Bluntness

I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

Bingo

Good Morning People!  Our temp is sitting right on the freezing mark.  This is a good thing.  Slowly, but surely, the ice and snow are melting.  This afternoon our temps are predicted to climb into the mid 40s (F).  We have the same forecast for tomorrow and Friday.  This is good.  Spring is a little over 3 weeks away and I can not wait for it to be Sprung.

Yesterday was... interesting.  I had meetings with 2 HVAC people.  The first was with Wilbur Plumbing and Heating.  That went very well.  The rep was in my house for a little over half an hour.  Forty minutes after he left, I received an email with four different quotes.  I was impressed.

Around noon the rep from Topline showed up.  He was an overweight older man with bad knees.  I know about the bad knees because it took him almost a minute to go down my basement steps and he told me his knees were falling apart.  It took him just as long to climb back up them.  Did I tell you he was overweight?  He talked about the size of my furnace and basically told me 3 times how much he knew about furnaces.  After the basement excursion, he went out and sat in his car for 45 minutes and built 2 quotes.  After building the quotes, he wanted to sit down and go over them with me.  With an obvious lack of enthusiasm on my part, he began, not with the a description of the furnace, but  with a rubber cuff that wraps around the hoses coming into the house which keeps mice out... and I'm thinking, that's his selling point?  Anyway, he left shortly after that, and he's supposed to be emailing me those quote.

And for those of you who are interested, you can rent the Shane / Ilya house for only $1000 Canadian a night, however you can't use the fireplace.

Of course, Orangie had his State of the Union speech last evening.  I didn't listen.  He broke a record.  His was the longest State of the Union speech on record.  He also went into it with the lowest approval rating of any president in history.  I didn't watch it, but I know there were those playing State of the Union Bingo.

The Meidas Trouch counter programing had over a million viewers.  I haven't checked to see how many Americans tuned in to listen to the Orange Anus lie, not that it matters.  He will claim it was the highest rated speech in history.  From what I'm seeing, however, no news service is being kind to him except probably Fox and Newsmax.  He desperately tried to play the part of the king by giving out awards to undeserving people, like the Presidential Medal of Freedom to a hockey player.  Many are saying this was basically a rehash of his rally speeches, the only thing missing was his jerk-off dance at the end to YMCA.

Heated Rivalry

We're cold again.  Back down into the mid 20s (F).  Over the next few days temps will be warming up.  Right now we have full on sunshine, however, the prediction is for it to disappear.  Saturday we will be in the high 50s (F) to low 60s (F), but that temp, too, shall pass.  A week from now we will once again be in the mid to upper 3s (F).  Spring can't get here fast enough.

Yesterday was a work day.  I was number 1 in the department for last week in sales.  That won't happen this week, not that I care.  Within the next week or so I should be getting a pay increase.  That's what's important.  That and the fact that if I last another 2 years in the part-time position, I'll be getting 2 and a half weeks of vacation pay to use in whatever way that I want.  I'm happy with that.  And let's face it, the 20 or so odd hours I spend each week at the flooring desk are not going to break my social calendar.  I'm still doing my lunches, and movies, and video gaming.  As you get older, the idea is to stay busy, not sit back and wait for death to come snatch you away.

Two different HVAC companies are coming today to give me estimates on a new heating system.  To impress upon them the fact that I have connections in the home improvement industry, I'm wearing one of the my Home Depot sweatshirts I've been given over the years.

So, I finally watched Heated Rivalry.  Some parts were very good, like the Scott Hunter bits, and other parts were weak.  The show was overwhelmingly popular with women, mostly because you  could have made the Shane Hollander character Jane Hollander and it would have played out like a straight romance, except with men.  I think a few homophobic slurs in the locker, or even a little more misogynistic sex talk among the players might have given the show a bit more realism.  There would have been a frightening reason for remaining closeted.   However, the representation on national TV was without a doubt the best thing to happen to the gay community in like... forever, even if it did have that Spielberg ending.

