor Pete

Back to my normal time schedule for today and tomorrow.  I'm off Tuesday.  UGI is sending a repairman to replace a part of my gas meter.  Evidently there is mercury in it and they say that has got to go.  Two hours they said it is going to take.  That's 2 hours in which the dogs will be sitting at the top of the basement stairs looking down, watching every move he makes.
We had torrential rain last night, probably part of the storm the mid-west got and for a while we were under a tornado watch.  Today we under a 'high wind' watch.  Boy, talk about exciting weather!
Mayor Pete went all official yesterday to the consternation of the Crazy Christian contingent in this country.  (Holy Shit!  How that for alliteration?)  He is a Christian, but he is also... openly gay.  They desperately want an old, white, anti-gay, racist in the White House.  They will vote themselves from here to Hell and back in order to give their hatred life.  They will lose.
I only look at Facebook once in the morning, usually to see if I can sow a little havoc, and that's usually in the morning.  Take this morning, for instance.  One of the many friends I have, posted a meme yesterday about Jesus leaving the flock of 99 to go in search of the 1 lost lamb.  My comment:  "of course, when He got back there were only 87... poachers, you know?"  I'm sure that will go over well.  That's what makes these people so crazy... they park their logic in a car... and then can't remember where they parked their car.  This is so obvious when you listen to what they talk about 'love' and how they 'love' everybody... all the while doing everything in their power to make lives miserable.
So, I'm thinking of putting a list of characters at the front of the book.  While 3 of the main characters were in the first book, not everybody read "The Body on the Lawn."  There are a lot of new characters in "The Body in the Tower," and while some of them have English names, some of them have French names like Moussierre Centee (also known as Mouse), and Jules Laurent, and Saba Fourchette.  There's also Felix Rios, who writes facial recognition applications like Casper and Fatso.  The problem with a list is... how much information do I provide without including any spoilers.  Hhhmmm.
And one additional note about the pasta I made.  When everything was said and done, and dried, I ended up with 2 large bags.  On Saturday afternoon, Big Seig took one of the bags from the counter.  I found him laying on the futon happily chomping away.  He got a smack on the butt which didn't phase him one bit.  He looked really guilty.  I managed to snub him for about 15 minutes...
