Here it is, Tuesday, and I get to go back to work. My calendar has been fixed. My 3 days off in a row are next week. Blame it on anticipation.
And, I know, everybody is waiting to get the first glimpse of my fritters, some of you for a very long time. Well, without further ado, here they are:
As you can see, they look more like cakes. When fried, chickpeas take on a real nutty flavor, and even though they recommend a yogurt / cucumber dressing (which I did use) they are even tastier when using that not so Mediterranean condiment ketchup. Think of french fries on speed.
Back when Obama was president, right after the Idiot Jerk won by a technicality, some bimbolina in Virginia posted something to her Instagram account about Michelle, comparing her to an ape. Well, it seems this fool, a Conservative of course, claimed her home had sustained damages during a hurricane. She lied, and now she's gong to go to jail. She told FEMA her damages came to over $18,000... except there weren't any damages... none. Oh, shit! Can we talk about having bad Karma? Conservatives are such dumb ass wipes!
If that wasn't bad enough, look at North Carolina. Republicans and their voter fraud. It's always those who shriek the loudest, the ones who are constantly pointing their fingers, who end up being the ones most guilty. It is quite likely North Carolinians will have to go to the poles one more time. The question you need to keep in mind is this, if these corrupt conservatives were responsible for this type of voter fraud in the State Election, what did they do in the National Election. Did North Carolina really go to the Idiot Jerk in the White House. And, if white Republicans are this corrupt in North Carolina, what does that say about the Republicans in others states with large minority populations?
And isn't the Idiot Jerk freaking out about McCabe and Rosenstein? While I don't have one, I do know people who have Twitter accounts just so they can laugh at him. I do not doubt that there are quite a number of Crazy Christians running around wailing "Dear Lord, Make it Stop! Make it Stop!"
When you hit middle age you really only have two choices: you can get fat and lazy until you roll over and die, or you can can get off your ass and do something, like maybe ride a bike.
Bluntness
I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

When life is wonderful
Just some quick words this AM - I have a physical scheduled for 0800 at the VA Clinic, at their new location. Before they moved my appointment would have been fine, now it's right in the middle of commute hell.
Yesterday... the world laughed at the Idiot Jerk in the White House. That's sad. We used to be admired for our caring, and understanding, and compassion. Now we're a joke.
Rumor has it Rosenstein is staying... but only because the GOP is scared shitless over the midterms.
Now, for something nice.
Yesterday afternoon a customer came up to me asked about buying some a strip of roll carpet. She was house training her little dog. And as she talked, I thought, hhhmm she looks very familiar. So, I asked her "is your name Sue?" She paused for a few seconds, and then said "yes." At that point I knew who I was talking to. When she told me her last name, I said "I used to work with you a long, long time ago." She didn't recognize me at first, I suspect because I was wearing my Milburn Drysdale glasses. When I told her my name she said "from Marriott," and nodded. And then she had to cry a little bit as she gave me a hug.
When I graduated from college, I got a job with the Marriott in Harrisburg, in the accounting department. For 11 years she sat at the desk next to mine. She was then, and is still, a very, very nice lady. Here's my friend, Sue.
And for those of you who are wondering... she's 87 years old. Life is wonderful sometimes, isn't it?

On The Level
Okay, so I had to give a customer some bad news yesterday. I felt bad. She wants to have vinyl planking installed and... her floor is not level. Wit vinyl planking you floor can not deviate more than 3/16 of an inch over 10 feet. The problem is that it is a click lock product, and there is the possibility it might un-click. She has a 4 foot by 4 foot section where the deviation is 3/4 of an inch. That's some serious floor leveling. Very expensive. Her house was built in 1997, so I warned her this might be the case. She, of course, said "that's not going to be a problem, my floors are level." Wrong. Over time houses settle. Their foundations shift. They always do. You cannot not stop the Earth from changing. Because she walks on her kitchen floor daily, and because this 3/4 inch is not an abrupt change, she doesn't realize how out of kilter her floors are. This is life. No matter how balanced we think things are, more often then not, they are often slightly askew.
Like Rod Rosenstein's flippant comment about recording the Idiot Jerk in the White House. That was a good joke, with serious overtone. The Idiot Jerk found his sense of humor more than a little uneven. Or take the Brett Kavanaugh nomination. I guess he went on Faux News last night in an attempt to appeal to white supporters of the Idiot Jerk in the White House. The Idiot Jerk believe he could Republican members of the House and Senate stabilized... but then he's an Idiot Jerk. But then he is the Idiot Jerk in the White House. For years he's always had someone nearby who could clean his ass every time he shit in his pants - that's no longer the case. The funny part is that if he fires Rosenstein, the Blue Judgment will investigate, and scour out, every nook and cranny of the Idiot Jerk's life. The same thing is going to happen if Kavanaugh gets a seat on the Supreme Court. The balance beam he's trying to walk down is warped from here to hell and back. In fact, Kavanaugh's beam my be a little too bent. There's a good chance, if he gets the vote, that he might be the first sitting Justice to be investigated. Now ain't that a hoot.
Anyway, I will see if I can have the installers call the customer today and explain what's involved with leveling a floor. There are options available other than vinyl planks. The decision will have to be hers.