And Orangie's first State of the Union speech is this evening.  I'm going to be joining millions of Americans and not watch it.  All he's going to do is lie.  Tonight will be a repeat of everything we've seen over the past year.  He will glory in the attention, all the while spewing deceit, after deceit, after deceit.  No president in history has had a lower approval rating at this point in his presidency.  He is like the our current temperature, the only difference being that our temperature will rise.  That's right, we will heat up while Orange slowly dies in the dead of winter.

From what I'm hearing, Orangie's going to be kicking at least 2 dead horses, one called Biden and another called Obama.  It's also quite possible he kicked around the lies about election fraud, so that might be a 3rd dead horse.  I also expect him to be seriously medicated, probably a fresh transfusion of young, virginial blood to keep him from soundowning.

Blizzard of Lies

So, a combination of drizzle and snow is falling, mostly drizzle, a wintery mix their calling it on Accuweather.  We are under winter storm warning.  Two weeks ago we were in a similar situation.  Back then they forecast up to 16 inches of snow and we got about nine inches.  The forecast for today is between 4 and 8 inches, so I'm betting we're going to be on the shy side of 4 inches.  The Jersey shore?  That's another matter.  I do suspect they're going to get hit.

At work yesterday I had a nice hardwood installation go through.  My sales goal for the week is a done deal.  I need another measure to hit my goal.  I'm not even going to attempt to sign someone up for a credit card, as I said before, that's just not in my nature.

My neck of the woods, meaning Mechanicsburg, Camp Hill, as well as Enola, is under a water restriction.  We're supposed to use between 10% - 15% less.  There were a number of comments by dissatisfied customers on Facebook.  One stared with "Ima," not I am or I'm.  Usually, people who use trendy slang do so because they're something in their nature which requires them to be... well trendy.  Slang comes and goes, believe me.  Rarely does it ever become part of the language.

The Orange Anus posted this on his Truth Social account.  Someone needs to tell him that both US Nave Hospital ships, the USNS Mercy and the USNS Comfort, are in drydock down in Mobile, Alabama.  Nobody knows what this is about.  This is what dementia looks like.

The State of Union speech is tonight.  I will not be watching.  Apparently there are going to be a large number of Democrat no shows.  There will be Epstein survivors in attendance.  I hope they all carry some sort of placard with the words Release the Files.  With his approval rating as low as it is, I don't think this speech is going to matter one bit.  In fact, looking back on this rage speech after the Supreme Court handed him a defeat, I would not be surprised if he doesn't do more damage to himself.    This year's State of the Union speech may go down in infamy, mostly because it will be nothing more than a blizzard of lies  I will wait until afterwards to look at the comments.

And whether true or not, it seems as though Orangie may have called into a CNN talk show using his alias John Barron. He's been known to use this name in the past.  CNN wisely cut him off.

Constant Fools

Holy cow!  The temp was 54 (F) when I woke up this morning, though rain is on the way, lots of rain, according to the weather forecasters.  We need it.  Spring is a rainy season, and I have no problem if the showers arrive early.  The only problem I might have is Howie, as he has no problem turning himself into a muddy mess, and while Biggie and Lily had problems with getting rained on, Howie seems to glory in that wet dog smell.

If I hadn't cleaned the big aquarium, yesterday would have been pretty much of a meh day.  I did go grocery shopping, mostly to pick up some ice cream to celebrate Howie's birthday.  He's 7 months old.  Just think, in another 5 months he'll be a year old.  My doesn't time fly?  By now I can tell that he's not going to be as tall as Biggie, who was so much larger than your average Boxer, but he is longer, and that's not counting the length of his tail.  Howie's also much more active.  One thing he does have in common with my other dogs is that he loves to sit in the front of the yard watching the world go by.  He will sit there for hours if I let him.

The over all tone for The Body in 4/4 time will focus less on the dramatic and more on the humorous, I can say this because Bobby Tussel will be playing a larger part.  His total lack of filters make him a fun character to write since he allows me creativity without limitations.

