Bluntness

I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

The Outer Worlds 2

We have warm temps outside.  Currently our thermometer is sitting at around 48 (F).  We also have rain.  It's been raining all night.  Forecasters had been calling for an inch of more of rain and I do think they were right.  Looking at the weather map of Central PA, there is still a lot of green swirling around overhead.  Temps are expected to drop much for the next few days.  That's nice.

So yesterday was busy, considering it was a Wednesday and here of late Wednesdays have been rather meh.  I spent most of the morning working on my gaming PC, the one IT fixed.  Well, they fixed it alright.  They have a very conservative idea of just what malware is that's not even close to what I worry about.  Here's an example: Google Play Store.  They consider this malware because you might download an app which might affect your computer.  Well, hell.  They deleted so many things I consider normal, and so I spent a good hour and a half changing the rules in my Panda Security to get things back to normal.  Will they get a renewal in a year? Nope.

My workout yesterday went well.  After my birthday we're going to change up some of the exercises and increase the weight I use in others.  Damn, I may actually have to go out and buy some heavier dumbbells.

And last night I spent some time playing Outer Worlds 2.  It's a new RPG from Oblivion.  I like it.  I am dying a lot, but that's normal in the beginning of a game.  Of course, even though I had to buy the game, it has an anti-capitalism message.  There's also sarcastic humor, as well as the old, reliable dumb humor.  I have no problem laughing as I'm killing aliens.  This is an age restricted video (blood and gore) so you will need to click on the link to go to YouTube to watch it.

The Orange Anus is in South Korea serving up Tacos to anyone who wants one, and in return he's getting nothing.  Well, that's not quite correct.  The Prime Minister of South Korea did give him a toy crown.  The idiot could hardly take his eyes off of it.  World Leaders know how Orangie is so starstruck whenever he's in their presence, especially if they happen to be dictators, then he practically drools.

He just had a meeting with Xi and only dropped 10% off their tariffs.  It would have been more but they didn't give him a crown, just another framework for a trade deal.  If you see any of the clips, you'll notice that while Orangie is grinning like a drunken baboon, all Xi does is smugly give him a rather condescending smile.  Xi knows an idiot when he sees one.

Finally, there were lots of layoffs yesterday because billionaires are only in it for themselves.  They simply don't care.  They never will.  They are a plague on all of our houses.

Glimmers of Truth

Here in Central PA, our overnight lows did not drop below 40 (F), in fact when I check the temps this morning I found myself looking at 44 (F).  This is a nice savings on my heat expense.  Tomorrow, however, our weather forecasters are calling for up to an inch of rain.  That'll bring the temps down, as well as the leaves on the trees.  We're heading towards the middle of Autumn, so it's about time for them suckers to fall.

Yesterday was somewhat busy, somewhat hectic, and somewhat expensive.  A lot of chores were done, mostly because I stayed around the house.  I didn't go anywhere because I had a tech working on my upstairs computer, something happened to my VPN.  Damn.  I was getting a lot of errors letting me know that websites were failing to respond, or there was no signal.  Threads was one of them, and I do like to Thread on occasion.  Some of the time I watched, since everything they did (at one point there were 3 of them) showed up on my monitor.  Part of the problem was an old Kaspersky Anti-Virus app that I'd used for a short while.  Even though I'd uninstalled it, there were bits and broken files still floating around.  There were other things as well. Several corrupted Amazon Music files.  No malware, though.  Well, now it's clean as a whistle.  I signed up for a year of maintenance; that I will cancel rather than renew.

I did get a 50+ minute bike ride in.  This one was in Saskatchewan.  I didn't like it.  There were too many miles before I got to the first hill, and even though I'm not wild about hills, they are good for my legs and my cardio.  This does, I suppose, mean that I'm going to become a climber.

Things are going to get done today as well.  I've started using my alarm again.  I was in the habit of getting up early and somehow that habit got set aside.  Now I'm working to get make once again part of my routine.

And even though we all know you should never rely on polls because most of them are inaccurate, when Orangie's go low they're more accurate than when they go high.

