Of Baloney, and Bidets, and Blundering Breakdowns

Yesterday was my Hump Day.  I celebrated by having a German Bologna sandwich, with provolone and lettuce, for dinner.  You have to admit, when I go all out... I go all out.  Growing up, we called it garlic baloney.  Our sandwiches here made with either garlic baloney of Lebanon baloney.  Anybody ever hear of Lebanon baloney?  For those who remember, I actually grew up in Lebanon, the source of Lebanon baloney.  

And just twelve miles to the east of Lebanon was Hershey.  What joy my childhood was!  Baloney and chocolate!

 Yesterday was a first when it comes to questions being asked by customers.  I was heading back to the department from the Service Desk and I was stopped by a woman and her husband.  She asked me "where do you keep bidet hoses?"  At first I thought I must have misunderstood her, so I asked her to repeat her question.  "Where are your bidet hoses?"  As she spoke, her husband pulled a 6 foot hose with an... attachment... from a bag.  Now, I don't know if we sell bidet hoses.  Bidets are not that common in Central PA, unlike baloney and chocolate, so I pointed them to Aisle 4.  That's where we keep the sink hoses and to my knowledge, both hoses are about the same... except for the nozzle. 

By now, almost everybody in America knows about The Atlantic article regarding the Idiot Jerks real reason for not joining other world leaders at the celebration of D Day, besides the fact he was concerned that the rain might ruin his hair.  This man does not celebrate losers.  For the Idiot Jerk, in war there are either winners or losers.  If you happen to die in combat?  Well, for the Idiot Jerk, that means you're a loser.  Because he is ego driven, he has no problem telling people this.  He has said John McCain was a loser for letting himself get captured.  Because most sane people know this about him, they have no problem believing the article in The Atlantic.  This man is a hateful blundering fool.  Last evening he had a bit of a breakdown shrieking his innocence and blaming the 'fake media.'  The time has come to hold this man accountable for his lies and deceits.  Vote Blue.

Okay, so it's Thursday morning and I'm sitting here eating my oatmeal.  We're going to be getting some rain today... maybe a lot.  That's fine, as long as it doesn't turn to ice.  The dogs hate ice.
It's that time of year when my massive retail home improvement chain hands out bonus checks to every associate.  Our store was number one for the last 6 months of the fiscal year.  To help celebrate, my store is throwing a Back Yard Barbecue this weekend, both Saturday and Sunday.  Free food is always well appreciated.
New Zealand passed a superior piece of gun control legislation.  They are banning nearly all semi-automatic weapons.  To do so was relatively easy because New Zealand doesn't have a bunch of crazies who have sanctified guns.  In New Zealand the lives of human beings are much more important than the ability to own any, and every, lethal weapon you want.  Will we, in this country, ever learn... someday... after the Conservatives are ousted from power.
 And what about the Idiot Jerk and his followers whining about how he never got a Thank You after John McCain's funeral?  Yes sirree, he has fans who are shrieking almost as loud as he is about this, believing it's a sign of disrespect.  Holy Shit!  They are talking about the Idiot Jerk in the White House here, a man who show absolutely no respect to anybody.  Even when he's pumping phony praise towards someone you can tell he's lying through his teeth... or maybe I should say dentures.  In fact, the more he rants about McCain, the more George Conway appears to have nailed the perfect diagnosis on his mental state.  What's funny is that there are a number of medical professionals out there who have come to the same conclusion:  The Idiot Jerk in the White House is nuttier than a rabid squirrel.
Okay, and we have the associate at work who is a very nice individual.  Commons sense, however, sometimes flees when this person starts to talk.  Yesterday, while a number of us were in the lunchroom, this person was watch the weather channel on the big screen TV and suddenly turned to everybody and said, "you know?  we'd all be a lot safer if we lived behind a dike."  This, of course, is the image which flashed through all of our heads.

Of course, this is what she was really talking about.