And, of course, so many are talking about the Orange Anus spewing bullshit during his State of the Union address last evening.  I didn't watch.  I played Skyrim.  To be fair, I never watch speeches, presidential or otherwise.  I don't find them in the least bit inspirational since, to again be fair, there's very little honest to goodness truth in them.  They are chock full of misleading generalities and quite often media outlets add in their own substantiation.  Also, there is the fact that the Orange Anus is a pathological liar.  Anyone who believes him is one of those "fool me once, fool me twice, fool me thrice" people who will never accept the fact that believing in him makes them constant fools.

And there were protests.

Al Green, the Democrat from Texas was removed.  Praise be to Al Green, the representative from Texas.

There were rumors dropped by the Secretary of Commerce yesterday that Orangie might be walking back some of the tariffs on Canada and Mexico.  While that would be nice, I believe he's simply blowing more smoke up America's ass.  Last night he said something to the effect that he's going to spread the tariffs around and now include India and South Korea, among other countries.  Prep yourselves, the recession is on our doorstep.

Respect

Well, Saturday has arrived and there is 100% chance that we're going to have rain, not only today, but the entire weekend.  Temps will sink into the upper 40s (F), which is about normal for this time of year.  Sadly, my grass is looking a bit green, and that means it'll soon be time to get out the mower.

Yesterday was sort of a day of accomplishment.  The living room aquarium was cleaned; still trying to get rid of that pesky black algae.  Editing was done. Stuffed cabbage rolls were made... though, I've discovered using ground chicken rather than ground beef leaves a little to be desired.  It's a fairly easy dish to make, but the strong cabbage flavor overwhelms the chicken... as does the garlic.  Still, I tell myself, they are healthier.  Sometimes, however, you need to put flavor before health, especially when most of the time I'm eating healthy.

Otherwise, yesterday was pretty nondescript.  Some cleaning.  Some polishing.  Some exercise:  30 minutes on the treadmill.  Today I want to row for a bit, and because I'm working, I'll get my steps in.  Last Sunday I had over 15,000 steps which with the size of my stride was over 5 miles.

Right behind my store is the Navy supply depot.  It is large, possibly the largest on the eastern seaboard, and employs thousands.  It's one of the reasons why we tend to plow through depression and recessions; they never lay any of those thousands off.  This morning I found a picture of what it looked like circa 1950.  It is much larger now.

And the fallout is still... dropping from Biden's Sate of the Union address and I find it amusing.  Fox is blubbering through a cavalcade of phony theories regarding his clarity, and his message.  Many are chortling and Mikey Johnson's flummoxed look, the multiple frownings  and the shakings of his head.  People are noting that when Trump was speaking, Pelosi gave him the respect he didn't deserve, though she did tear up his speech after the fact.  Not petulant Mikey Johnson.  He needed to make sure the MAGA cult knew he disapproved.

As expected, Republicans are finally admitting they liked Kim Britt's performance as a Stepford Housewife, and I'm not doubting many of them are secretly praying she gets nominated for an Emmy.

The Rebuttal

Friday is upon us!  And it going to be nice, warm, temps in the mid 60s (F), but definitely not a precursor to the weekend, which will be filled with overcast skies and drizzly, showery storms that are more of nuisance than anything else.

The weather will have a dampening effect on the garden center at the large, brick and mortar, orange home improvement retailer where I spend time on the weekends.  One thing I have noticed is that usually around this time of year, when people begin getting their refund checks back from the government, business in the flooring department picks up.  This year there hasn't been much of a change.  Sure, we're a bit busier, but not like in previous years.  I'm betting that those big heads down at corporate failed to predict this and gave us a flooring plan that's unreachable.

I got a 10 mile bike ride in yesterday, in Japan, on an old railway line that's been converted to a cycling, walking trail.  The route was very flat, boringly so.  I did not make it one of my favorites and will probably never ride it again.  While it was nice to get in the distance, I would have rather spent the time climbing a few very small hills.  That was not the case.