What makes negative polling so significant is the fact that so much of Main Stream Media is busy sane-washing the Orange Anus.  Just think about it.  The idiot does Weeble Walk in Japan and MSM says nary a word while social media erupts.  He admits to basically struggling through a dementia test and major news providers gloss over that fact.  It is both Liberal and Social media where we see his failures highlighted.  That, in itself, is having a bearing on these negative polls.  The sources from where we get our news are changing  While the majority of MAGA cultists will never leave Fox Entertainment, some of them are now looking to Threads and Bluesky for information, and while it's true many of them are there to denigrate, by doing so they can't help but catch glimmers of the truth.  These glimmers are beginning to be reflected in the negativity many Americans are now feeling.  Lies can only go so far before the high cost of food smashes them to pieces.

On the Menu

Good Morning!  The weather outside my window here in Central PA is nice, almost reaching the balmy stage.  That will happen later this afternoon when the temps reach their high in the mid 50s (F).  The same forecast is in store for tomorrow.  This winter has been moderate.  I've no problem with that.  We've also been rainier than usual, with more on the way.

I'm going to try and burn tons of calories today since I ate so many yesterday.  My caloric intake always goes through the roof when I go out for breakfast.  We ate at Denny's.  Even the water has calories at Denny's.  Starting off the day with a 1200 calorie omelet always triggers the carb monster I usually manage to control.  The only good thing about the carb monster is that when he is finally back under control, my refrigerator and cupboards are clear of high calorie carbs.

They drywaller packed up his gear and left yesterday morning, so I'm fairly certain most of the heavy construction is finished in the house next door.  Well, except for the bathrooms.  I suspect that's going to be noisy.  And, of course, they're going to have to put new siding on the outside.  They haven't done anything with the roofs, either.  It is all rather interesting.

I made a little video yesterday about the character creation in The Body Under Ice.  It's now posted on my Instagram account, as well as my YouTube channel.

The State of the Union was last night.  As usual, I didn't watch.  While on certain occasions I will watch speeches, mostly I don't.  The State of the Union is one I rarely watch.  Notice, I'm writing out the name, State of the Union rather than using the acronym.  I've never been one of those people whose secret desire is to be trendy.

State of the Union speeches have two purposes, to show how well the president has done, and to allow him to present his plans, a menu of high caloric dishes, if you will, for the next year or so.  With the miniscule Republican majority in the House, very little will get accomplished, especially when you realize so many of them are complete brainless.  How brainless?  Well, they only get exercise when their pet balloons decide to take them for a walk.

Sarah Sanders (Huckabee) gave the Republican rebuttal.  I'm certain there are MAGA voters who cheered at the sight of a fat, white woman wearing white, no doubt an attempt to imply she's pure of heart, telling America that with Executive orders she banished CRT and racism from schools.  Honestly, when I saw her picture I thought a Chinese weather balloon was floating over Arkansas.

Weighing in on things

Oh my gosh!  It's Sunday!  and I'm off.  That's right, I'm not scheduled.  This is the first of 3 days in a row!  It's like a mini-vacation, you know?  And just think, I already have a load of laundry in the washer!
I went to see "It, Chapter 2) last evening.  It's good.  However, I have to say I thought the first part was better. The first film was based solely on the 'Losers' as children.  Chapter 2 is more consistent with the way the novel was written:  the children's story and the adult's story are intertwined.  In Chapter 2 both stories are juxtaposed against each other with each adult having a flashback to one specific childhood memory which creates lapses in the tension.  And then there is the Ending.  King tends to have a problem with his endings.  They don't always achieve the climax you are expecting.  A good screenwriter can fix this.  With that being said, Chapter 2's ending is vastly improved over the book, especially when you consider what they were working with.  Acting wise?  The cast does a very good job, though Bill Hader is definitely the standout performance.  His line "oh, there he is" made me laugh loudly.

