Imminnent

Oh my, I set the alarm and got up close to my normal time this morning.  Prepping for tomorrow's back to work day.  I'm scheduled for 6 in a row, however the weather's supposed to turn nasty on Saturday (day 4).  Snow, you know?  Forecasters are say we may get anywhere between 2 - 8 inches depending upon what time of day and which app or radio station your following.  There's not an imminent  threat of heavy snow, they just want to deter you from driving.

And for those interested, I did bake my Devil's Food cake yesterday.  The topping is a peanut butter frosting sprinkled with walnuts... I love nuts!

And yes, it is a sheet cake.  Since I don't have a container for layer cakes, I'd need to eat the whole thing in one sitting.  And I know some of you are crying "show us the cake,"  "show us the cake!"  Well, feast your eyes on this.

Now I know some of you no doubt think the entire cake was in imminent threat of being eaten, I'm proud to say I managed to deter myself from such an attack upon this deliciousness.

In case some of you didn't see, the Idiot Jerk, and his administration, is now saying Soleimani was not assassinated because of an imminent threat, but rather his death was intended to be a deterrent.,,. as well as boost the Idiot Jerk's sagging approval rating.  Son of a bitch!  How many different ways can they spell stupid.

Another bit of dashing news is that the Russians hacked into Burisma Holdings, the company Biden's son worked.  No doubt they're trying to back up the Idiot Jerk's claims.  Why you ask?  Well it seem that when it comes to world wide approval ratings, Vlad scores higher then the Idiot Jerk, so does Xi, from China.  That's right, most people in the world believe the Idiot Jerk is more of an imminent threat then they are.  The good news for him is that he scored higher than Kim Fong Dumb.

Never Smart

Another late entry!  I set my alarm for 0500, it went off, I turned it off, and went back to bed.  Woke up a little after 0700.  This is how it goes.
The Devil's Food cake will be baked this morning.  Yum.  I'm also going to be making eggrolls for dinner.  I'll make a bunch and freeze some for later.
I also printed off my W-2.   All I need now is the one I get from Social Security.  Hopefully this year will be like last year and I'll get bunches of cash back.  We also get the first of our 2 yearly bonus checks in late March.  Right now we are the #1 store in the district.  If that holds, that check will be almost as tasty as the cake I'm baking.  If the $$$ stars align, I might invest in a Fenix 6.
Oscar nominations are out.  For some reason I thought they were going to be announced tomorrow.  I was wrong.  There had been a time when I felt I had to request the day off, they were that important.  Not nearly so much anymore.  I saw "Joker" leads the pack with 11 nominations.  I really didn't like that movie.  However, because of those 11 nominations viewership of this year's Oscars will be up.  A lot of people went to see "Joker" and liked it... let me paraphrase myself... I thought it stank.  I had no sympathy for the main character what so ever.
I am going to see "1917" tomorrow night.  It got 10 nominations, including one for director Sam Mendes, he won for "American Beauty."  I didn't like that movie either.  Depressing as hell is what it was.  A funny thing about "1917," is that it didn't get an editing nomination...  That's because it was filmed without edits.

Remember how the Idiot Jerk was going to save coal mining jobs.  Well, he lied to all of those coal miners.  What else is new? Coal fueled power plants are shutting down fast.  What does that mean for miners?  Job loss.  He has lied to so many people and Republicans just can't believe they, themselves, are integral in keeping his lies alive.  No one ever said they were smart, selfish and greedy as hell, but never smart.

Devil's Food

On my first day off I'm going to do... laundry.  Ah, the joys of life.
I also need to put some mileage on the bike.  Even though I challenged myself to ride 2500  miles, this start of this year is similar to the start of last year in that those miles are only slowly racking up.  I blame it on the short days. Most of my mileage  accumulates on afternoons on the days I have off, when the sun is shining.  Thankfully the days have started getting longer.  Every day we have at least one more minute of sunshine... on some days 2.
I'm also thinking of baking a cake this afternoon.  Devil's Food, maybe.  I haven't made a good chocolate cake in a long, long time.  I just have to decide on what type of frosting... peanut butter maybe.  That might be yummy as all hell, don't you think?  Something like this, perhaps.

My only fear is that the Idiot Jerk in the White House might send one of his henchies to steal it.  Wait, what am I thinking?  He doesn't eat Devil's Food cake, he's too busy feasting on white Crazy Christian cake.
As the days move on, I find it interesting how he and his administration totally fail to understand Americans.  They believe everybody is a moral degenerate.  As it turns out, that description only fits his base.  His reality show was a hit... but only among a certain group, those who are enamored of shallow, tin foil CEO's who desperately want to be dictators.  He thought assassinating Soleimani was going to drive up his approval rating... wrong.  Only 25% of the country feels safer... his MAGA Heads.  That is not a good thing in an election year, especially for him.  What he really did was shit in his pants and, to his chagrin, Mikey Pumpy-Dumpeo failed to clean his ass properly.  Now, apparently, barely a day passes with out them feeling the need to add another American Base to the "hit list."  Oh, and we're not going to leave Iraq, even though they want us out.  The Imbecile in the White House has just made things worse... maybe he should stick to what he does best: Cheating at Golf.