While Biden was giving his State of the Union Speech last evening, I was at the movies watching Dune 2.  It is, as so many people are saying, very good, the kind of spectacle movie goers haven't seen in a long, long time.  That being said, I must also say that if you've read the books, you know liberties were taken in the writing of the screenplay.  That being said, the movie is still amazing.

And, of course, last evening, Joe Biden gave his State of the Union speech.  By most accounts it was very good.  Conservatives hated it because they've spent so much time and effort into making their base believe he's feeble.  That was not the case.  Many, who are not conservatives, said it was a fiery stump speech.  I understand MTG heckled, and Biden heckled back, that's something Republicans are not used to dealing with; part of their shut up, we're in charge mentality.   Unfortunately, we are now in campaign season and I'm so glad I don't watch TV with commercials, no political ads for me.

The funniest part of the evening, at least from what I'm reading, was the Republican rebuttal by someone named Katie Britt who spoke in a soft, almost whispery voice from her kitchen.  That's right, her kitchen.  Did they really believe that the old housewife and mother image, speaking form her very well appointed kitchen (she's wealthy), was really going to impress the largest voting bloc in America?  I did watch some of it but found the saccharine phoniness to intense.  That being said, if anyone out there watched the entire rebuttal, can you tell me if the camera panned down to show she was standing there barefooted?  You know the old Republican saying, women should be barefoot and pregnant.

On the Menu

Good Morning!  The weather outside my window here in Central PA is nice, almost reaching the balmy stage.  That will happen later this afternoon when the temps reach their high in the mid 50s (F).  The same forecast is in store for tomorrow.  This winter has been moderate.  I've no problem with that.  We've also been rainier than usual, with more on the way.

I'm going to try and burn tons of calories today since I ate so many yesterday.  My caloric intake always goes through the roof when I go out for breakfast.  We ate at Denny's.  Even the water has calories at Denny's.  Starting off the day with a 1200 calorie omelet always triggers the carb monster I usually manage to control.  The only good thing about the carb monster is that when he is finally back under control, my refrigerator and cupboards are clear of high calorie carbs.

They drywaller packed up his gear and left yesterday morning, so I'm fairly certain most of the heavy construction is finished in the house next door.  Well, except for the bathrooms.  I suspect that's going to be noisy.  And, of course, they're going to have to put new siding on the outside.  They haven't done anything with the roofs, either.  It is all rather interesting.

I made a little video yesterday about the character creation in The Body Under Ice.  It's now posted on my Instagram account, as well as my YouTube channel.

The State of the Union was last night.  As usual, I didn't watch.  While on certain occasions I will watch speeches, mostly I don't.  The State of the Union is one I rarely watch.  Notice, I'm writing out the name, State of the Union rather than using the acronym.  I've never been one of those people whose secret desire is to be trendy.

State of the Union speeches have two purposes, to show how well the president has done, and to allow him to present his plans, a menu of high caloric dishes, if you will, for the next year or so.  With the miniscule Republican majority in the House, very little will get accomplished, especially when you realize so many of them are complete brainless.  How brainless?  Well, they only get exercise when their pet balloons decide to take them for a walk.

Sarah Sanders (Huckabee) gave the Republican rebuttal.  I'm certain there are MAGA voters who cheered at the sight of a fat, white woman wearing white, no doubt an attempt to imply she's pure of heart, telling America that with Executive orders she banished CRT and racism from schools.  Honestly, when I saw her picture I thought a Chinese weather balloon was floating over Arkansas.

