Seduced?

 Heading back to work for 2 days.  I have a new / old Specialty Manager.  New, because this is the first time she's working in my store.  Old, because I worked with her for four years when I was doing HR.  This will be interesting. 

I went to see Free Guy last evening.  The movie is very funny at times, as well as being touching.  Guy is an NPC (non-playable character) in a video game, meaning you can't control what they do, who becomes aware, the equivalent of artificial intelligence.  As someone who plays video games, I have to say, this movie is a hoot.  For those who don't play video games, the movie is a rollicking, joy ride, at least this is what my friends told me.  I mean, can a movie in which Channing Tatum tries to seduce Ryan Reynolds be anything but great?  Does he succeed?  Hahahahaha! (that's my evil laugh, by the way)

I saw some sort of blurty bullshit where Mitch McConnell said he doesn't see any reason to criticize his associates spewing anti-vax, anti-mask misinformation.  Think about that for a second or two.  What he's saying is that he doesn't really care if people listen to that misinformation and die.  What a terrible justification for his silence.  Human lives lost because he sees no point in being honest.  This is pretty standard prattle from a Conservative.

Biggie's Birthday and a little more.

 Well, what can I say, today's the 24th of December and it is a very, very special day.  Today is Biggie's birthday.  He is six years old.  Of course, he doesn't know that... he's a dog.  The cake and ice cream are waiting for this afternoon.  He will think of them as a most scrumptious treat.  And tomorrow he's is going to get a rubber chicken.  I can think of a better way to celebrate the winter solstice.

And for those of you who haven't seen this twisted little bit of the brain of Ryan Reynolds, have a laugh.

That's right, ignore the Idiot Jerk and his pardons, every one he grants shows how much Republicans love their corruption and their traitors.  How easy it is for them to stoop so low.

So, would you hit this?

So, while the Idiot Jerk in the White House was creating more turmoil in Phoenix last evening, I went to the movies to see  "The Hitman's Bodyguard."  I got to see a comedy, action, buddy movie while the Idiot Jerk was reading edited transcripts of his Charlottesville Tweets in order to look less racist, and, of course this was to an audience that was mostly white.
The movie was really funny, unlike the asshole in Phoenix.  It is a buddy movie, and for buddy movies to work the two stars need to have chemistry... and Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson do have chemistry... and it is good, very, very good.  The action scenes?  They're okay, sometimes a bit long.  There's one in Amsterdam involving a speed boat, a motorcycle, Interpol Agents in cars, Evil Russians in cars, and it goes on a bit too long.  But the scenes between Reynolds and Jackson?  These two characters fit each other like puzzle pieces.  They are The Odd Couple with guns, and vulgarities, with humor that sometimes catches you by surprise as it slips into slapstick (getting off the roof of the Interpol safe house, for one).  Strange though it sounds, their verbal of abuse of each other gives this movie it's heart, and it's not a bad one.

As for Phoenix?  The Idiot Jerk spewed out more lies, outlined his racist beliefs towards Latinos, said that he would build his wall even if he had to shut down the government...  Someone should tell this walking, talking turd that one of the main goals of a president is to grow his base, not continually isolated from the rest of the country, which is what he seems to get his most pleasure from doing.  Rather, his main goal seems to be more about creating as much hoopla around himself, which is why he is the Idiot Jerk in the White House.

It's been one of those weeks, if you know what I mean.  I had to deal with a customer who called Corporate and complained about one of my associates - never a fun thing.  The claim was that my associate treated her so rudely, this customer probably would never shop with us again.  So, I called her and arraigned for her to come in the next time I worked, and of course she lied, and she lied another time two days later when she bought the most expensive paint we offer and wanted it at the lowest price possible.  And though she's now sitting smugly at home thinking she pulled one over on us, she's been red-flagged in the system.
Anyway, I went to see Deadpool last night.  I was impressed as, evidently, quite a few other people have been since it appears to be raking in money.  It's very funny, lots of one liners, so many in fact you really have to pay attention to what's being said - that's a good point, the audience stays focused.

I like the fact that's it's geared for an adult audience rather then a family audience, I'm not 14 so don't treat me like I am.  In spite of the fact that at times it plays like a comedy, this film takes itself very seriously.  I thought that the drama of a late stage cancer diagnosis was juxtaposed against Deadpool's revenge nearly seamlessly, and the mutation scenes definitely did not have a Saturday matinee family audience in mind when they were filmed.  It has bad language, nudity, and violence.  What else could I ask for after dealing with a blonde bimbo trying to rip me off at the store?
