And a fine, happy Monday morning to all you! From what I'm hearing, quiet Christmas's seemed to again be the norm this year. Sometimes, I think the media hypes the holidays too much. But a lot of it also has to do with 'keeping up with the Jones's.' Many people feel they need to have bragging rights about their holiday dinner, and they need to back up those bragging rights with pictures on Facebook, and Instagram, and Twitter (or whatever social media platform they're on). Personally, I could really care less if you jammed 40 people into your house just to create a photo op. I really do think if every time we saw one of these pictures we'd comment "Jesus, that's big fuckin' crowd,' people might stop posting them.
I had one of my memory dreams last night except this one was different. I went back to Lebanon Valley College, though I didn't go back in time. The English Department was, and still is, housed in what used to be an private residence. However, everything was current. Every professor I ran into had been a fellow English major, except they had all aged and I had to match their names with their older faces. It was a fun dream. LVC is one of the top 10 Liberal Arts Colleges on the Eastern Seaboard. You can see some of the old private homes housing, the English Dept. and the Foreign Language Dept. This is where I went to school.