The good and the bad

Holy Crap!  It's Monday... well, it is for me and I've got to work for 5 days in a row.  Every time I have one of these 4 day mini-vacas I realize how much I hate going back to work full time.  And I will have to deal with this crap for at least a year yet.  Once my car is paid off, who knows what will happen.
The Idiot Jerk in the White House gave his State of the Union speech last evening.  The MAGA heads went wild.  Some Republican lawmakers chanted 4 more years.  In case you didn't know, they are all about a white GOP dictatorship. And the Idiot Jerk, he knows exactly who is base voters are and he played directly to them.
Oh, and about that impeachment....  I don't know if any of you have seen the Idiot Jerk's approval rating, but it has gone up... to 49%  More Independent voters jumped on board his evil train.  Why?  Well guess.  A word to all of the firebrand Democratic freshman of the House, this is what happens let your anger run rampant.  The articles of impeachment were dead on arrival at the Republican held Senate.  I mean, did these firebrand freshmen really believe the Republican held Senate was going to shoot itself in the head?  No matter how powerful Adam Schiff's closing argument was, Independent voters did not see Crimes and Misdemeanors.  They saw a stupid old man doing something he should have been punished for, but they didn't think he should be fired.  The same thing happened at the Clinton impeachment.  The only better about this impeachment was that the Idiot Jerk's approval rating only hit 49%, Clinton's went up to 55%.  For those who don't remember, Bill Clinton was re-elected and the failed impeachment proceedings had a lot to do with that.
On the bright side, and I know many who are smiling broadly about this.... Pete Buttigieg won in Iowa.

This is evidently a hit to Bernie's campaign.  Bernie needs to deal with it.  He has to understand that in the scheme of things, no one really wants to be a Socialist.  Poor Uncle Joe Biden fared very poorly.  This is how life is.  An interesting point, I had breakfast with my brother yesterday and he, who loves his Christian Conservatives, brought up Buttigieg.  He said he thought Pete might have a real chance at winning,  He said he could 'get out the young vote.'  You have to remember, one of the things Buttigieg touts are his Christian beliefs.  That's important, he might be gay, but he isn't a scumbag.  We will have to wait and see how well he does in New Hampshire.

Let's slice the pie

No, no, no, I didn't bake a pie yesterday.  The weather was way too nice.  The forecast was for temps in the mid 60's (F) and we hit the mark.  I spent much time outside picking up branches and cleaning up the yard.  So did the woofy dogs.  All that running around in the yard tuckered them out.  Believe me, they slept like rocks.
Oh, and today is the last day in my 4 day mini-vaca.  I should actually go in and schedule myself something a little longer.  I have eight months to use the rest of my 'earned vacation time,' and I have nothing scheduled for the rest of February.  Don't laugh, but I'm actually waiting to see how the Coronavirus spreads.  If it kicks in here in this country the way it has in China sales are going to drop because... customers will just stay home.  Our economy will take a bit of a hit.  How big?  We'll have to wait and see.
I guess the State of Union is tonight... I think.  I don't really know.  The Idiot Slug in the White House only needs his base to watch.  No one else.  The MAGA heads will be glued to their TV screens.  The rest of the nation will be doing something much more interesting... like, oh, maybe playing Tiddlywinks.

I'm sure there are a lot of Repugnicants who are concerned he may go off topic, you know, being impeached and everything.  The minority group which makes up his base would love that.  Nobody else, and that will equal lost votes in November.
Oh, and I see the Iowa Caucuses ran into a little problem last night with their reporting.  Inconsistencies.  Not that they were hacked.  They just made the mistake of using a reporting system designed by Clinton supporters.  Now they look bad.  I wouldn't be surprised if their inability to provide speedy results doesn't make it into the State of the Union.  You see he, too, is desperate to find out how the pie is being sliced in Iowa.  He needs one specific name to attack.  Believe me, he will attack.  The one pure fact glaring him right is the face is that the Democrats in Iowa are unified in one singular aspect.  They want a candidate who can beat his ass back into Hell.  So, let's slice this pie.

It's... here!

