Bluntness

I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

On being the butt of jokes

My zinnia seeds arrive today, as does a refresher for my strawberry flavored whey.  I have a subscription for the strawberry flavored whey.   That's going to change.  I'm not that impressed with the taste; not quite as strawberryish as I had hoped.   For now I'm going to stick with the chocolate / peanut butter.
Another one of my subscription deliveries is also going to be stopped.  I'm supposed to be having my Every Man Jack delivered on a regular basis.  The last to shipments were cancelled - not in stock. If I want I can pick it up at my neighborhood Giant supermarket.  Perhaps the company has grown large enough they don't need to rely on Amazon for their sales.  Don't know.  I might begin a new search for another small company to help out.
They're forecasting rain for this afternoon and evening.  Yippee.  I'm off Monday and Tuesday, the weather is supposed to be fine.  I hope so.  It's time to sow my bulbs.
In case you haven't heard, there's the possibility Brexit is going to be delayed... again, or at least there's an agreement in the works for a delay to some unknown day in the future, possibly after a snap election.  Big mouthed Boris is failing miserably at getting this divorce hammered out.  In fact, most of the Brexiteers appear to be nothing more than hot air balloons without the pretty colors.
Here, in the US, more people are going to be able to see the unredacted Mueller report.  For those interested, this is what most of us get to read.

You can bet the Idiot Jerk in the White House burped up burning mouthful of rancid Big Mac when he heard this.  In fact, a Federal judge legitimized the impeachment inquiry.   I wonder if Lindsey Graham's thin, little lips began quivering when he heard that.  Not only is his future life as an ass-kisser at stake, he's up for re-election and the Democrat planning on unseating him is raising big bucks.  He might get fired by the voters!  Oh... dear me... poor Lindsey.
Oh, and Rudy the G has been butt dialing reporters and leaving long, incriminating messages.  He can't even get a break from his ass.

Weighing in on things

Oh my gosh!  It's Sunday!  and I'm off.  That's right, I'm not scheduled.  This is the first of 3 days in a row!  It's like a mini-vacation, you know?  And just think, I already have a load of laundry in the washer!
I went to see "It, Chapter 2) last evening.  It's good.  However, I have to say I thought the first part was better. The first film was based solely on the 'Losers' as children.  Chapter 2 is more consistent with the way the novel was written:  the children's story and the adult's story are intertwined.  In Chapter 2 both stories are juxtaposed against each other with each adult having a flashback to one specific childhood memory which creates lapses in the tension.  And then there is the Ending.  King tends to have a problem with his endings.  They don't always achieve the climax you are expecting.  A good screenwriter can fix this.  With that being said, Chapter 2's ending is vastly improved over the book, especially when you consider what they were working with.  Acting wise?  The cast does a very good job, though Bill Hader is definitely the standout performance.  His line "oh, there he is" made me laugh loudly.

A couple days back Sixpence blogged about supplements, how there seems to be a lot of erectile dysfunction out there.  I'm not a big believer in supplements since for the most parts there's not a lot of credible evidence on their reliability.  I do, however take two, and not because of any type of dysfunction, rather my reasoning is protein based.  Usually I will drink an 8 oz concoction of whey about fifteen minutes before I ride the bike.  Supposedly the extra protein in my blood will help make the ride easier... I don't really know if it does or not.  Whey is a fast acting protein which goes through your system fast.  For all I know, a healthy bowl of oatmeal might do the same thing... except that would hang around in your stomach for a bit, and that's something I don't want.  Any whey (haha) these are the two that I take:

The one on the right, Legion, is expensive but is said to come from grass fed Irish cows... the ones they have in Ireland...  ....  Don't really know about that.  At some time in the future I will most likely settle on one brand, which I'm thinking is going to be the "Gold Standard."  Over all that one has the best ratings.

Back to Work

So, I'm sitting here eating my oatmeal trying not to think about the fact that in a little over an hour and a half I'll be heading off to work.  Can you feel the excitement?  On a Saturday?
For those who don't know, Stage 19 of the Tour de France was halted yesterday because of...

snow and ice storm.  They day before the temps were hovering near 100 (F) in the Alps.  Today's stage has been shortened because of... snow and ice.
Oh, and the Supreme Court said the Idiot Jerk in the White House can pilfer $2.5 billion from the Pentagon's budget for his wall.  You know, he has to give the white racists in his basis their precious little foible.  This is why he tried loading the Supreme Court with Conservatives, so that horrid, little minority group can get what ever they want.
I put a mattress platform on my bed yesterday and moved the box spring out into the hallway.  I need to get it downstairs and out front by garbage day.  My bed is lower, by almost a foot.  I didn't know how I was going to sleep... well, I was out like a light.  The mattress is firm and I had no idea how much bouncy, bouncy the box spring had - that's what happens when you have 180 lbs of dogs jumping around on it thinking it's a toy.  The notion had cross my mind to buy a new mattress if this didn't work out, but now I'm fairly certain that will not be the case.
A workbook is arriving today to help with the Greek.  Learning the alphabet is the tricky part, teaching your mind that a 'v' now sounds like an 'n' is not as easy as you might think, and there's a letter that can sound like either a 'y' or a 'w'.  This is what's called exercising your brain.
Another thing arriving today is whey.  Legion whey.

Why whey, you say? (or ask, but that doesn't rhyme).  Protein, pure and simple.  I already use a chocolate cake batter flavor, this one is strawberry banana.  When do I drink it?  Before I ride my bike.  Before I ride, I make a shake of 4 oz whey, 6 oz whole milk, and 6 oz water and chug that sucker.  Protein helps you build muscle, that thing we tend to lose as we get older... and I'm riding more and more hills.  They're a pain in the ass... or, well, legs, and they're work.  Even though I will tell myself I'm not going to ride this evening, I know I'm probably going to climb on the bike after work... to work.
