Ryan's Hope

We have rain!  And I'm not talking about spritzles, or sprinkles, or heavy drizzles.  We here in Central PA are enjoying the steady soaking rains our parched earth has been clamoring for so loudly.  According to Accuweather this should continue for almost four hours.  This is a good thing.  According to the forecast, we should have a few dry days, and then more rain next week.  Now we need the temps to drop a little, otherwise I'll have to mow my lawn again.

Things were accomplished yesterday, though a few chores on the list were ignored.  They will taken care of rightly this morning.  

I've been painting my bathroom over the past week or so.  The walls are going to be 2 different colors, the top section will be the same color as my laundry room, a pale, very sea-shoreish shade of teal, and the wainscoting will be the light, sand color paint I've used on all of the trim in my house.  I will post pictures when I'm finished.

EMTs were in my neighborhood this morning.  Their ambulance blocked my driveway, and there was also a police car parked across the street.  I wouldn't have known except my neighbor's dog Riley started barking.  They are gone now, so whatever the emergency was has been taken care of.

My trainer and I have been texting back and forth on my adding weight to my squat routine.  I hate squat.  Sore quads are the worst.  Yesterday, know poundage would be added eventually, I have in.  I'm hoping the weight will be low, like around 5 pounds to start.  

And Ryan Walters, the Cracker Jack Crazy Christian, Oklahoma's Superintendent for Education is resigning.

He's the one who was caught watching porn during a meeting, in case you don't remember.  He's also a Christian Nationalist with ambitions.  There's no mention of his porn habits in his resignation though.  Most believe this for the sole purpose of furthering his political career.  It seems Ryan wants to be Governor.  He's another one of those Crazies who doesn't realize that the volume of his base has no direct relation to how popular he is among the general public.  His attempt to put the Trump bible into every class room was not heralded by the masses, in fact, quite the opposite was true.

And even though we all know that polls tend to fair poorly when deeply scrutinized, now and then we must take them into consideration.  Gallup has just come out with a new poll which claims that only 29% of American's voters think the country is going in the right direction.  To give this some perspective, 28% of the country is registered Republican.  That % is probably off, but not by that much.  The latest Quinnipiac poll has Orangie with a 38% approval rating.  Again, all polls need to be taken with a grain of salt, still I do think the way they are trending is also important.  Do not believe Orangie when he tells the world he has the highest polls ever.  He's not only a pedophile, he's a pathological liar.

First snowfall

Well, we had some snow.  Total here at my house comes in at about 3 inches.  It's not really deep enough for the dogs to get excited.  They like to barrel through, sending plumes of snow scaling up into the branches of the the River Birch.  It sure does look pretty in the morning, though.

While my neighbors spent the necessary minutes last evening clearing their sidewalks, I spent my hour wisely... editing The Body in the Well.  I had to go buy bigger binders for the three people who read and critique.  In about three weeks I should begin to find out if bigger really is better.
Being that this is a day off for me, I usually end up doing laundry... surprisingly I am all caught up.  I am planning a nice ride for this afternoon.  It occurred to me that I should actually see if there are any in Pennsylvania, since I live here.  If there are, I imagine they will be very hilly unless they are in the eastern part of the state.
And I saw Iran launched missiles at two bases in Iraq.  Retaliatory, as a response the to assassination of Soleimani.  Will there be a response from the United States?  Well, the Idiot Jerk is stupid enough.  A large majority of Americans oppose a war, but we all know he only cares about what his minority base thinks.  He's certain that because he managed to pull a win out of his ass in 2016, the same thing will happen in 2020.  However, However, Gallup published stats on political parties which should give him heartburn.  47% of American voters consider themselves Democrats, 42% liken themselves to the Republican Party.  This is interesting since his approval rating barely manages float above 42%.  That's right, a minority group is dictating how this country lives.  Even when we kick their asses out of office, they will never understand their place in the world.

Well, it's Wednesday and I'm off work, so this is definitely not my Hump Day.  I'm off tomorrow as well.  Retail, you know?  Ain't no such thing as a regular work week.
I listened to an interesting podcast on Gallup about the shrinking GOP base.  The gist of it, for those who can't spare the time to listen, is that uneducated whites make up the majority of the GOP base, about 42%.  Five years ago they made up 45% of the base.  Their numbers are in the decline.  They are also becoming stridently more Republican... yep, they're getting redder even as they shrink.  Interestingly, it is the Idiot Jerk in the White House who is intensifying their... hue.  He has done this by picking targets the uneducated embrace, like immigration.  Paradoxically speaking, after Romney had his ass kicked the GOP spent lots of money to find out why, and, of course, the answer was minorities.  They just weren't reaching people of color... any color.  They decided the best way to grow their party was by converting Hispanics to Conservatism...  Their problem is no one told the Idiot Jerk in the White House, who has chosen to make the immigration of Hispanics and incendiary issue.  His uneducated, white base loves this.  Everybody else is saying... "what the fuck?"
AM had said that when she was at the Louvre there had been no glass pyramid, so I thought I'd share a picture of what you see when you take the escalator down.

And yes, if you want, you can touch it... and no, I didn't.  Back when I was in high school, there was a guy in my class who was expelled because he'd said to a girl he was sitting next to in study hall, "touch it, make it rise."  The last thing I wanted to do was rest the point of that pyramid in the palm of my hand and watch it grow....💫💫💫😃