Well, it's Thursday and I get to go back to work. Yippee.  I work 4 days, have off 1 and then I have a 40 hour work week.  Shit.  Then I have 2 days off and another 40 work week... double shit.  We have a new scheduler who's just learning the ropes.  I'm going to be patient.
I guess about 74% of those who watched the Idiot Jerk's speech approved of it.  Ratings wise, he had about a million more viewers than last year, but that # is actually less than his best at 48 million.  Keep in mind those 46.5 million viewers equal about 14% of the total population.  So, who really watched the Idiot Jerk?  Republican, and some Independents... that's all.  So, when they say he got a 74% approval rating... well, that's what you would expect if only his base was watching.  Duh.
And... of course, yesterday, being Wednesday, meant my desk arrived.  It was delivered by 2 nice, young me who picked it up and carried it in... without taking off the door.  This delay could have been avoided if initially they had just taken it out of the box.  I'm going to have a friend come over to help me lift it so I can straighten out the rugs, but other wise it's just ducky dandy!

In case you are wondering, the books on the shelves are original copies:  Tom Swift on the top, Jerry Todd on the bottom, so, in case you were ever wondering, Tom tops Jerry.
Here's another angle.  If you look, you can see Big Seig's head.  He celebrated the arrival by walking around squeaking his purple squirrel for about two minutes.

I started organizing my drawers last night, in between working on the new project.  Let me tell you... I have sooooo much space.

The Rebuttal

Well, today is Wednesday, my 3rd day off in a row.  Ain't that exciting.  I have a dental appointment this morning.  Also, the desk arrives today, sometime within a 3 hours window:  11-3.  It's about time!  If the company I bought it from hadn't tried to cheap it out on the first deliver, I'd be writing at it by now.
I did my taxes yesterday.  I am getting money back.  However, the $$$ are on par with what I used to get back when I was able to itemize... before the house was paid off.  With all of the 'wahooing!' and knee-slapping by the Republicans when they got their precious tax bill through Congress, I thought I might get more.... Shit!  That's Right.  I'm in the wrong tax bracket to get the big bucks!  Those bucks will be going to the likes of DeVos, and Mnunchin, and Schultz (the coffee guy.)  We know they're going to take those refund checks and buy something to help grow the economy, like those tailor made suits from a nice guy in Hong Kong,  or that handbag made of Italian leather from in Serrano, Italy.  You know, the kind of people who think Saks is just like Target, only with a better selection.
Oh, and the Idiot Jerk in the White House gave a speech last night.  Evidently he accused Democrats of not kissing his ass.  The women wore white... his favorite color, so you know he couldn't stop looking at them.  He still wants his racist Wall.  Main Stream media was fair, from what I can tell.  I didn't check, but I'm sure Faux News chortled their Hosannas the they they always do.
I did watch some clips of Stacey Abrams' rebuttal.  She was calm, and well spoken.

How shrewd of her to call out the 'shutdown' as an engineered plot by the Idiot Jerk in the White House.  He thought that would be a great bargaining chip.  He's always been an asshole.  I liked the fact that their were people behind her, listening to her, representing America.  I wonder how many Republicans nearly broke their fingers changing channels in order to avoid seeing her.  It will be interesting to see how she does in the ratings.
Finally, I guess the Idiot Jerk complained about all of the investigations... it seems like a new one is popping up everyday, doesn't it?  Anyway, he cited them (at least that's what he seemed to be saying) as keeping him from doing his presidential duties.  Shit. This guy has 60 Executive Hours each week.  All he does is watch Fox News and eat McDonalds.

