Bluntness

I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

Pink Peonies... and other stuff

Well, I'm starting this a bit late this AM, I had the alarm set for 0430 but the dogs decided they needed to go 'potty outside' at around 0300, so I turned off the alarm and got up around 0530.  I'm thinking I may have to rethink my schedule again.
Yesterday we had storm warnings all day, and only one thunderstorm went through around mid-afternoon.  I was worried we'd have constant storms all night.
The pink peonies are in bloom.

And, of course, the wall of roses in my front yard is prepping for their first display of the season.

This is the top of one of 3 bushes
And, on the political scene - things are not just too peachy for the Idiot Jerk.  He's shrieking, and moaning, and Tweeting.  North Korea's blaming the administration for the failed summit.  The Pentagon is asking to send 5000 - 10,000 troops to the mid-east.  We just gave another $16 billion to America's farmers - tariffs, you know.  Oh, and he just signed an Executive Order instructing "all" intelligence agencies to give his henchie, Billy Barr, all info, classified and non-classified, on Russian interference in the 2016 election.  And all that happened in about 20 minutes, yesterday.
For those who didn't know, Merrick Garland is the judge of the hour... the week... the month... and the year.  The Idiot Jerk's taxes... you know?  This is what you call Karma, or, if you're religious, Justice.  I'm sure that when Mitchy McTurtle heard this knews he turned his head slightly to the side and mutter and quiet "Oh, shit."
Finally... Theresa May is resigning.  Is this the end of Brexit?  Nope.  It just means the divorce is just going to get messier.  And all those bobble-headed voters who thought this was going to be an easy process are rethinking their votes.  Maybe I should try sending them all a picture of my pink peonies... that might brighten their day.

Le Tour

For those who don't know, today is the first day of The Tour de France, hereafter to be known as Le Tour.  Twenty days of racing.  Today's stage is a mere 201 km long.  In case you're wondering, that's a long bike ride.  Which is why I have a split screen.  One half to type this, the other to watch the race.
Complicating today's viewing is the fact that I have to work.  Not only do I have to work, they called to see if I could go in early.  Of course, I agreed since I'll get to leave early.  5 PM.  That's fine with me.
As most of you know, I'm a Cannodale fan.  I own 2 Cannondales, one old, the other brand spanking new.  I am rooting for their team.  The only thing they've done wrong so far is change their kit.  They went very pink this year.

In spite of what some may think, I am not a pink kind of guy.  The pink is okay though, next year they'll move onto a different color.  At least it's not polka dots.  I remember one team wearing a kit made up of large, pink, yellow, blue, and green polka dots.  Horrendous.
And next week the Idiot Jerk goes to the UK.  Mainly to tour country homes.  Yep, that's what is on his agenda.  Oh, and he'll meet with Theresa May.  Hopefully he wont' throw Starburst candies at her.  Evidently they are doing their damnedest to keep him away from the massive protests.  Only God knows what that would do to his ego.
And I understand Pompeo has left North Korea without any agreement on just what denuclearization consists of, you know?  Like, that's not surprising.
Oh, and getting those little kids the administration chose to separate from their parents?  Evidently that's turning into a real cluster fuck.
Do yourselves a favor.  Turn on Le Tour.  Watch mens with legs of steel pedal across the roads of France at an easy 25 miles per hour.

Hosed

Well, here is is Thursday and this is going to be a Recovery Day.  Everybody keeps telling me to take it easy and since I did cardio on Tuesday and Cycling on Wednesday, I've decided that today I'm going to take it easy.  Work yesterday went fine, though I realized around 5 hours into my shift I should have brought some Advil, so, guess what's getting packed with my lunch today?
So, I see that Theresa May tried to Bitch Slap the Idiot Jerk in the White House yesterday and he told her to... shut...up.  She should have realized that as long as he's hangin' with his homey Vlad she's about as inviting as a plate  of old, cold pasta.  Did she really think he cared?
Oh, and Mattie Lauer says he's... sorry, but then that's what most useless tools say.
And what about Garrison Keillor was fired as well... for inappropriate behavior, which just goes to show that just because you're pretentious as hell doesn't mean you're grabbing, and gripping and horn-dog tipping... or at least trying to.
And Jeffey Sessions is going to be called in for a private session... and I think it's today, and I'm sure it's not the kind of private session Roy Moore would like... no little girls.  Evidently, while speaking at a church rally, he said that all of those women accusing him are liars.  Someone needs to scrap up this pond scum and lay it out in the sun to dry.
The Grammy Nominations were announced a couple of days ago... who cares.  For those who don't know there are 84 categories (and there are sub-categories as well).  The nominations are chosen by a 'committee' which is why album sales and downloads are key to getting a nomination which defines these awards as being more about popularity than quality.  I don't watch them.
Yesterday morning I told the dogs that I was thinking of maybe putting up a Christmas Tree this year.  I couldn't tell if they were excited or not.

The only thing I'd really worry about would be Biggie lifting his leg and hosing it down in a big time way... the Republican Tax plan is going to hose most Americans, not that they really care.

Trump & May, losers in arms

So, something funny happened yesterday in the UK - Theresa May and her Conservative Cronies' plans to cement their power ran into a bit of a sledge hammer.  The voting public not only humiliated her, they proved that her approach to Brexit was anything but satisfactory.  I'd like to say she is the female counterpoint to our Idiot in the White House, but I don't know if she's quite that... stupid.  What is it about Conservatives that keeps them from comprehending they need to deal with a majority of the people?  We had James Comey testify yesterday, and even though only the public bit was televised, he made the Idiot in the White House look bad.  And no Republican stood to defend him.  Remember, the general viewing audience got to see a portion of his testimony.  We didn't get to see the real juicy bits, which is probably why no one stood up to defend the Idiot.  They all know now.  As for Theresa May?  Well, she's going to have to bend over and kiss somebody on the ass in order to form a coalition government, which means her party is not going to be calling the shots.
As for the Idiot in the White House?  His supporters are still staying loyal to him, to a certain degree, but as time moves on, they will continue to drift away, once again become silent.  In fact the latest Quinnipac Poll has his approval rating down around 34%... and that was prior to yesterday's smack back by Comey.  I'm sure that future polls will be even lower.  The GOP isn't running scared yet, but they don't seem inclined to put their wagons in a defensive circle around the Idiot.  This is life when you're a loser.
