Within the Sanctity of MY

Saturday and it's raining here... supposed to continue through the weekend.  That's fine, I work.  Monday's supposed to bring brilliant sunshine which is fine with me.
Oh, and I saw a Texas Federal Judge ruled that Obamacare is Unconstitutional because the Republicans took out the clause about 'financial responsibility.'  The states complaining were Republican.  If you look on a map they are the 'MY' states.  Republicans chose to shit away the 'family value' claim replacing it with the 'MY' moniker.  'MY' is their most favorite pronoun.  If you listen to a Republican, and more importantly, a Social Conservative, they quite frequently punctuate their conversations with 'MY.'  MY money.  MY taxes.  MY religion.  For the Republican, everything revolves around ME.  "I don't want MY money helping to pay for your insurance."  That's MY money.  It belongs to ME.  MY money is more important than your health.  Republicans have this growing disconnect with humanity.  Sort of like Ebenezer Scrooge.  Their focus is totally on the ME and the MY.  They take their cue from the Idiot Jerk in the White House.  They gather round and bless him because he has sanctified their 'MY.'  They believe he is a blessing because he "gives ME what I want most, the absolute authority of 'MY.'
My nephew Adam and his wife are expecting a baby in a month... give or take a couple of days.  She is blond and blue eyed, he is dark complected, brown hair and brown eyes.  I told them, genetically speaking, he's got it in the bag... literally.  Dominant Genetics, you know?  I think the odds are about 80% that baby's going to have brown hair and brown eyes.
And, for those who've forgotten.  Tonight I go see "Aquaman!"  Be jealous... be very, very jealous.

It's a snowy day here in Central Pa, melting on the roads but not on the grass.  Went to Giant earlier, may have been my last time... I had coupons.  Will probably hit the gas station at least one more time, I have .10 a gallon of gas.
Last night was interesting, to say the least.  One of my fellow associates told me that she's pregnant - she already has 3 so this will be her 4th... with 3 different fathers.  She told one of the paint associates she let herself get pregnant because her current 'boyfriend' wants to father a child.  Stupid woman, or maybe she's smart.  She's already getting  support for her other 3, and, most likely down the road she'll be getting support for this one.  She owns her home, a little ranch house, the result of a former marriage settlement.  So, maybe she has a future working part-time.
The jobs report for the last month is in and it looks good (don't you hate when that happens).  However, the replacement for Obamacare is... well, not going so well.  There is legislation, but remember, these are Republicans.  They had a chance to work with a Obama on health care and refused, said they were going to provide their own legislation and totally failed.  So I'm sure the Idiot in the White house will used the Job Report to try and cover up the bloodbath.  And I'm serious about that... the bloodbath.

I also had a chance to watch the first episode of Feud, you know, the thing about Bette and Joan.  I actually liked it, from Joan's plastic seat covers to Bette's constant smoking.  I've always been a Bette fan, more so than Joan, who was a movie star who desperately wanted to be seen as an actress.  Bette was an actress, through and through.  That spotlight at the end, on Bette in her Baby Jane makeup?  That whole scene said it all.

He's down by the bow

You don't have to look far to find out how most American's feel about DT, in fact, his low approval approval ratings no doubt are giving him that sinking feeling.  Now, I'm sure his transition team is saying things like "don't worry, this will get better," and "just keep slugging away, we'll hit the top."  Right.  And his bizarre doctor gave a very... odd interview.  Every time he see things like this he want to take a big step backward.  Cori, who works at the paint desk and who's brother is a Trumplodite, says the word going around is that DT is terrified of being assassinated, which may be why his appearances are so short and infrequent.  Didn't anybody tell him that goes with the job in a big time way?
I talk about Karma a lot, the fixing of mistakes, well, for DT this is Karma. A man who needs to have his ego stroked regularly steps into a position where half of the country already hates him.  No stroking going on there.  Winning the presidency was the worst thing that could happen to him.  Big chunks are about to be gouged out of his ego.  Good for him.  I do not doubt that he will go down in history as the "do nothing president," because everything he does that is unpopular with the public will be another sliver out of soul.
And the Republican Party?  They're all on the same boat.  All of their little, pet projects like rewriting the rules of Social Security, slashing Medicare, even gutting Obamacare?  They will fail the minute public approval starts to go south.  They now have a president who needs to be petted, and who wants to go down in the history books as being good, and being popular.  They would have been in a far better position had Hillary won, now they're going to be pretty much shackled by public opinion.  They have a Star who wants to sparkle, not piss people off.