Eulogies

Well, today is the first of 3 days off in a row for me.  Lily and I were outside for a bit - there's a slight drizzle..  They're calling for a heatwave - starting tomorrow, with temps in the mid 90's (F).  I don't know if I'd call it a heatwave - more like a heat spell.  Soon fall will be here and people will be lamenting about the oncoming cold and snow of winter.  Get over it, people.  In this region seasons change.  If you don't like it, move somewhere else.  Down south the seasons change, too.  They have hot... and they have hotter than hell.  Take your pick.  I'd rather spend 3 or 4 months dealing with snow than roast through that time being hotter than hell.
Yesterday was John McCain's funeral.  I watched some of the eulogies when I got home from work and went through some serous tissue time.  One of the bloggers that I read ranted about George W's presence, venting about the man's failed presidency.  He totally missed the point, but then some people are so obtuse they will never be able to angle in on reason, and purpose.  Democrats and Republicans were unified.  And... who... was... missing?  Who was specifically told not to show up?  There were three eulogies, by a Democrat, by a Republican, and by a daughter.  They all spoke of respect, and honor, and sacrifice, and all of them, while doing so, drove a nail into the political coffin of that one person who was told to "stay away."
I understand that as many in the nation watched, and wiped away quiet tears, this man who never gets an invitation, surrounded by snotty nosed leaches, cheated his way through a game of golf.  His behavior is appropriate for one with no moral compass.  Should we have expected anything else?  His disapproval rating has hit an all time high, and his supporters are getting really angry.  They are beginning to see his future is already lost.  They are starting to understand he is going to be uninvited out of the White House.  Their minority numbers are showing themselves to be rather small.  The temperature is going up.  They are beginning to sweat, not only the small stuff, but the big stuff as well.  Almost daily we get to see another one of his compatriots pleading guilty, and flipping.
This whole thing is, well, rather funny because this is what they voted for: a scumbag who has been lying and cheating all of his life.  A self-centered lout, he has colluded with anyone, and everyone, who could give him what he wanted. He is a living obstruction that will soon be flushed from the system.
Will he be eulogized when he's gone?

Don't Let your nuts get too ripe

I'm really being serious here.  Yesterday I went to husk my nuts and some of them were too ripe, black, soft and squishy.  Believe me!  There is nothing worse than squishy nuts!  That means the protective shell around the nut has started to break down and the chewy flesh has gone soupy.  I learned the soft way.  Shit.  That husker of mine pretty much shreds them into black, gooey pieces.  A word of wisdom here:  start your husking when they are still fairly green.  If you cup a couple in your hand and they firm and resilient then you are good to go.  After throwing out all of the bad walnuts, I ended up with... 6.

Also, there must have been a teeny weeny hole in the thumb of my left glove.  That's right, I'm stained walnut.  It will eventually disappear.
I went to see my Mom yesterday.  She was sitting outside wearing a blue sweatshirt and gray corduroy pants, and the temp was 91 (F) .  She got a bit testy when I told her she was going to get heatstroke.  She said she doesn't have any summer clothes because my sister wears them.  That's not true.  My sister wouldn't be caught dead wearing my mom's shorts.
Oh, and after a lot of complaining from both sides, the Idiot Jerk in the White House lowered the flags to half mast.  This ass is such a petty sack of shit.  He talks a lot about loyalty but only in regards to himself.  What else can you expect?  I'm sure he's a true believer when it comes to 'honor among thieves.'
I spent some time last night, and a bit more this morning updating my Dell laptop - the one with my cycling & workout info.  Rouvy has updated and I will no longer need to use a blue-giga dongle.  No, my dongle is not blue, in case you're wondering.  However I will no longer need it to connect to my trainer.  That will be so nice.