Shiny

Well, it's Tuesday, my 2nd day off in a row.  I'm loving it.  Of course, the price will be having to work for 4 days straight followed by two 40 hours weeks.  Shit.
Being that it is Tuesday, February 5, you should all be aware that the Idiot Jerk in the White House is going to be farting his way through another series of lies this evening on National Television.  I'm wondering if, perhaps, Stacey Abrams, who will be giving the Democratic rebuttal will get higher ratings.  In case you didn't know, that happened the last time he chose to spew his racism on National Television.
And the first thing this morning I had to do some changes to my Google account.  I like Google as a browser, however, they want you to sign up for all of these other things... like Google Drive.  A long time ago I had a problem an old Dell PC.  I called their Help Desk and the woman, who was very nice, told me how to fix it... the wrong way, and my hard drive was wiped clean... Oops.  So I got Google Drive mostly for their Backup and Sync app.  Everything was now going to be save.  Everything.  Every picture, every video, every note... is saved in my computer and in Google Drive.  Deleting things from my computer, like pics of the Idiot Jerk I use in my blog, does not delete them from the drive, however.  Deleting things from the Drive takes them out of both places.  Of course, I started running out of space in the Drive and Google wanted me to buy more space.  You know?  Pay money to store shit I'm never going to use?  Right.  So, this morning I uninstalled the 'Back up and Sync' app.  I like using cloud storage, but only for those things I want to save, you know?  Like dog pictures.
Anyway, I finished shining up the silver candelabra for my desk (which arrives tomorrow, supposedly).  This is what it looks like all polished up and shiny.

Books Are the Order of the Day

Thursday, and I'm the only flooring specialist on the schedule today.  This means if you want to buy anything after 4:30 PM you're going to be dealing with the aisle maintenance people.
How about little old Nancy Pelosi shoving her shiny, little pump up the Idiot Jerk's ass yesterday?  Security, you know?  "Let's hold off on the State of the Union," she said, twisting her sharp, tiny heel to the left.  Kristjen N from Homeland Security fired back saying "no, no, no," without understanding how much she sounded like Mr. Bill.... remember Mr. Bill?

Mike Pence's wife got a job at a phony Christian School where the focus is on Passing Judgement.  I checked, she does have experience teaching art... in elementary school so it's not like this was just a blatant political move to shore up the Crazy Christian base.  But let's be honest here, the only voters Pence can count on when he runs for President are the Crazy Christians.  Funny, isn't it?  This is a group so craven for power, for the ability to Pass Judgement, they don't realize they are sinning themselves straight to hell.  No one said they were smart since they evidently seem to be following the playbook they stole from "Mr. Bill's Almost Devout" book on Theology.
I was talking to Cori yesterday about the artwork for the next book.  She did the cover for "The Body on the Lawn."  To be honest, she wasn't that impressed about that one, though everybody seemed to like it.  She said "It's just some woman standing in front of a Cadillac."  "Oh," she said, I get to play around with a little more joie de mort."  I had printed off a number of pictures and given them to her, like this one:

It's actually not as large as it seems in the pictures.  The first time I stood in front of it I had to pause because I thought it was going to be gigantic.  It isn't.  And in spite of the low hum of voices, I have to say the mood around the display is very quite, people feel muted in the presence of something so great.  Quiet rules constantly... except for that afternoon during the Tour de France when something... unpleasant... took place on the staircase leading down from Winged Victory.

White trash at the State of the Union

I didn't watch President Obama's last State of the Union address, I worked.  However, I did see that Kentucky's Queen of White Trash did manage to get a ticket.  And, of course, people were curious.  And, of course, her pimp Mat Staver said an admirer had given her the ticket, which was true, however the admirer isn't exactly bragging about it.  That admirer was none other then Jim Jordan, Representative from Ohio, a man who's been given several awards by the anti-gay establishment, and now his office is saying they didn't know who was getting the ticket.  Ahh, I smell bullshit, since he and her pimp seem to be on a first name basis.
Anyway, I thought it interesting that Kim decided to dress up in true White Trash Fashion.

She wore some sort of frock with an American Flag jacket.  Of course, it isn't really an American Flag, just the red, white and blue and stars.  You know, if that had been a Democrat, or an Independent, the crazy conservatives would have been throwing up a shit storm.  But for White Trash Kim, that kind of get up is fine and dandy.  She's proving that she's a true American wack job, the same kind they hold near and dear in their crazy, conservative hearts.