A couple days back Sixpence blogged about supplements, how there seems to be a lot of erectile dysfunction out there.  I'm not a big believer in supplements since for the most parts there's not a lot of credible evidence on their reliability.  I do, however take two, and not because of any type of dysfunction, rather my reasoning is protein based.  Usually I will drink an 8 oz concoction of whey about fifteen minutes before I ride the bike.  Supposedly the extra protein in my blood will help make the ride easier... I don't really know if it does or not.  Whey is a fast acting protein which goes through your system fast.  For all I know, a healthy bowl of oatmeal might do the same thing... except that would hang around in your stomach for a bit, and that's something I don't want.  Any whey (haha) these are the two that I take:

The one on the right, Legion, is expensive but is said to come from grass fed Irish cows... the ones they have in Ireland...  ....  Don't really know about that.  At some time in the future I will most likely settle on one brand, which I'm thinking is going to be the "Gold Standard."  Over all that one has the best ratings.

"It," just might creep you out

I went to see "It," and I liked "It."  While being classified in the Horror genre, the film is actually more of a creepy, suspenseful thriller (emphasis on creepy) with elements of horror thrown in for good measure.  In the original draft some of the children, like Stan, had been replaced with composites.  Wisely, they are all present with all their idiosyncrasies, and their parents, in the final screenplay.  Their parents are very important.  They come off as insensitive, and creepy, and bad, and, in the end some are worse than "It."  This movie does more than flirt with pedophilia, and child abuse, and bullying, they are on full display.  Their parents are what make the 'losers' so strong.  Because of their parents, these children can look into the face of evil and say "I'm not afraid of you."
And "It" is  creepy scary, filled with scenes of family pictures on a slide projector, and chocolate Easter eggs, and gushing blood, and balloons, lots and lots of red balloons.  And clowns of course.  Clowns that eat children.

My surgery consultation isn't until 10/4 and until then I'm limited in what I can do... like just about nothing at all, except ride the bike on the trainer.  Everything else I do requires using my abs.   When I asked my Dr about cardio he said "walking is okay."  Walking?  That's about it.  So I'm kind of like saying "shit" all of the time.  Another thing is that I never knew hernias were that common... until I went to work yesterday and found myself surrounded by a sea of voices clamoring "I had one," "I had one," "I had one."  Cashier Judy said "I had a triple and when they were fixing it my lung collapsed."  Holy shit.  Anyway, I can't wait until it is fixed because right now I feel as though I'm turning into a load.

Little Tony has a dirty mouth

So, when I started seeing bits and pieces of Little Tony Scarmucci's conversation with the New Yorker yesterday, I had to sit myself down and have a good laugh.  Mastercard used to run commercials on TV in which someone either had a dream fulfilled or a gift beyond belief and they always defined the moment as "Priceless."  Reading how Steve Bannon was more interested in "sucking his own cock?"  That was a Mastercard moment!  Priceless!  And, of course, now we know Little Tony has a dirty mouth.  He's PMT (Potty mouth Tony).  You can bet your bottom dollar that everybody in the Idiot's administration talks like Little Tony when they're in private.  Not that other Presidents and those in their administrations didn't swear, and curse, and demean with vulgarities.  Little Tony, however, has publicly taken it to a higher level, and I have a sneaking suspicion he has not stopped his upward trend...actually, I guess I mean downward spiral.  He has not reached some high and mighty plateau as much as he fallen into a deep, deep hole in the ground.
And, of course, the GOP healthcare nightmare got flushed.... again.  Thank you John McCain.  I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't vote for the discussion just to stick his middle finger in the Idiot's face.  I'm sure he knows what kind of evil is retching around in the oval office.
Last evening I posted a comment about the Boy Scouts apologizing for the Idiot on Facebook and a Navy friend of mine, one of the shrinking numbers of Idiot Supporters, noted that the kids were having fun.  And I replied, "of course they looked like they were having fun, there was a clown on the stage."  I then went on to remind him that not all clowns are nice and that some clowns are downright evil.

I don't think he'll understand.  In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if he, himself, doesn't like to eat little children.  I'm sure Little Tony does, in between vulgarities.