Crap, more rainy weather

We're supposed to have heavy thunderstorms today.  We had a thunderstorm watch the other day and ended up with a sprinkle.  The temperature is supposed to drop with the high only reaching the mid 60's (F).  Looking at the long range forecast (2 weeks out), this seems to be a pattern.  Just like last year.  While so far May hasn't been that bad, last year it was one of our rainiest months.
Of course there's a new stench permeating the ground of the the White House.  You know?  The aide who made that terrible McCain comment.  She apologized saying it was meant to be a joke.  Who in their right mind would want to be defined by that?  I'm sure there supporters of the Idiot Jerk found it funny, as well as the Idiot Jerk, himself, which is why we've heard nothing from him.  But then he's a scumbag.
One joke that is funny are the pseudo bribes by AT&T and Novartis....  Notice, I'm calling them pseudo bribes since legally they haven't been classified as bribes... yet.  Be prepared for large staffing changes at both companies as they attempt damage control.  For those who don't know, we are seeing "The Art of the Deal" in action.  Middle management money launderers used as proxies.  Useful people who are dufus enough to take the blame.  The Idiot Jerk will shrug and frown and wash his hands, irritated because now he's going to have find some other numb nut to do his dirty work.  That's where the real 'art' is, finding the next fool.
I was going to ride the bike this morning but didn't.  I did, however, order some more colorful socks.  They should be arriving today.  I'm excited.  Personally, I think it's having to work the 5 days in a row.  After a 2 day break there's going to be 6 days in a row.  Then I'll have a mid-week weekend and another 4 days in a row.  When I am off the forecast is for cloudy, showers, and thunderstorms.  I'd go part-time but I want to get a new car next year and that means banking some bucks and dealing with a car payment.
I think I'll go play around with the dumbbells a bit to burn off these somber vibes.

Little Tony has a dirty mouth

So, when I started seeing bits and pieces of Little Tony Scarmucci's conversation with the New Yorker yesterday, I had to sit myself down and have a good laugh.  Mastercard used to run commercials on TV in which someone either had a dream fulfilled or a gift beyond belief and they always defined the moment as "Priceless."  Reading how Steve Bannon was more interested in "sucking his own cock?"  That was a Mastercard moment!  Priceless!  And, of course, now we know Little Tony has a dirty mouth.  He's PMT (Potty mouth Tony).  You can bet your bottom dollar that everybody in the Idiot's administration talks like Little Tony when they're in private.  Not that other Presidents and those in their administrations didn't swear, and curse, and demean with vulgarities.  Little Tony, however, has publicly taken it to a higher level, and I have a sneaking suspicion he has not stopped his upward trend...actually, I guess I mean downward spiral.  He has not reached some high and mighty plateau as much as he fallen into a deep, deep hole in the ground.
And, of course, the GOP healthcare nightmare got flushed.... again.  Thank you John McCain.  I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't vote for the discussion just to stick his middle finger in the Idiot's face.  I'm sure he knows what kind of evil is retching around in the oval office.
Last evening I posted a comment about the Boy Scouts apologizing for the Idiot on Facebook and a Navy friend of mine, one of the shrinking numbers of Idiot Supporters, noted that the kids were having fun.  And I replied, "of course they looked like they were having fun, there was a clown on the stage."  I then went on to remind him that not all clowns are nice and that some clowns are downright evil.

I don't think he'll understand.  In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if he, himself, doesn't like to eat little children.  I'm sure Little Tony does, in between vulgarities.

Blinded by the Right

So, it looks like the honeymoon is over.  How do I know?  The GOP is beginning to dig their heels in becoming, once again, the most divisive political party in American History.  They don't understand that when you lose an election you need to learn to compromise.  Instead they seem cluelessly intent on catering to a shrinking base without even considering how bad this looks to the majority.  You don't win people over to your side by handing them what they know to be a plate of shit.  For example, take John McCain.  After losing his bid for the presidency, he should have sat out that last term as a senator and retired.  He would have earned so much respect traveling the country and become "the dignified hero."  When you chose a seriously flawed vice presidential candidate, and lose a seriously flawed campaign, you need to quietly step out of the limelight.  He must have slept through that lesson in school.  Now, he has basically become the unruly guest who will not leave the party.

Sadly, his only appeal seems to be to the right wing crazies who helped Mitt Romney lose his bid for the presidency.  I understand this January, McCain will no longer head up any committee and will be relegated to, if at best, a secondary position.  He is in his decendency and hates it.  As a result he will dig in his heels and say, and do, what ever it takes to get his name in the press.  Translate this into "he will not compromise."  This is exactly what the GOP is beginning to do because they also are in their decendency.  After the election there was all of this chit-chat bullshit about how they would need to re-evaluate, how they would have to compromise in order to broaden their appeal.  Of course, we all know that is never going to happen.  For this to occur they would need to admit they were wrong, that their political drift to the far right does not appeal to the majority of Americans.  I suspect they will continue to be an obstructionist party until they split themselves asunder.  Even then they will cry out and try and blame someone else.