And as for DT?  This is his Karma.  He now has to deal with the fact that not everybody likes him.  People really do hate him.  There are now people out there who now pray daily that something terrible happens to him, that he dies.  They chant "He's not my president!"  And he no doubt daily prays that history doesn't prove him to be the worst president in American History.  He is down by the bow and it ain't going to get any better.

These Republicans do make me laugh.  For years they've been shrieking how they're going to repeal Obamacare.  Now that they managed to get some Russkie Puppet in the White House it turns that they don't have a plan.  You see all they ever really wanted to do was repeal it.  They don't give a rat's ass about the approximately 20 million people on Obamacare.  Why would they?  Most of those people are poor.  Anyway, I saw this in Forbes.  Can you see them spinning in the wind.  It's sort of like they're throwing shit at a fan, you know?   It's all coming back at them.  What else is new ab out the dunderheads.
And it should come as no surprise DT doesn't believe his pal Vlad had anything to do with the 2016 election.  In his mind, Vlad is a strong leader.  Why would a strong leader of a country which has been one of our major enemies for decades do anything to interfere with American Democracy?Perhaps because Vlad knows how easily DT can be manipulated.  He will invited DT to a Russian State Dinner and DT will be all agog, a flutter.  He will change his tuxedo 4 or 5 times because he can't decide which one to wear.  This is how DT's head works.

You see, every time a strong leader pays him a compliment his feels he's is going stronger.  Of course, he's never going to be strong enough to stop producing The Apprentice (if that's the name of his reality show).  In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if DT is secretly hoping to have Vlad as one of his guest stars.  My, now wouldn't that be a feather in his cap.

The vicious circle of insurance fraud

I thought I'd do a quick jot before I go to work regarding Insurance Fraud.  There are 2 types: the first is perpetrated by individuals scamming Insurance companies and the 2nd is perpetrated by the companies themselves.  And, surprisingly enough, I have an example of both... in regards to the same individual.
Let me call this person Barb, and let's say she happens to be one of my associates.  Anyway, this past summer Barb came storming up to the paint desk in a tizzy.  Her husband's employer had just told him that since she works full time and can get her own insurance, well, that's what she needs to do.  They're not going to insure her anymore.  And, of course, they put the blame on Obamacare.  Of course, that's pure fraud.  His insurance company is just cheaping it out.  If Barb gets sick, her husband's insurance company doesn't want to take the hit; let that expense fall to her insurance.
And, of course, Barb does have health issues, which is why I'm referencing her.  When I transferred from the Carlisle Store to the Mechanicsburg Store she was out on Leave of Absence.  She had managed to break her foot and was supposed to be out for 2 months (?) which turned into 5 months, with multiple doctor visits.  Interestingly enough, during the time she was off the job, I'd seen Barb at my neighborhood Giant supermarket several times.  Each time I saw her, she said "I'm supposed to be wearing this boot but I hate it so I don't wear it."  She only actually came back to work when her disability insurance ran out.

This past August, Barb too 3 weeks LOA because she needed to have surgery.  She has / had trigger thumb???

And then two weeks ago she fell in her kitchen baking cookies and broke her ankle, and now she's going to be off for (she says) 6-8 weeks, but my guess it will be closer to 4 months.  When Barb has an injury she takes full advantage of her insurance, sometimes not being the most honest in order to take time off from work, and so she commits fraud.

