Bluntness

I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

Fox Entertainment

So, we're in the middle of mini heat wave.  Temps are going to be in the high 90s (F) both today and tomorrow.  Right now our outside temp is 74 (F) with a "real feel" of 85 (F).  I did a search to find out how "real feel" is calculated and it's a combination of heat, humidity, wind, and.... get this... solar intensity.  Solar intensity is measured in watts per square meter.  In reality, I don't doubt that someone stands outside for a few minutes and, upon coming back into air conditioned comfort and, ignoring the reading on the thermometer, says "wow!  that feels like 85 (F)."

I did work yesterday and it was slow.  Only myself and an aisle associate were scheduled.  I did talk to a few people, but mostly chatty conversations about old houses, and which floor leveler was best for a wood floor.  Usually I take something for dinner when I'm working that shift, yesterday I didn't thinking there would something left over from the weekend and there was:  yogurt.

Since this is my first day off, my first load of laundry is in the washer.  Rather than use the dryer, it will be hung out to dry on the rack, however because we're supposed to have high humidity, it may take a long time to dry.  This means it might be the only load for the day

The picture of Max the cat which was posted yesterday was actually scheduled for today's post.  A bit on Max.  I got him when he was 8 weeks old and he lived to be 21 years old.  He's the only pet I've had who's buried here.  He was a good cat, and is the namesake for Maxwell Sullivan, one of the main protagonists in my books.

So today, instead of Max, you're going to get a picture of Harrisburg.  This was taken from a drone looking east.  My house is located to the left and behind the camera.  The island in the middle of the picture is City Island.  A long time ago, before they built the baseball stadium, they used to have concerts there.  I saw, among other groups, The Grateful Dead there... twice.

Isn't it fascinating how even without the Orange Anus's tariffs kicking in, prices are still going up.  Many people don't know that a lot of them are on hold because TACO.  Supposedly, according  to that horse's ass Howard Lutnick (notice I didn't say Nutlick) they're officially starting on August 1st.  This is interesting because Chinese sources are saying that an extension  has already been agreed to because TACO.

And I read that Orangie wants Rupert Murdoch to be deposed within the next 2 weeks because Orangie is worried Murdoch, who's 94, might die.  Orangie better hope that Rupert lives as long as possible because when he dies control of Fox entertainment goes to all of his children.  Except for Lachlin Murdoch, all of Rupert's children hate Fox Entertainment. so with his death great changes may happen there.  Changes not to Orangie's liking.

Murdoch vs Trump

Our outside temp here is a cool 68 (F), the skies are cloudy, and we have a persistent drip, drip, drip of rain.  A warmup is expected... somewhat, this afternoon, though the humidity is predicted to soar into the uncomfortable zone.  I work this afternoon, so it really doesn't bother me too much.  Tomorrow we're back to our standard highs in the upper 80s (F) with the usual 45% chance of showers and thundershowers.

We are halfway through July and so far our weather patterns are different then what we've had in the past.  Temp wise they're about the same as in past years.  These are the dog days of summer and it's supposed to hot... and dry, and that's where the difference is.  We have, so far, and if the forecasters are to be believed, are in the middle of a rather wet summer.  There is the possibility that the dry spells will begin in August, so we can't rule them out.  Still, unless something changes, there will be no long, hot, sunny days with the cicadas plaintively singing for a mate.

I got a really good upper body workout done yesterday.  Some words were written.

The firefly left the bottle and found a safe spot on one of the kitchen cabinets.  Last evening I scooped him up and set him free in the outside world.

And I don't know about you, but I'm safe.

I was not surprised yesterday when I saw that the Orange Anus was suing the Wall Street Journal, Dow Jones, and Rupert Murdoch for $10 billion.  If you weren't expecting this, you must be living on Jupiter.  This is standard operating procedure for Orangie; when he doesn't like something, he sues.  That dollar figure alone is certain to get more people talking about Orangie and Epstein.  There had been communication between Orangie and the Wall Street Journal prior to the bombshell article being published, so you can bet he threatened them with a lawsuit.  After Murdoch's $787 million out of court settlement with Dominion over Fox's lies about the 2016 election, you can bet that's he's learned from his mistake.  The odds are probably quite high that the WSJ has more damaging information regarding the Orangie/Epstein relationship.  While I don't doubt that the Oligarchy is tremendously pleased for the tax cut, I would not be surprised if most of them despise Orangie.  They all know he's a puss bag.  They also know it would suit their purposes better to have someone less reprehensible in the White House.  With all of their billions, I'm surprised that the know so little.

News of the World Redux

If, unlike me, you're not working today in Central PA, you're going to be dealing with weather, thunderstorms and high wind.  If the forecasters are correct, especially the high wind.  We're under a high wind warning that begins at 0800 this morning and ends at 0800 tomorrow morning.  That means things are going to blowing all over my neighborhood.  Usually this means a stray garbage can will blow into my backyard.

I went to my local Giant supermarket yesterday, and when I got I home I gave my lawn a really big look at and realized I'm going to need to get my little mower out.  This is what spring means, growing grass that needs to be mowed, and I don't mind.  I don't mind being outside.