Heads Will Roll
So, this AM I was all set to order the Suunto Spartan when I decided to try and pair the Fenix one last time... and it paired. I checked and Garmin updated their app, now all I have to do is see if this is a good fix, or one that is only temporary.
And on the funny irony side of things, last evening I left a comment on 'I should be Laughng' about the Idiot, and that we should be perhaps a little wary of his Idiocy and then this AM saw on Towleroad that Matt Drudge had Tweeted out something about the Idiot and his continually declining approval ratings, stating "Heads will Roll." Of course they will, and each one that goes careening into the gutter will be another stake in the Idiot's dismal ratings. You see, the Idiot's more than a bit confused. You see in his illogical world, President is a synonym for Dictator; if you're a president you tell people what you want them to do and they do it... or else. And he's even more pissed because the country isn't even letting him act like he's America's CEO. Who's going to pay the price? Everybody. Sessions is on his shit list, so is Mueller, and Rod Rosenstein because "he's from Baltimore," not a lot of Republicans live in Baltimore.
The Idiot in the White House is a Scumbag, and has always been one. He's a pathological liar. His compassion for the American people might fill a teaspoon, if America is lucky. The fact that 32 million people would be affected by a repeal of the ACA doesn't phase him the least. In fact, the meatloaf he shared with Xi Jinping has more value to him than than the American people. We are worth less than meatloaf. He likes his chocolate cake, too, especially when it's been baked and served by legal aliens from Central America.
I truly believe that Matt Drudge, a gay conservative, is right, heads will roll, but that will only make the situation worse for the GOP. And, in the end, the Idiot and his spawn will move the Moscow suburbs, where they belong.

Trumps little world
For some odd reason I thought that today we were supposed to hit a high temp in the low to mid 80's and turned off the Central A/C before I went to the gym; that way I could leave the back door open and the dogs could run around in the back yard. Wrong. I got back around 7, checked my phone for messages and to sync with the Garmin Connect and saw that the temp was already up at 77 F and was aiming to hit 90. The back door got shut real fast and the A/C turned back on real fast.
And if you think the fun and games at the White House have been screw of extraordinaire you might want to fasten your seat belts. We may end up with a Cluster Fuck of Catastrophic proportions... for the GOP. Everything seems to be hinging on whether the Idiot fires Rosenstein. Either way the investigation is going to continue, canning the Deputy Attorney General will only exacerbate the situation in a most explosive way. You see, the Idiot is a small minded man incapable of seeing the much, much larger picture. In his world his hands are massive, in the real world, they're not. In his world he thinks great thoughts, in the real world, his blustery verbosity fails to camouflage a total lack of comprehension. In the Idiot's world gathering sycophants around a table and having them laud him with praises is laudable, in the real world? Simply laughable. He's going to try and fire everybody who doesn't kiss his ass because in his world that's his privilege. This is why the Idiot doesn't know the difference between himself and a dictator, and why he believes dictators are strong leaders: In his mind they are CEO's. Which is why this whole Russia thing is going to cut off his nads. In his little world he would have no problem with using another CEO to further his own ambitions, or another company. I have no doubt that when he was told the Ruskies could help him win the presidency he said, "we ain't started yet?" because in his little mind there was nothing wrong with that which is also why everybody associated with his administration is now hiring lawyers. In the end we're going to find out that just about everybody involved with his campaign new what was going on... except for Kelley Conway, most likely because no one felt they needed to tell the bimbo in the room what was really going on.