It's a vicious circle.  People like Barb run up insurance bills that are unnecessary in order to stay home, and Insurance companies blame Obamacare in order to get these free loaders  off their expense report.  Wouldn't it be nice if insurance companies became more honest and transparent and people like Barb were actually penalized?

Asparagus Pee and the GOP

Because asparagus is one of my favorite vegetables, I usually eat it at least once a month, sometimes more often, depending upon how fresh it looks at the supermarket.  As always, when I went to the bathroom an hour or so later I smelled the now familiar asparagus pee.  I did a little research and the source of the odor is something called asparagustic acid, which is created during digestion.  About 60% of all of the people who eat asparagus get to smell this perfume.  Science is split on whether the other 40% either have sniffers which fail to detect the odor, or manage to suppress it.  I think they just have bad sniffers, just like a lot of the members of the GOP.  If you ask me, this is pretty obvious especially when you consider John Boehner's decision this past week to create a 'special committee' to investigate Benghazi.   He evidently doesn't realize how stinky that issue has become.  Sure, many of the GOP's base did achieve hands free orgasms when he made the announcement, but, like the 40% claiming they don't smell their asparagus pee, these voters don't smell a thing.  One can only surmise they are still beating this dead horse because mid-term elections are coming up and they want to keep their majority in the House.

I understand where they're coming from: they used heavy artillery to try and take down Obamacare and failed.  Not only did they fail, they made the party look bad.  Now that the Affordable Care Act is up and running, with something like 7.5 million Americans enrolled, we see that the economy hasn't collapsed.  In fact, Friday's unemployment figures proved it is still growing.  Their arguments against it failed to materialize.  They need something to attack both the Presidency and the Democratic Party and all they have is Benghazi.  I can tell you, after talking to some people at work, bringing up Benghazi is some real stinky pee.  Nobody cares because it's old news.  The problem is the GOP desperately wants a life preserver yet the only thing they have to grab onto are rocks.  It's like they are eating asparagus with every meal and all the while claiming 'my pee don't stink.'  It does, and you don't need to be in the same bathroom to smell it. 

Tea Party - Still lying through their teeth

So, I know there are a lot of people out there who believe the Tea Party is the best thing for this country since sliced bread.  They see it's leaders as honest, true patriotic Americans who are working only for the betterment of the country.  If you listen to them the Affordable Healthcare Act is worse then the bubonic plague; insurance rates will rise and jobs will be lost.  Personally, I think they are full of shit.  Yesterday I received my Benefits Annual Enrollment Guide.  Anxiously I ripped open the plastic sealers.  I needed to see how much my payroll deductions were going to be.  Would it be too much for my paycheck to bear?  Would I have to buy bargain basement dog food?  I prayed that they stay somewhere in the range of what I was already paying, just shy of $180 dollars a month.  But, of course, that was not to be.  To my gleeful surprise my monthly deductions was... falling... not like a rock, mind you, but enough to make a significant difference in my paycheck.  How much less will I be paying per month?  $39.00  As I did the calculations over and over again I could almost hear the rising tide of Tea Party voices wailing "This Can Not BE!"

Now I will be the first to admit that everybody else in the country is going to mirror me.  There are unscrupulous companies out there who don't give a damn about their associates.  I would not be surprised if there were several companies owned by Conservative Republicans which actually raise their employee rates.  You see, they don't care if they hurt their associates just as long as they get their point across.  They are going to make their political point no matter how much they have to gouge their employees.  Nothing is going to change them.

So why all the clamor from the Tea Party about the Affordable Healthcare Act?  Well, for one thing, I've always suspected they really are nothing moer then bags with loud voices.  Secondly, this is legislation which was passed under President Obama and they hate him.  Thirdly, they are terrified that when all of the working class 'joes' who make up their core start seeing the benefits they might start saying "hey, this ain't too bad."  That would be terrible news for the Tea Party.  They might start losing elections.  I mean why would any sane person want to vote for a lying sack of shit.