And I painted more of my trim yesterday.  I only put in about an hour at time.  I should have much finished on Tuesday, the first day of my weekend.  And Wednesday I'm planning on finishing off my kitchen ceiling.

Each day, publication for The Body Under Ice gets closer.  I'm excited.  Yesterday afternoon I finished the last of the corrections from editor #4.  Today the manuscript will go out to the fifth and final editor.

I made shrimp Lo mein for dinner last night.  The noodles ended up getting overcooked because of printer issues.  Even though they're too soft, they're still edible.  Half was dinner and the other half is going to be lunch today.

And yesterday was a sad day for Fox News.... so get out your party hats.  A judge has ruled that Dominion has produced enough evidence to send their lawsuit against the tabloid network to trial.  Old Rupert is going to court... again.  That old fool has been sued before and has usually settled out of court.  Not this time.  Rupert's luck with juries is bad.  The prime example is the lawsuit brought against News of the World, a now defunct newspaper owned by Murdoch.  A brief synopsis:  reporters for that paper hacked into the phone of girl who had been kidnapped and murdered, and wrote articles saying she was alive, and Rupert knew they were doing this.  Things went down badly for Rupert.  From the information that has so far been released, Rupert knew his on-air personalities were lying about election fraud in 2020 and did nothing to stop them.  News of the World was shut down.  Let's hope the same thing happens to Fox.

The Eyes Have It

So, yesterday was a bit different, all around.  The day started off with bright sunshine, temps were moderate.  I had my eye exam.  Had my eyes dilated.  My ophthalmologist gave me a pair of those very unstylish sunglasses to protect my eyes from the glaring sun.  By the time I got to work, however, the skies had grown overcast.  I discovered I was scheduled for a lunch break and hadn't brought a lunch.  Then the weather turned sour, with heavy sleet and rain.  I scavenged my lunch, ending up with a Styrofoam cup of Ramen noodles and strawberry Pop Tarts. Tastee!

In the end, all I really got out of yesterday were some really neato shots of the inside of my eyes.  The eye on the left is actually my right eye and the one on the right is my left.  There are some light reflections on the screen and that banding across the bottom was caused by the camera and has nothing to do with the eye,

I am still borderline glaucoma, so I have an appointment for next February when we will do the whole thing again.

And I don't know about you, but I find myself feeling rather gleeful every time I hear the bad news coming from Dominion's lawsuit against Fox.  This doesn't mean I'm not pissed off by the evil that Fox represents, rather I am pleased that this shit, which so many of us have known in our hearts for so long, is finally being made public.  The fact that Fox sent copies of Biden's campaign commercials to Jared Kushner for analysis before airing them is treasonous, but then that's true for the entire conservative movement.  Why do conservatives feel the need to cheat?  No doubt it's because they're a minority group who can't win an election without deceit.

As for old man Murdoch?  I'll bet that asswipe is shittin' bricks.  He pulled this same crap in the UK, funding conservatives who chose to listen to him in an attempt to control parliament.  There, too, it was one of his newspapers that brought him down.  Crushed him.  He got hit in the face with a cream pie and suffered public humiliation.  I don't doubt he has a little itch in his brain sayin' "been there, done that, doin' it again."  I, for one, find this simply satisfying as hell.

Hiding the Dirt

 Good Morning Monday!

After today, I'm scheduled off for 2 days, then back on for 2 days, and then off for a week.  Another Staycation is rapidly approaching.  This is  good thing.  I am so looking forward to those days, not that I have a lot planned.  That's precisely the point.  I don't.  Now, that doesn't mean I'm going to let my lazy ass lag around the house.  I will be busy.  I'm almost always busy.

There are a lot of specialists who aren't always honest with customers; they agree with what the customer says, knowing it's not necessarily true.  Not me.  I had a family looking for a carpet runner last evening.  The attractive ones were sold out, and so they were looking at one with an inch of black rubber on each side and used more for commercial applications.  It turns out, they were going to use it in their upstairs hallway.  When the wife asked me what I thought, I was honest.  I told them, "this is something you would use going into a 7-11, or convenience store."  They didn't buy it.  They're not putting it down to protect white carpet.  They just installed easy to clean, vinyl flooring in the hallway, the runner is going to be decorative at best.

The husband also said something I hear a lot.  The runner they were looking at would hide 'dirt.'  I hate that.  If you vacuum, you don't need to buy a runner to hide the dirt, or carpet, for that matter.  Yet a day doesn't go bye without someone saying, "this color is good at hiding the dirt."  Clean your house!  The fact that there are people looking for a color which will allow them not to clean, says a lot.  What?  Do they only want to vacuum every 8 or 9 months?  And it's not just carpet they want to hide the dirt.  Son of a bitch!

I had a nice little ride in Yosemite yesterday.  4.9% grade for the first 3/4 mile.  Fun.  You know how I love my climbs.

And, of course, people are really beginning to take notice that it's Rooper Pooper Murdoch's media outlets that are working on some serious overtime spreading the lies about Covid vaccinations.  I understand everyone at the network had to be vaccinated, but every show is laced with lies about the evils of vaccinations.  Rooper Pooper evidently believes there is more money in lies then truth.  This is fine.  I understand the ratings at Fox are on the slow decline.  This will continue as the crazies die off.  More power to them.
